"I ordered a pair of $250 boots somewhere along the way something got changed so the size i ordered was off. so i called an spoke with Matt who said he was the owner and was NOT willing to help me with a return label , claimed it was not his fault... Had a tone right from the start very disrespectful from speaking with him alone i will no longer do business with Midwest i explained i could have gotten these on amazon or anywhere else where i would have paid less an had them in 2 day but i wanted to help a smaller company out instead of a big corporation then he got real snarky .so Matt you can kiss my ****! you lost out HUGE my company of 300+ wanted to check out your boots and i was the one trying to make it happen an you blew it over your ego."
"Wore the boots for 11 days, boots fit and felt great on my feet. had a issue with the left boot, inner lining came out. Had to pay to send them back. 2weeks later they send the same pair back to me say there wasn’t a issue. Unbelievable so an American based and owned company has such cheap and crappy customer service. Spent $170 to wear a comfortable pair of boots for 11 days. I’ll never buy nor recommend someone to buy anything from Midwest boots .com "
"I called customer service, which is a 15 minute wait, to tell them I wanted to exchange my $284 Thorogood boots for a wide size. They told me I should give the boots a week to break in before returning. They still were too small so I returned them after calling again. They sent them back to me and said they were too worn and wrinkled. They were in the same condition as I bought them, except I put leather conditioner on them because they were extremely dry on arrival. Shipping is also slow, it took over a week for my boots to arrive.
Buy from some place else with a real return/exchange policy not this terrible place."
"the size I need to be wearing is not common so it becomes difficult to find. I was surprised to see my size listed on MW boots. I got them when estimated time of arrival was to be and they were the correct size. "
"I bought a pair of Timberland shoes. They hurt my feet so bad. I feel like they were the shoes that a shoes company gives to retailers that have defects or so. Anyway I wore them for 1 day to see if I could get use to them. I could not. I returned them but they sent them back to me because they claim they had too many scuff marks. Their return policy is basically you can't return anything. Beware...not a customer friendly place.
I would donate but I am afraid these shoes will hurt someones feet due to the defect in the back heal. Its basically like metal sticking out of the inner boot. That part they did not care about.
Not only was I out $127.19 but also $15 for shipping it to them for them just to ship back. I was considering just to keep shipping it back to them until they have to spend my $127.19 in return shipping however it would cost me a fortune to do that so I will just throw them away."
"Rebok side zipper tactical after wearing 6 times they came unseeded sent them in no one called they sent them back with inspection that they couldn’t resale so I was out of luck. Will never buy anything from them again and wont recommend "
"Where to begin.... been buying these boots for a long time. Got my last pair of boots. There was 1/8 of a gap on tip of boot. Idk they did nothing to fix it. It's ok I'll spend my cash somewhere else.
"
"I ordered a pair of thorogoods 6inch steel toe from there website. I usually don't do this being that I like to try the boots on. Being that the boots have such great reviews I figured why not. Unfortunately I had the boots on for 5 minutes realized that I needed the size wider. I returned the boats the next day. I received the same pair of boots back with a Notice saying that the boots were worn and I could not exchange for a Wider size. The notice States visible outer sole wear, the logo worn off, and creasing and upper wear. Lol I had the boots on for 5 to 10 minutes at most. Funny how all this damaged can happen in 5 minutes not looking for my money back- I was looking for a bigger size. If you want boots I highly recommend not using Midwest boots. "
"friday, 6:47 a.m. pacific time: called and spoke with a guy for 8 minutes. placed an order for a pair of boots. $200.71. he said i'd receive the order confirmation via email. following monday, 4:20 p.m. pacific: called again because i had not received an email confirmation and the money was still in my account. spoke with alexa. 14 minutes. half of that was on hold. asked about my order. she finally found it and said the item had been phased out some time ago and that the order had been cancelled. no notification to me, not via email or phone. but what the heck do they care? not at all. she had the cojones to ask if i wanted to place another order. in-cre-du-lous. why would i place an order when they've provided such horrible customer service the first time around? she didn't care. nothing will change. not even their website, which still has the item for sale. isn't that against the law? offering for sale something you don't have and can't produce?"
"I wish I could give them a ZERO. So we ordered a pair of boots a few years ago. Great boots. I recently ordered another pair for my husband and they came defective. The sole of the boot was placed incorrectly and not straight. I called they said to send them back (at my expense) and they would take a look. Week later recieve my boots back and they claim they are not defective. I called and talked to "Matt" who claimed to be the owner of the company. What a joke. Meanest, most unprofessional guy I've talked to. Did not care for even a second about his unhappy customer. Would do absolutely nothing about the defective boot. Was extremely rude. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. We are now out the 240.00 dollars and no boots to wear. What a joke. They need to be shut down."
"My husband wore the boots 2 times to work and noticed a crack in the side of the boot. We sent them back for inspection. They said it's a cut not a "crack". We will not replace them. So we got them back and somehow the inner liner in the boot got reglued and they were up the side of the boot and bubbled at the toe. We called they said "that isnt our fault" I said well I want a refund and I will send them back. The Manager told me " We aren't giving you a refund, I dont know who your gonna get it from but not me" The owner is a complete ****!!! "
"I ordered a pair of Throrgood boots and wore them 4 hours the day after I received them. There is a defect in one of the footbeds. The same day I arranged for a return and exchange for the same size and model.
After hearing nothing from Midwestboots about my return, I called them. I was told there was nothing wrong with them and they were being sent back.
I wear boots 18 hours a day. These boots have a problem.
I called Throrogood. They refuse do do anything about the matter claiming it’s up to Midwestboots entirely.
$200 boots than are unwearable and have 4 hours on them.
Thanks Midwestboots and Throrogood.
Made in the USA indeed. "
"ordered a pair of boots that I have never tried says it has a 30 day return policy wore them for 2 hours in my house mail them back to them and they replied saying there was creases in the leather and had been used, how else can you tell if the **** boot is going to work other than walking around in them! Will never use these crook again and will highly recommend to my many Union Brothers to not use this company!"
"I ordered boots for my son for his birthday and after only 3 months of wear the soles need to be replaced. I was told to return them (at my expense) for inspection. The boots were returned to me in about a week with a return rejection letter stating they were "dirty" and had "sock lint". Duh...they had been worn for 3 months! The issue was the poor quality of the soles....when I called and spoke to Joe in the return department he was extremely rude. He asked me, "What do you expect me to do with them, they are dirty?" Do they have no clue? For the cost of these boots, over $200, I would expect them to last more than 3 months. Joe claims the worn down soles are due to wear...again NO CLUE!"
"Ordered boots as a gift for my husband in the same brand and size as his previous pair, but a slightly different style. He did not try the boots for a while, but when he did, they were a little large and he needed a half size smaller. I called and got the authorization to return them for size exchange, with shipping at my expense. We received the very same boots back from Midwest about a week later, with a return notice that the boots Show signs of outsole wear, scuffing, creasing, and not in condition for resale! Told the supervisor that these boots were in the same condition we received them in, with NO signs of wear as company is claiming!!! It was a waste of time and money in every way, as they clearly do not stand behind their exchange policy, and fabricate reasons to reject returns! I will never buy from them again, and would advise everyone to find a different vendor to purchase from. I’m going to contact the boot manufacturer, as I am sure they would like to know how this company is lending such poor customer service to their excellent brand!!"
