"The battery on an old Toshiba laptop died on me last weekend and I was able to order another one from Laptop Battery Depot at a good price with free shipping.

I noticed the next morning that my power adapter had come unplugged from the wall and when I plugged it in, my problem was solved. The old battery started to charge again.

I called LBD to cancel and they were very helpful and actually did cancel the order.

In my opinion, most companies would NOT have done that.

"one minor dissatisfaction with the transaction was the relatively slow shipping time....it took about 4/5 days to get the battery and I believe it was sent priority mail.
A more significant issue was my inability to register and get shipment tracking info. it may have been due to an initial unsuccessful attempt which somehow registered my email and then kept giving me a "duplicate email" message when I attempted to complete the registration.
I was becoming frustrated with the combination of lack of shipment info and the elapsed time of delivery. As of now I'm not registered and I really don't believe that someone else has my email address....its too peculiar.

I bought a new battery as my old one had stopped charging. I inserted the new battery and ran it down as instructed, only to find that when I plugged in the charger, nothing happened (it maybe my old battery was fine as well). I researched the problem and there is a suggestion to flash the BIOS from my original A03 to the latest A017. Unfortunately the computer will not flash the BIOS without 10% of battery power remaining - a catch 22 as my battery is now empty!

My dell E1505 original charger wire had become damaged at the computer end and (I presume) the central wire that communicates between the computer and charger was broken. Similar reports are common online. The charger would power the computer, but not charge the battery. Maybe this is a Dell thing because the charger would charge my 17inch HP laptop without a problem.
I suspected the charger so bought a new chinese knock-off on line. This charges the battery, so now everything is working properly. I hope the charger lasts as there are some reliability issues reported online with the cheap ones (no surprise!).
I have now flashed the BIOS, but doing so did not make my old charger start working.
Really it comes down to the original wire have been flexed so often over the last 8 years that it had broken. This seems to be a common problem. In retrospect, buying a new charger first would have been less costly."
