"I was extremely dissatisfied with these people. Their operation seems suspicious and unprofessional. They say, in bid red italic text on their website, "If it's on our website, it's ready to ship" -- it took a week for them to ship my order, they never responded to my emails, and when I called I never got a straight answer from anyone (even the manager, who promptly passed the buck on by connecting me to the shipping department and then the customer service department). I had to cough up nearly $70 extra because I finally had to resort to upgrading to overnight shipping. When I called, they gave me these suspicious mumbled lines about having to "call their buyer" in order to get a currently-shipping Apple Mac Mini available, etc. The only advantage to these folks is that they accept PayPal. They really seem to be a fly-by-night operation, with no regard for anyone's idea of proper business practices but their own. I feel strongly that they'd benefit from trying to live up to the tried-and-true mantra that "The Customer Is Always Right". I will never deal with these shady characters again."
"Beware this merchant. I expected a new Sound/DC-in board for my powerbook but recieved a used one. Upon close examination the web site does not specify used parts and implies new ones but states neither. Upon receiving my complaint, the owner changed the listing for the part I purchased to say "Part may not be new.".
The owner Mike Ajlouny does not seem to feel there is any difference between new and used computer parts made it clear that he does not care about my dissatisfaction.
If you are expecting any sort of professional behavior from this business, don't hold your breath."
"i shall keep this brief- mac pro sent me a known defective powerbook G4 1.67 Ghz ( damaged frame and dented/warped/lcd exposed screen enclosure ). the product was shipped in what appeared to be an already used utility box with simple bubblewrap around the machine!! not very secure at all, in fact. upon reporting this and telling ed, my 'customer service' representative i would be returning the product, he seemed nonchalant and unwilling to stay on the phone with me to alleviate any issues i may have after spending over 1400 USD with this company. then mac pro had the gaul to charge my credit card anyway, despite the fact i sent back the machine. shady company. avoid."
"BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE Here's the story...
I searched high and low to find the right MAC mouse for me. After some searching, I decided on the Macally BTMICRO mouse on a web site for about $5 cheaper than anywhere else, so I purchase thru paypal.
Well the product description stated that it came with 2 AAA rechargeable batteries and a charger for this wireless mouse. The package came yesterday and upon opening the package we realized that the charger was there but the batteries inside the package were not rechargeable, but standard alkaline batteries. The product description on the back of the package stated that 2 AAA rechargeable batteries were included but they weren't there.
For the sake of those who don't know, if you charge alkaline batteries they can and will explode. So we read the user guide which states NOT to use normal alkaline batteries in this mouse WITH a charger. So I scratch my head and wonder...if the product description and the package both state that 2 AAA rechargeable batteries are included, and they aren't in the package, what happened to them?
First I send an email to the customer service person at MAC-PRO.com who emailed me the invoice, Mike Ajlouny stating that I received the package but there must have been some mix up because the advertised "rechargeable batteries" were not in the package. Still perplexed and in need of a trip to Best Buy (where I could just pick up some batteries), I thought I'd call and just see if they would send me the batteries (after all that is part of the price I already paid, right?). So I ask for customer service and am told that she already left for the day, but I can call back tomorrow.
Being assertive, I ask to speak to someone about the situation or if someone could just send me the batteries. The person puts me on hold and gets "Mike" (same Mike) who informs me that he really doesn't care about the situation and that I am just impossible to be pleased. He says that its not his fault and that I just need to contact the manufacturer. I asked him how many of these mice he's sold and if any of the others have the same mislabeling. He puts me on hold and comes back and says that he has two others in stock and that they both have regular Energizer batteries. I explained the seriousness of the mis-advertising to which he replied that "we don't look at every item that we sell when we put it on our web site." I asked if he was going to sell the other two he had in stock without disclosing that the correct batteries were not in the package or send them back to the manufacturer for replacement. He stated the he would just update his web site that rechargeable batteries were not included. Thank goodness I printed the original product description (Bear in mind that this mouse comes with a charger so it really should come with those rechargeable batteries)
Surprisingly, I kept my cool and remained very professional (assertive but professional) Mike begins telling me that he's been doing this 20 yrs and that all customers are "b)tches", meaning me. My mouth dropped open and needless to say I was shocked. I explained that all I was requesting were the rechargeable batteries that were advertised in the product description and that I was appalled that he would call me a b)tch. I told him how unprofessional I thought he was and decided that we were at an impasse. I hung up and called the manufacturer. I explained the situation to the customer service person and they said they would send me the batteries, so we'll see.
However, then I got a response to my e-mail from Mike.
"I this is Mike, I was the A$$hole on the phone. I called MacAlly and they are aware of the problem, give them a call they will send you the batteries.
Sorry if you think are customer service should be better. Please do not expect anything more than "if your not happy, return product for a refund" That is all you can expect, shame on you to expect anything more from a super low price mail order company.
Please do not come back to us.
Mike"
You see, its not about a couple of rechargeable batteries, its about getting what I paid for. Its the principle of it. "
"I bought a MacMice mouse at BestBuy, but it failed after the return period, but within warranty. All correspondence for assistance was ignored for months until I got a response from Mac-Pro, who claim to have bought out MacMice.
Now I am treated to rudeness, insults, and runaround. Mike Ajlouny, ironically the "Customer Service" contact, is about two shaded lower than sphincter.
I would not buy anything from these people, stop to help them change a tire, or brake if they crossed the street in front of me."
"I purchased a purportedly new PowerMac G5 1.8Ghz. I've had problems with the computer from the start and after attempting to repair it myself took it to an Apple Authorized Repair center. When they ran the serial number they could not locate it in Apple's database. They finally were informed by Apple Computer: "This unit shows as a pre-production engineering evaluation test unit and this unit is not eligible for service. Unit should be given back to end user un-repaired."
This system should not have been sold since it was to be used only for engineering evaluation.
In an email message from the owner I was informed: "You where sold a new computer, it came with our warranty, it was not refurbished, nor used. The agreement has been met. I am sorry this happened to you."
If it was a new computer, it should have been covered by Apple's 1 year warranty. Instead it was only covered by a 90-day warranty per the owner:
"JOY this unit had a 90 day warranty, which we stand by. We never stated it came with a Apple Warranty. I apologize that your computer failed after the time allotted. I guess the machine is now only good for a spare parts machine . . . I am sure the money you save with us, in the future will far surpass the failure of the System. Remember, we do not make these computers, we just sell them.""
"I ordered an iBreeze laptop stand from mac-pro.com after my friend showed me his and demonstrated to me how great the product worked. After seeing this, I placed my order. First, I never received any shipping information and had to call the company simply to ensure that my product, which I had already been billed for, had been shipped. After being put on hold at least 4 times, I was finally given a tracking number, but was not told who it shipped through. Then I received the product, and thought my troubles with the company were over. I was wrong. The lower right hand corner of the iBreeze, which is made entirely of plastic, was cracked, causing the laptop to sit off-center and eventually fall off. I called the company and was again put on hold and transfered 5 times before talking to someone in shipping. They told me that I would have to pay the shipping back to them, so that they could send me a new one. They then went on to say that it was FedEx's fault the product was damaged; however, there was absolutely no damage to either of the two boxes that the product shipped in. They told me that they would contact FedEx, file a claim, and reimburse me in 4-5 weeks, and in the meantime I could order another iBreeze. So basically I would be out $60 for nothing, and for a college student that is a hefty hunk of change. Needless to say I am simply keeping the product and living with the damage, for fear of never seeing any money reimbursed to me nor receiving a new product. The moral of the story is that this company is shady and has horrific customer service. I would not touch this company again with a ten foot pole and I strongly advise you to look somewhere else for your product."
"purchased 3 simple items. prices were ok but not the best. one order had 3 of same item but different colors. shipment came with incorrect colors. i guess they did not care to send the right one. otherwise good order.
Send the email regarding this to the company. They apologized for the mixup and gave me $5 coupon. Couple of weeks later they sent me the last item on the original order and charged my credit card again. of course the coupon was not applied."
"Ordered a bluetooth antennae for my PowerMac G5.
They shipped APO via Priority Mail the next day.
Very responsive on email."
