"I recently ordered another intrinsically safe flashlight for my son who is an engineering student at the US Merchant Marine Academy. This is the flashlight his shipboard supervisors thought was fantastic and several faculty at the academy ordered them after seeing my son's. He needed another as "something" happened to his while training-I believe it was in contact with some very nasty stuff inside a tank in a container ship this is stuff that only cadets/midshipmen would be asked to clean up. :-) Anyway he did not want to clean the flashlight after this "contact". Reasonable price meant that was an ok option of course he came home wanting me to foot the "reasonable cost" to replace it. Larson zapped it off to him proptly and sent emails so we knew exactly when it would arrive. He is ready for a new ship and I am happy to make my son happy.

"The 4 Watt Magnalight is a very impressive little light that does exactly what its Manufacturer says it will. It has a surpisingly powerful straight beam for only 4 Watts. I have another flashlight that delivers 90 lumens at 3 times the cost of this light and uses much more expensive lithium batteries and Halogen bulb that increases the weight by a factor of 5. This light only uses 3 AA batteries and an LED that will out last my other light by years."
