LHG refuses to finalize installation they have already been paid for

"Reasonable coverage, but caveat emptor. Purchased LHG. Filed claim for bad heating in HVAC system. LHG sent one of their techs out to check the system. Recommended full replacement of existing 3 zone system. Submitted quote and I accepted the costs associated with the purchase and installation of said new system. Fast forward 4 months and LHG sent out a tech who performed a partial installation, not to code, under investigation with NC HVAC board. Found out tech doesn’t have HVAC license, and the installation they did could be damaging the equipment I purchased and is also causing moisture issues as well as water leaks into my ceiling. 2+ months of asking Liberty to make this right since they paid their vendor for work that was never completed and was never marked completed. LHG expects me to pay an additional nearly $2k to properly finalize an installation I’d already paid for because they paid a vendor for work that I told them was incomplete.

I’ve had to file a dispute with my credit card company against liberty because they refuse to address their mistake. Meanwhile I’m expected to cough up another $1700 out of nowhere as if that’s chump change with the promise that “LHG will refund you that amount if they win their dispute”.

So, if you value your home and choose to use LHG, verify license and insurance information prior to vendor arriving and watch their work like a hawk. LHG chose to use a tech that didn’t have HVAC license in my state and who has NEVER had an HVAC license in my state on multiple different occasions.

Customer service is exceptionally friendly. I will give them that. Their customer service people are top notch. The company behind them isn’t. LHG refuses to take accountability for their own mistakes and instead chooses to push the risk, and cost onto their customers.
