"First of all, all the customer service agents of LuckyVitamin I chatted with were very polite and professional. But it was pretty much the end of it.
I ordered several expensive special tooth pastes on Aug. 10 with new customer promo code. Since the shipping did not happen in two weeks, I contacted support and was told it was normal and it would take up to 15 business days. The tracking number would show up once the package crossed the border. Sure, I continued waiting.
By the promised deadline, the shipping still did not happen, then I contacted the online support. This time, I was told the order stuck in the system, but the agent would let the warehouse ship the items first thing next morning, and at the meantime, a voucher was issued for my trouble. Very nice gesture. I continued waiting.
Another week passed, and still nothing happened. I contacted the support again. This time, I was told the order so stuck in the system, that it should be cancelled and reorder. I felt it was very weird. How difficult was it to ship the items I ordered and already paid for. The money was charged long time ago. Anyway, a voucher to compensate the original new customer promo was issued.
So I proceeded with a new order with the vouchers I have. The vouchers were applied successfully before the payment stage. At the time of payment, LuckyVitamin sent the full amount, not the displayed discounted amount, to Paypal. After I paid the due, I contacted the support to see if the discount was actually applied, and was told it was indeed not applied. So the order was canceled and I need do the reorder again. The support said a replacement voucher would be issued in one or two hours pending management’s review (standard procedure according to the agent). Now more than a day has passed, and nothing happened.
Obviously, now I don’t trust LuckyVitamin anymore. It is reasonable to believe at least LuckyVitamin’s managment did this on purpose to avoid the applied discount. By the way, it was not some crazy discount. In the first order, it was only $5 off $50+ order, for new customers. They could just let me know at the very beginning that they could not sell the items below the cost or whatever reason they had. I would totally understand it. They should not have played tricks and wasted more than five weeks of my time, while my patient family member was waiting for these tooth pastes.
It was weird that LuckyVitamin’s reviews here are surprisingly good, but extremely poor anywhere else. So I don’t know what was going on. Anyway, the good part of my experience is that LuckyVitamin has some nicest customer service agents and they refunded the payment of the first order after I asked for it (I am not sure what would happen to the temporary authorization of the payment of the second canceled order yet). But if the nice customer service cannot get the customer anywhere but frustration like in my case, I think one star is well warranted to the company."
