"Whatever you do NEVER, EVER deal with this fraudulent company. They totally misrepresent what they are selling, and are extremely rude.
I bought what I thought was a '97 Toyota Celica engine with 35,000 miles on it. When my mechanic opened the package, none of the original engine parts would fit. After checking with Toyota directly, we found out that this engine was from a late '80s truck and it had at least 100,000 miles on it.
When my mechanic called a guy named Shauwn, he yelled at him and hung up the phone.
Buyer beware! I also called the BBB in Wisconsin and they said they had 223 complaints over the last 3 years about this company."
"Bought a used 4.3 GM engine from these guys, was to have only 65,000 miles on it and was to be tested and 6 month warranty. Got the engine- it looked like it had 650,000 miles so I called and the service dept. said it was tested and if it was bad, brind the viecle in and they would replace it. Well it was bad- called them back and was told they woulded replace it- but if I brought it bck, they would give me another one. Not wanting to deal with them anymore, I found another engine and returned the bad one to Mid City. I got my $645.00 back from my cerditcard company- and now the crooks are sueing me for $1,280.00. I'll see them in court-if they aren't in jail before then.( F.B.I., State Attorney General, City of Milwaukee, Milw. D.A.) are all looking into their practices!"
"Purchased a transmission and was sent the wrong one. Shaun blamed it on the garage and said they gave wrong information. 3 different people gave him all car details on 96 Grand Cherokee 6cyl 2 wheel drive. Wants us to pay to ship wrong part back and will not send part I ordered. Found out MidCity had so many complaints that they had to turn the file over to the Justice department. I can not speak for anyone else but he will not get away with this with me. He has messed with the wrong sister and who I got on my side....he is no match for. You reap what you sow and by the way he has sown seeds...his harvest is about to produce and I am going to make sure of that."
"I ordered a transmission from their Web site and I did get a transmission delivered in a timely manner, however it wasn't even close to the right transmission. That's were the problem started. It took nearly 2 months and numerous calls, faxes, & emails to get them to pick up the wrong transmission. Since it was kept in our nice warm garage, we have scraped ice & snow for most of Jan. & Feb. We were supposed to get the correct part shipped to us, but to this day we do not have a transmission. Mid City (Shaun Brayden) finally admitted they did not have a transmission that would work in our Suburu, so they would refund our money. When I rec. my charge card statement I realized they only refunded a partial amount, still owing me $298.75. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. No response to date. I also wish I had checked this business out before buying. I have wasted way too much money and time on this company. And from the BBB report, this is business as usual for Mid=City Auto Salvage in Milwaukee, WI."
"I should have done my research on this company before placing my order. But since they are affiliated with FBB I figured this would be a legitamite company. However, I was wrong. Mid City Auto Salvage had their membership revoked on January 26, 2004 from BBB for failure to respond to consumer complaints. They have had 139 complaints within 36 months and 106 within 12 monthsI ordered a transmision on February 1st of 2005 for my Dodge Intrepid. To this date I have not received a transmission or my money. All I have been received is a run around by this manager name Shaun Brayden. After three weeks on trying to actually locate the transmission and leaving several messages with no response. I was told that the transmission was ruined by the shipping department and a refund to my account would be wired to my account within 5 days.
Still have not received my refund. I called Shaun a week ago and I believe he must have forgot who he speaks with but he told me that he wouldnt refund my money unless I return the transmission. I had to remind him that I did not receive anything. "
