"I thought the servivce from LFH was excellent, they always kept me informed of what was happening, provided useful information on how the process worked, were significantly cheaper than the alternatives I found, and the lens provided (Canon 100-400L) was like new and had all of the accessories you could expect (caps, UV filter, hood).

I was particularly pleased with the way they ensured the lens was delivered the day before I needed it, and that I could return it on the day after, without being charged for these days (or the days it was in transit).

I hired this lens because I needed it for a safari, but now I know how simple the process can be I will definately consider hiring lenses more often (although with the price of delivery, it might not be worth it for less than a week or so)."

"I rented a canon 500mm prime lens. All communication was speedy and informative as well as polite. The lens was in as new condition and performed faultlessly throught my weeks rental. "I rented a Nikon AF-S DX 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G IF-ED VR lens for about a week. Pricing, ordering and checkout were all very simple, as was the insurance policy information. The lens arrived on time and in perfect condition (essentially as new). I exchanged several emails with LensesForHire, and they were always quick to reply and helpful. It cost about £8 to return the lens using Royal Mail Special Delivery.

The lens itself is a multipurpose lens, going from reasonably wide to a decent zoom (on a camera with a 1.5 focal length multiplier; note that the lens is designated DX and is therefore not suitable for cameras with full frame sensors). I enjoyed using the lens, and managed to take some decent photos, a few of which I'm really pleased with. My only criticism (of the lens, not the company!) is that it tends to lack sharpness, although the vibration reduction goes a long way to keeping this manageable. However, this is to be expected from a multipurpose lens, along with the slightly limiting maximum aperture of 3.5-5.6. In summary, it's great for travelling with, as you really only need this one lens and won't need to and swap between multiple lenses, but you need to be prepared to sacrifice a little sharpness and aperture."
