"Clear and precise information."
"I was pleased at all levels!"
"5 out 5 stars. So far really outstanding!!!"
"I purchased Mariners Learning System and put quite a bit of time into studying the material. I eventually took a physical class as it was offered in my remote Alaskan community. I found that the Mariners learning System had prepared me well for this class and I passed the exams without problems. So, even if you may be planning to take a physical class I would still highly recommend this product. Also, I submitted a licensing question to Mariners after my purchased support time was up. it was answered via Email immediately."
"They were very helpful every time I needed help"
"I fill confident i went with the best education opportunity to get my six pack.
"
"Its easy to set up, use and learn. The tests are well done. For an experienced boater who is looking to get enough extra knowledge to pass the exam it is perfect. "
"Fast delivery. Now it's up to me."
"Argumentative nonresponsive waste of money. Save your money and don't go on line for your captain license. As far as I'm concerned I was truly disappointed with the online course. "
"This is a great way to take these courses in your own time. My husband and I both took the Six-Pack course this way, We are now working on the masters and sailing endorsements. Definitely recommend!!"
"I was forced to retire from my "regular job." I decided to become a mariner. My first step was to order this course. I am a computer guy, so using and learning from a computer interface came naturally. I found the course to be thoughtful and well managed.
It was easy to learn from, and you can go as fast or as slow as you like. This is why I chose this rather than a traditional classroom. I was able to breeze right on to the next module instead of waiting for other students.
I passed the proctored exam easily and received my USCG license. While I was in the midst of waiting for my license I enrolled at SUNY Maritime College. Yes. I was that inspired. SUNY represents the best training in the industry for ships and larger vessels and is local to me.
So you would think, why bother with a OUPV when you are going to SUNY anyway. As it turns out, SUNY only gets you "approved to test" for the limited tonnage program. So there is a lapse between when you finish classes and you have a mate's license in hand. In my case almost a year.
I was working on a tug and barge combo hauling oil in New York Harbor. Having a lowly OUPV allowed my seatime to count for a raise in grade. Instead of accruing seatime as an "ordinary" "Able Seaman" or Cadet. I was able to accrue while holding an OUPV, which counts towards a raise in grade.
Fast Forward 5 years and I am now master of my own tug. "
"Informative and challenging "
"Needed to extend my course. This company allows an extension for small fee. I think thats a nice perc associated with the captains license course."
"Follow their instructions and you WILL PASS!"
"so far very happy, intrigued, and excited. already reading through the material"
