"The school changes the staff a lot. 3 different directors, 3 different teachers. In the past I usually see the circle time, classes being taught. Now it looks like a daycare and the prices keep going up. I only keep my daughter on this school because the tuition is still ok. Previous director used to send emails about upcoming events, new teachers. Previous teacher used to send details reports about my daughter. I miss those details"
"The school is not organized and chaotic. Nobody takes ownership of anything. Any questions asked doesn’t get answered clearly. The acting director is not well equipped to run a school for this long by herself"
"Honestly not great. We came in thinking this was going to be the best decision for our son and it has slowly gone downhill from there. After about 3 months of enrolling our son, the director was let go, shortly after that the teachers followed, what was voluntary from our understanding. We understand changes happen, but when it's been going on for over a year nonstop, it doesn't make us feel any better. We kept telling ourselves that things would turn around, to give it a chance, but again, it's been over a year and nothing seems to have changed. The only reason we haven't is because our son knows his classmates names, is familiar with them as well as with Irene, Cici, and Ms. Willie."
"I have been with this school for over 6 years. I was lured in by the core staff years ago who had a vested interest in the success of the school and a core focus on the children and their development. We do not have this environment anymore. I feel like staffing is managed to the bare minimum. It feels more like babysitting than a Montessori program, yet we are paying for a Montessori program."
"Overall is good, but the rate of turnovers is too high which makes me think something is not right. Nobody stays more than 6 months in the school."
"Extremely disappointed that the assistant director Breanna is no longer with the company. She was the reason we decided to send our children to the school after she covered for the Greatwood location and trained their assistant director. After our dissatisfaction and the mismanagement of our 2-year-old and high teacher turnover at Greatwood, we searched for another sister school, and New Territory was close to our home. Ms. Breanna was the kindest and most involved teacher/assistant director we had ever encountered. The only reason we pulled our children from New Territory was because of the racial preferences, high teacher turnover, and our son and daughter's teachers leaving the school. Our goal was to have our kids taught by Montessori-trained teachers. The director, Jenny, did not listen to our concerns even after we held a teacher conference. My husband and I had several conversations with her about transitioning our son to the next room, and she claimed he had a speech issue. Other children (Asian and White) transitioned to the next room who were at the same level or lower developmentally than our son. Finally, a great teacher was added to the toddler room, but she quickly left due to unknown reasons. We did not appreciate the way Jenny spoke to her staff and teachers and antagonized them. We held a conference with Jennifer, the regional director, and she did not implement any changes and rewarded Jenny's bad behavior in various ways. Jenny is why all teachers have left and continue to leave. She has burned the school to the ground. We were dedicated to the school, purchased wood and rubber mulch for the playgrounds and sprayed for bugs and mosquitos bi-weekly for free. We tried our hardest to get past the negative energy but could not take how she was treating the staff and playing favoritism to certain nationalities. We hope that human resources and Montessori Unlimited reflect on the MAJOR loss they are encountering under Jenny and Jennifer's Management. Suggestions include in-depth leadership training, Diversity Equity and Inclusion immersion, and investing in education for the teachers who truly want to advance in their profession."
"I attended New Territory Montessori for over 5yrs. Things were always great as far as feeling like a family community. Then in comes the newest Director (the 4th in 5yrs) and it all went down hill from there.
HUGE teacher turnover, staff being spoken down to as if they are less then the Director Jenny. Lies to parents, racial slurs and comments about families and the list goes on and in. I know this be abuse you can hear her in her office even with the door closed.
The Assistant Director Ms. Breanna was the only constant there and the only one that many families trusted. However, she was let go and now there is a high concern for our children in that school. We will be looking for another school ASAP.
When you try to speak to the Director about a concern she laughs and smiles instead of trying to problem solve or get to the root of the issue.
If you want a school where you have to constantly worry about the care of your child/children or like being spoken down to by the Director then this is the school for you."
"This is the worst preschool I have even seen. I sent my kid to this preschool since fall 2021, then our nightmare started. The room is very very dirty, all toys are super dirty. My kid got sick almost every other week. The teachers did not teach a lot, the only thing they did was just let kids play by themself.
In the beginning of this year, they changed the director. I thought it may be better since the new director Jenny said she will make some changes for the school. Then another nightmare started. The school is still super dirty, one day I walked my kid to the restroom, lots urine was on the toilet and floor. This is the restroom for kids! How can it be that dirty! I was so shocked! We talked to Jenny, but she didn’t care. The only thing she cared is making money! She had lots of third party class come to the school to hold classes for fees. We need to pay extra, and the fee is even higher than average. In the middle of June, almost half of teachers got Covid, and some students and families got Covid too. But can you imagine what I saw? There was not enough teachers taking care of kids, but she still took some parents to take the tour of the school. And in such hot summer, no matter how hot the weather is, kids have to go out in the afternoon at least an hour both in the morning and afternoon. Sometimes, in the afternoon, it is over 100F outside. All kids’ cheeks are super red.
I don’t know why the higher level management team chose this kind of director for the school. Since she joint, the teachers turnover rate is super high. Lots of my kid’s teachers even complaint her to me. In my opinion, before as a manager, she is a teacher, an educator, she should put the existing kids in first priority. But she didn’t, then the result is more and more students and teachers left. Then she needs to go and recruit new teachers and students. But when they find out NTMS is such a terrible school, and her management is such horrible, they will leave. This is a vicious circle.
If you want to spend more money and have your kids get all kinds of sickness, then send them to New Territory Montessori School."
"Please educate the kids more even for the toddler class. And please make sure the environment is health and safe."
"Low ratio and very sweet teachers"
"Our general experience with the school and staff has been great so far. We are very happy to have our son attend and look forward to having him there much longer. Everyone is very nice, attentive and very professional. Our son has been growing and developing at a very good pace thanks to his interaction with other kids and teachers."
"We LOVE New Territory Montessori School! It’s a great community and the teachers are supportive."
"Ms. Ericka, Ms. Breanna and all the teachers have been great at building a family and welcoming each child’s family into the larger family. It’s a great community and we’re proud to be a part of it."
"It has been very good experience. however, I really wish i'd known and taken care of my level of visibility for my kids activities on compass. I still do not have access to my daughter's activities."
"This school is close and convenient for drop-off and pick-up, they are safe because they have codes. The director hardly ever here, she is interested in only raising money. We are very disappointed with this school and are losing faith in montessori education"
