"I ordered several parts ,9 days later rang to see when they were going to ship was told 2.5 months before one item is manufactured which is ridiculus so I cancelled that item which is quite heavy and they still charged full shipping costs.Customer service is non existant and I wont be spending my hard earnt money with these grubs again."
"Ordered Skuff plates in May and a thin paper back book. Got the book but was charged 17.99 for shipping. A month after the purchase I called customer service to ask why I havent received my skuff plates. The representative said they were on backorder and I will receive them at the end of June. June passed and I did not receive the skuff plates. So I called again almost 3 months since the initial order, and they had another representative call me back.
The representative was somewhat rude, and to the point. Like she repeats the same lines over and over again. She said that the problem was with the manufacture and I will NOT be getting my skuff plates, but I wasnt charged so "everything is alright", right? (Nevermind the wait, the hassle, the high shipping charge, the run around, the stress that she wasnt sympathetic about). So I told her that I was charged for shipping 17.99 and that all I received was a light weight paperback book. She reimbursed me 9.00 dollars and said thats for the skuff plates shipping.
But I was still charged $9 for a light paper back book for shipping anyway, which is rediculous. She said thats all she could do and hung up. She wasn't very apologetic.
I am very dissatisfied with this companies service overall, including customer service.
I wish I had read the reviews prior to ordering so I would have not made that mistake of ordering with this company. Whoever wants to order from this company, take my advise and save yourself the headache, and just order from another company online. Avoid Mac Auto Parts at all cost. "
"Purchased strut pair from mac auto parts on eBay. A year passed and both struts failed to perform correctly and cupped my tires. returned for a new set and never heard from them. Currently filing complaint with Attorney generals Office of New York. These parts were warrantied for 5 years so the ad states. I want my money back due to their lack of response and ignoring my return. EBay can't protect you as they state after a certain limit. They claim no cash return but they shouldn't warranty parts and falsely advertise this.
Don't buy from this seller. Cheap unreliable parts!!!!
BBB filed as well and recommended further outside action.."
"I placed an order from MacAutoParts on 01/29/13. I read all the negative reviews but still made the choice to order. I called MacAutoParts prior to placing the order to 1# Confirm they item I wanted was in stock (read a lot of reviews that many ordered and were later notified the part was not in stock) and they said it was. #2 I asked about shipping and projected arrival (many complained about late shipments). The girl told me it would ship out of Michigan same day if ordered by 3PM. I placed my order before 1PM on this same date. Was told I would receive install instructions and UPS tracking number via email within hours. Was also told the expected arrival date would be 02/01/13.
Well 02/1/13 came and no UPS tracking # and worse, no product!
I called and was told I would have to wait until the girl that took my order got to work and she would call me. 02/01/13 at 1PM and no call....I called them back and the girl blamed everyone from the warehouse, shipping, to everyone and anything. Told me she remembered personally taking and placing my order 01/29/13 but was surprised to see my order still on her desk on 02/01/13.
She said the item shipped on 02/01/13 at 10AM.
Get REAL!!!!!!!!!!!! I gambled and thought "Oh how could they really be that bad...just a few mad people". Well I will never order from this company again...yea I saved some $$$ over competitors but for the hassles, it’s not worth it! BEWARE
OH....and I can't even comment on the parts I have'nt received yet reference packaging, quality or lack of...."
"Ordered by phone from Mac's 49-59 Ford and Mercury catalog one 1950 Mercury accelerator pedal. Catalog P/N is 8A-9735. I told the person I ordered from the Mercury P/N normally starts 8M. They told me this is proper part number for my Mercury. Part does not fit and I called customer support. She talked to supervisor and told me that I was responsible for the mistake due to me providing the P/N even though I got it from their catalog. "
"Wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I ordered. Ordered parts on internet. Received e-mail that some items were out of stock and would be shipped in approx. 2 weeks at an additional shipping charge or hold entire order to save additional charges. Second time this has happened. Most suppliers will ship BO items at no additional charge. Probably will not order from again."
"Ordered a Clutch was told they had 10 instock. PAID no tracking info sent. After more than a week was informed that the part would NOT be available for at leats 4 weeks. Customers vehicle down no part they have our money and they can not ship. VERY unprofessional. WHY did you not say the part was back ordered when we ordered it Why did I have to contact you before you bothered to tell me it was?? Will NOT use us again!!v"
"
This company needs to improve on estimated shipping charges! How can a rubber bulb that weighs next to nothing cost double the estimated shipping amount?
If I would have know the actual shipping amount before hand I wouldn't have ordered. It was bad enough that you charged an extra minimum order fee of $2.00, but
now you double the shipping on top of it! I had planned on buying more items from you, but now will rethink this order as a warnnig for future orders!
Other companies that have given estimated shipping costs are usually very close to the actual amount or dead on! This looks like you intentionly are looking to make extra
money in a downed economy.
The estimated shipping price was $7 so I thought that was normal for something that only weighs a few ounces. The company waits until they have shipped the item to now let you know the new shipping charge is $14.47. These guys are a rip off. They also don't respond to your emails......buyer beware!!!!"
"I had to pay shipping both ways and restocking fee for some cheap Made in China junk that would not fit I paid 64.51 and was credited 39.95 (beware) make sure you know all the policies before ordering anything."
"I purchased a catalytic converter in September 30, 2009 through ebay. It lasted only until November 2010 until my vehicle "check engine" light came on and would not passed the California Smog Inspection because of the defective Catalytic converter. Contacted Mac/Seller to inquire about the warranty. The gave me all these lists the probable caused why it failed. They also needed a pictures all at different angle. After a month of exchanging informations...I will have to unbolt the Catalytic Converter and send it back to them and additionally, I will have to acquire a Non-California ( I live in California) mailing address where they can send the replacement. It means I drive down to the nearest state, obtain mailing address, drive back to California, wait for about two weeks, drive back and pick up the item outside California. They shipped it once and now they claimed can no longer able to ship in California.
I am out hundreds of dollars.
Buyer beware!!!"
"I ordered a flex pipe from mac auto parts but when it did not fit, I realized that even though the description said "ALL 1998 toyota camrys" it did not actually mean ALL toyota camrys but camrys sold in states other than Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona (this was implied in a note on the page that read "not for cars in the state of California").
I would have been perfectly happy to simply return the pipe but the customer support personnel, JIM, was incredibly rude about processing the return. Furthermore, it appears that when they say "20% restocking fee may apply" they actually mean that it WILL apply to ALL orders. Basically, I was told by the extremely unfriendly staff that I will have to pay $70 for their inadequate website description. I will not be shopping here again."
"I got a hub bearings for my GMC Savana 3/4 ton from this store and wasn't disappointed. I got my item next week with lifetime warranty."
" the last time my rotors and pads went i ordered them from MAC auto parts in new york. for my 1995 the total was $64 shipped for 2 rotors and front pads. I have over 45000 on them and the pads still have a lot of material on them. I am easy on my brakes and have a stick so I can coast up to lights a lot , but no complaints here. The owner and his son are very nice and great service."
