"I ordered a pair of Throrgood boots and wore them 4 hours the day after I received them. There is a defect in one of the footbeds. The same day I arranged for a return and exchange for the same size and model.
After hearing nothing from Midwestboots about my return, I called them. I was told there was nothing wrong with them and they were being sent back.
I wear boots 18 hours a day. These boots have a problem.
I called Throrogood. They refuse do do anything about the matter claiming it’s up to Midwestboots entirely.
$200 boots than are unwearable and have 4 hours on them.
Thanks Midwestboots and Throrogood.
Made in the USA indeed. "
"ordered a pair of boots that I have never tried says it has a 30 day return policy wore them for 2 hours in my house mail them back to them and they replied saying there was creases in the leather and had been used, how else can you tell if the **** boot is going to work other than walking around in them! Will never use these crook again and will highly recommend to my many Union Brothers to not use this company!"
"I ordered boots for my son for his birthday and after only 3 months of wear the soles need to be replaced. I was told to return them (at my expense) for inspection. The boots were returned to me in about a week with a return rejection letter stating they were "dirty" and had "sock lint". Duh...they had been worn for 3 months! The issue was the poor quality of the soles....when I called and spoke to Joe in the return department he was extremely rude. He asked me, "What do you expect me to do with them, they are dirty?" Do they have no clue? For the cost of these boots, over $200, I would expect them to last more than 3 months. Joe claims the worn down soles are due to wear...again NO CLUE!"
"Ordered boots as a gift for my husband in the same brand and size as his previous pair, but a slightly different style. He did not try the boots for a while, but when he did, they were a little large and he needed a half size smaller. I called and got the authorization to return them for size exchange, with shipping at my expense. We received the very same boots back from Midwest about a week later, with a return notice that the boots Show signs of outsole wear, scuffing, creasing, and not in condition for resale! Told the supervisor that these boots were in the same condition we received them in, with NO signs of wear as company is claiming!!! It was a waste of time and money in every way, as they clearly do not stand behind their exchange policy, and fabricate reasons to reject returns! I will never buy from them again, and would advise everyone to find a different vendor to purchase from. I’m going to contact the boot manufacturer, as I am sure they would like to know how this company is lending such poor customer service to their excellent brand!!"
"My wife ordered me wellingtons for Christmas. The wrong boots were sent. After mutiple attempts trying to contact them leaving a voicemail or email and not being contacted back, I finally was able to speak with a person. In order to correct their mistake they made me print a shipping label and bring to UPS to send back, instead of sending me the right boots and having me mail back the old ones in the same box.
Next I receive the right boots, wear them for a few hours maximum and decide they just don’t fit me right. I cleaned them off and sent them back. Received them back citing there was outsole wear and scuffing. Tried to talk this through with customer service but they will not budge. Tried to explain you need to wear the boots a little to see if they fit right. They cited their returns policy saying they have to be in resallable condition. Apparently their opinion of resallable and mine are waaaay apart because i’d buy these boots in the condition they are in. They laughed at me and acted as tho they were covered in dirt and had been worn for months!
Way to support the working class Midwest Boots!
Worst customer service Ive ever dealt with, never again will I buy here."
"I complained about the way the boots were made, the boot tops were made poorly and when you run your fingers across them the leather curls back.
They let me return them and insisted they would correct the issue and "talk to the manufacturer".
Well I get the second pair of boots - EXACT SAME ISSUE!
Now they tell me they will NOT let me ship back the boots for free, EVEN THOUGH it is the EXACT same issue!
DO NOT buy your boots from here!!
DO NOT believe the customer service reps when they tell you, they will handle it and make it right!!
If I could give them NO Stars I would!!

"On November 2, 2017, I ordered a $97.00 pair of boots for work. Midwest Boots uses UPS for delivery. As off November 11, I had not received them. I checked and learned that UPS delivered them on Nov 9, leaving them at my door. I never received them. I called UPS they said I had to make a claim with Midwest Boots. I made the claim and as Midwest Boots said, UPS closed the claim with no findings. I called Midwest Boots again and made a second claim. According to Midwest Boots, UPS could close this claim also with no findings. Midwest Boots claims several claims may have to be filed before they issue a refund. This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Midwest Boots as terrible customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They admitted that they know packages go missing but will not do anything because they are conspiring with UPS and other shippers to steal from customers. They take your money and hire incompetent shippers to deliver their product. AVOID MIDWEST BOOTS AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEY ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
"I ordered a pair of boots from Midwestboots.com, after 2 months the inside material has pulled away from the actual boot. When I try to take the boot off it rolls up at the back and makes it almost impossible to take the boot off (These are pull on boots). I called and asked them if they would accept them back for a refund or replacement pair. They said they would but I needed to write a letter explaining the defect as well as pay the shipping. I paid over $10 for shipping and received them back with a letter that stated no defect found. Now I have a pair of boots that are too big of a pain to wear daily after only 2 months. When I called and asked why they were sent back the lady was very rude and told me there is no defect if they say there isn't. I will never purchase from this company again. I also called Carolina boots (this was the brand of boot) and they told me there is nothing they can do, when I told her that is awful customer service she told me that is my opinion and it didn't matter."
"The$185 Thorogood boots were obviously defective from the factory but Matt and Lori at Midwest insisted that this was normal and would not provide any return postage due to these defects being acceptable so I was forced to provide an additional$20.68 FedEx postage to get a refund so the moral of the story is, is to never purchase anything from Midwest boots unless you feel like getting ripped off. Thanks again Midwest for your commitment to quality products being made in this country and excellent customer service"
"I purchased a pair of Dingo 11" Dean Harness Western boots and found they were a little too large. I wore them exactly 45 minutes as I walked inside of a local mall. I had saved every bit of the original packing and re-packed them carefully, putting them in the Dingo box and the external cardboard box and spent 25.00 sending them FedEx. The original boots were sent back to me citing, "Visible Outsole Wear", Creasing/Wear Uppers" and "Worn Insoles".
Just to be sure, I looked over the boots carefully. Dingo boots are oiled leather uppers and naturally have creases; their justifications were false. I have seen a number of other reviews from customers who were denied returns. The Dingo brand boots are great but Midwest boots has very poor customer service and clearly will not take returns. I strongly urge you to use use other companies; I found at least 10 other online companies with the same, or better, selection of work and western boots.

"To whom it may concern
I ordered a pair of Thorogood boots style # TH804-4205 on 11/29/16. After receiving the boots I wore them for a total of 7-10 minutes in my office. Never went outside, never scuffed them, never hit them on anything. Realizing that I cannot wear a slip on boot, I took them off, wiped them down and put them back in the box for return and exchange for a pair of lace up Thorogood boots.
I put a note in the box to where I wanted the new boots shipped along with the return paperwork. Not only did my return get declined, the boots were not shipped to the corrected address and I had to drive 6 hours today to get them as the RV Park where I was staying would not ship them to my address. Big inconvenience and even a bigger dissatisfaction when I opened the box and found that my return had been denied because of the following reasons,
1) Visible Outsole Wear
2) Logos Worn Off
I don't know whose boots the return department looked at but it wasn't the pair that I sent back. I am a Project Manager at a construction site and employ 200 employees. I ordered my boots from MidWest after searching the internet for a company that I could tell my employees about for good quality boots at a good price. To my surprise, MidWest has now failed to meet my expectations and I will never order anything from you again nor will I recommend your company to my employees or anyone else. This is not the way you treat customers!!!!!
I am returning the boots to MidWest and please donate them to a homeless shelter as they are no use to me and I'm sure someone will be grateful to get a "NEW worn inside 7-10 minute" pair of boots. I do not want a refund, credit or anything else from your company as my satisfaction will come from spreading the word of how you treat customers!!!
Sincerely
Steve N"
"I have been in the skilled labor trade for several years and have tried numerous brands of boots. Everything from Georgia's-Whites. I found Thorogood boots about 6 years ago. Normally I would be lucky if a pair lasted me a year. The first pair of Thorogood boots I bought lasted me more than 2 years. I still have them as a backup pair actually. They are the best kind of boots I have ever purchased. I just received my 3rd pair today and am extremely excited! I will never buy a different brand ever again!"
"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I followed their instructions to the T on trying on the shoe. I received the shoes - wore them for 1 hour on carpet (work in manufacturing - is a little dusty) I left the tags on - did not go outside. They hurt my feet so I took them off and returned them. They said because it was a little creased on top from walking in them I could not return them. If I could attach pictures to here I would! They are brand new shoes.
The manager Matt basically called me a liar saying they were worn outside - they were not! In addition, I was told I could not talk to the owner - Matt was it. He said they had 7 years experience and could see the shoe was used!
Very short sighted on their part - I am a HR Manager of a large manufacturer and was looking to open a corporate account. NO WAY WOULD I REFER ANYONE TO THIS COMPANY. "
