"I took my 93 year old mother to Toronto for a week and wanted her to have a memento of the trip, so I created a Mixbook photo book for her. The software was so easy to use that even a geriatric blonde like me was able to juggle, edit and swop photos, try different background, add captions and more.
Wow, was she surprised - and delighted! I haven't seen it yet (I'm in Mexico, she's in Calgary) but she says the paper quality, print quality and the packaging were all outstanding.
My query about delivery was handled quickly, politely and efficiently.

"I ordered 10 books, I ordered it late on a Sunday and realized there was a problem within an hour. Tried to cancel it on line and could not. Between Sunday night after ordering and this morning I've sent 20 PLUS emails to Mixbook Support and Yvette Customer Service plus left several phone messages and did the on line chat. The email responses I got were generic they will get back with you within 24 to 48 hours. The chat on line and emails said my emails were forwarded to the Volume Department and assigned a case number. Calling I never got a real person just voice mail saying they would get back within 24 to 48 hours.
A couple hours ago I got an email from Yvette an account rep stating the Volume Department sent me an email. I responded to her and told her I never received anything, I checked my junk mail and spam and there was nothing. I sent emails stating I wanted to speak with a manager and left messages as well. NOTHING!!!
Now I got an email from Tylee Snyder stating the books are finished and being shipped. VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE. YOU CAN IMAGINGE THE MONEY I AM OUT FOR A BAD PRODUCT

"I have used mixbook in the past and recommended to others personally and professionally. That absolutely ends today.
My first experience with mixbook was good. The site was glitchy and hard to use, but the first year I used mixbook my products came out nice and my clients were thrilled. Some even ordered further copies of my work to give as gifts to family and friends, and to my knowledge those that were shipped directly to clients had no issues either.
So when I went to do this year's projects, I stuck with mixbook because it is important to me that the style and bindings match year to year for clients who stick with me. Their site is still a bit of a pain to use, and their layouts are fairly limited IMO, but whatever. I was willing to deal.
But my books arrived and they are absolute trash. Just garbage. High resolution, crystal clear, crisp, vibrant pictures look no better than if they had been printed in the newspaper. Blurry, fuzzy, awful color balance, with streaks running through some of them as if the printer were running out of ink or needed to be adjusted. The black and whites photos (stunning when printed elsewhere or blown up to even poster size for my clients) are just a grey mess where you can't even see much of the detail in the image. It really looks like a photocopy of a newspaper clipping from the 80s.
Oh, and their pre-made templates aren't safe to use, either. There's one layout in particular that I used several times that seems to have errors. You can't see it on the website before you order, but every last page I used that layout on has white borders and photos shifted ever so slightly out of place from where it should be. It's not my error- I didn't accidentally move a frame- because it shows up on 20 different pages in 2 different books. It's an error on Mixbooks coding team, and just another strike against them. I should be able to trust that the formatting options they offer me aren't going to cause printing errors throughout my book.
Mixbook used to be my go-to, even with the hiccups with their software and design process. But now? Now I wouldn't use them to print a damn thing. I'm so disappointed by the drastic dive in quality. I read other reviews that mentioned a big change in the past year or so, but I needed my books to match the binding and style of my last order, so I gave it a shot. I was naive to do so, and I encourage you to reconsider if you have used them in the past and are considering doing so again. They are not offering the same quality they used to."
"In the past I have had stress with other companies creating a photo book. Needing to find one I could creat easily with good results was no easy task trust me , until I came across Mixbook. Using Mixbook has been a breeze, so easy to use yet creating the book you invisage and beyond. They have thought of everything. My favourite is adding shadow behind pictures or text that gives it a 3D effect bringing the page alive. If they don’t have the clip art or background you want you can upload your own. Choose a layout for number of pictures you want on each page or just add what you want and arrange how you please. You can add borders around pictures choose a colour or creat your own and it saves it so no guess work if you want to use the same shade on the same page throughout. Then you can choose the width if birder. The first book I created was a test and it was perfect. The second one I did was a wedding album from a wedding I photographed so it had to be spot on. It was, totally perfect that pleased the couple it was created for. Now I’m working on our holiday album and having so much fun doing it. Please, save yourself the heart ache I’ve been through and choose Mixbook. Your in safe hands, and customer services are a credit to the company always getting straight back to you so you don’t feel your alone they’re always on hand to help IF you need it."

"I ordered awesome, lovely calendars featuring my dogs, and I ordered a whole bunch to fundraise for charity. There was a printing error I noticed when they arrived. I talked over text chat with a customer service rep, and that same day they were reprinting the order to fix the issue. Couldn't be happier. Can't wait to work with Mixbook again."

"I had a great experience my Mixbook. If your photos have low resolution, I would recommend using lay-flat. Even my photos which were not with a good resolution, looked very good on this paper. Of course, you have to respect the alert signs you will see when creating your book. There are many options for backgrounds, which I loved."
"I have used Mixbook for several projects over the years. 3 Memory books and 2 calendars.... ALL of which turned out amazing! I love the quality of the product! I love the consistency of the product! I love the shipping speed of getting the order quickly! I live in Calgary, Alberta and my order was at my door AND delivered to my door! ....in less than a week! I was so excited. My order only took 6 days and I had selected Regular Post! I did not choose to pay the extra amount to have it rushed to me. Impressive! Thank-you Mixbook. "
"Unfortunately, after trying to order vertical pictures, they were showing up in the preview as horizontal. I did the live chat and the rep promised they would,be printed correctly, which they weren't. Did the live chat again to fix it and I had to escalate it to a manager bebrcause the rep was going to charge me to print them and postage again. When I got them, they didn't send the right amount. I called customer service the next time and spent 30 min getting the rep to do anything. Ultimately asked for a refund and won't be returning. "

"I created a photo book to be used as promotion for a large documentary project that takes place around the world. I was taking 100 of these books to a conference where I was presenting the project. The Mixbook website was very difficult to use, it kept crashing. Agents on several chats told me to open another browser when that happened. I did that but lost some of the work done. It was problematic to do this over and over but I was committed by then and had invested hours into the book already. I spent a total of 20 hours working on this book. As we all know, time is precious and we seem to have less and less of it. There were differences of density between the photographs on the template and the "project" sections of the website. I was told by an agent that I should just refer to the images on the "project" section to correct the density, color and brightness of the images. The book that I received was terrible, there were density, color as well as brightness issues. The pages didn't look at all like what I saw on their website. I can’t blame my computer screen because I calibrate it. I let them now via chat and email, asking to talk with one of the owners of the company. Eventually someone called, he was reluctant to tell me that he wasn’t the owner but that he was the customer service agent that was assigned to my case. He said that they needed to see a photo of the issue in an email and that I had declined so there wasn’t anything that they could do. I had already been working with two agents via chat who asked for photos and we weren’t getting anywhere. The chats kept dropping and I had to repeat my story. I didn’t want to start over anymore, I wanted to talk with one of the owners. There was a language barrier as well with the agents and the conversations via chat and on the phone were difficult to say the least. Finally, the agent on the phone became impatient and hung up on me, I couldn’t believe what had happened! Mixbook could have had an order of $1200.00 which will go to a company in Brooklyn."
