"Ordered a mod for my ps3 and while it took longer to get to me than should have, I don't think it was modchipcentral's fault but in the end I got what I wanted. I did email Sylvester G, who got back to me in a timely manner both times. I will definately order from them again. My Wii needs some attention ;) Just remember you are getting an item from a different country so if you live in the US it might just be right above us but there is customs ;) I am happy with the customer service I received as well. "

"Let me put it this way: If you're on this website reading reviews about this reseller,
there are strong chances you're having doubts about this business. My advice : stick to your instincts.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH MODCHIPCENTRAL.COM :
I bought a PS3Key for $44.95, paid $8.95 for 1-3 business days shipping to the US through UPS.
For that amount - 20% of the price of the item - transit time sounded fair for a letter that weighs 2 ounces.
Instead, package has been sent 3 days after order was placed, through CANADA POST with a 5-7 days transit time.
Under certain circumstances, it's not a big deal but keep reading, the story is getting better...

THE FACTS:
1. Order was placed and paid on a Monday.
2. Modchipcentral emailed me the CANADA POST tracking number on Wednesday.
At this point, package was still in their hands and had not been dropped to the post office yet.
I immediately emailed them and asked if it will be shipped within 1 to 3 business days as I was leaving the country by the end of the week and concerned I will not receive it on time and be able to take it with me.
3. I was only answered the next morning saying it will take 5-7 business days as they had an issue with UPS and could not ship it before.
At this point package was still in their hands and they specifically knew I needed it before the end of the week.
I e-mailed them again with my concerns asking for them to call me (I never got a phone call though they said they tried but my phone was not working - yeah right !)
4. They dropped off the package anyway on Thursday afternoon with 5-7 days transit time fully aware that I will not get it before I leave and knowing that I paid for 1-3 days shipping.
Understand here how much they don't care about customer's concerns and more over their own mistake. They just went ahead with what was convenient for them.
On Thursday evening (11PM) I was informed they could ship the package overnight on Friday for a Monday delivery (when I'm gone).
SO IF THIS WAS POSSIBLE, WHY DID THEY NOT SHIP THE PACKAGE OVERNIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE ? (sounds now like an empty proposition to me no ?).
5. I emailed them and told them UPS offers Saturday delivery.
Answer: "We would have been happy to do it but our shipping program does not offer this".
6. I answered them and told them to just go ahead and ship it overnight anyway for Monday delivery. My coworker leaving on Tuesday to meet me abroad would bring the package to me.
They refused to ship the item and told me to make my own arrangements to have package delivered to me.
I asked for their phone number to settle the matter over the phone. Answer: "we do not have a contact number".

CONCLUSION:
I'm going to leave the country without the item I bought and paid 1-3 days shipping for.
I was informed they faced an issue with UPS. It's ok, those things happen, I fully understand.
But they were informed - in time - about my situation and they could have fixed their own mistake.
Instead they completely denied taking their responsibilities as a professional and legitimate business would do !

LESSONS TO LEARN HERE:
Guys, ask yourself these questions and then you'll decide if you should order from them or not :
1. What kind of business does not have a contact number ? not mentioning there is no phone # on their website nor the invoice ?
2. What kind of manager / sales representative offers you a solution and take back his words when asked for it ?
3. What kind of company refuses to fix their own mistake when still possible ?
4. What kind of business with supposedly enough employees and a real customer service would send you emails at 11PM (their time) ?

TO YOU MR G. SYLVESTER:
You are unprofessional and unreliable.
You've wasted my time and unnecessarily went back and forth through emails for you to avoid your responsibilities with not intention of offering a real solution.
In a certain extent, I would say that I felt you were taking pleasure in letting me believe that you were working with me in any of the idea I've suggested.
Of course I can't prove any of this but I'm sure you'll fully understand what I mean here when you read this.

Your attitude is unacceptable. Unfortunately, business over the internet is a great place to hide behind a keyboard. Specially when you don't have a phone !
I offered you to call me but you never got back to me. You never offered to give me a refund for the item or at least refund the shipping cost for which you've failed offering the service I paid for. And at this point I really don't care. It's not all about the money !

I have read other people's reviews - different stories same result.
You have plenty of excuses but the fact is: You don't care at all. Really !!!!

People will still order from your website. It will be a hit or miss.
Some will have an ok experience but others won't.
I already feel sorry for the people who are going to experience something similar and would have to painfully deal with you.
I know it will happen, it's only just a matter of time.

You may be an "official" distributor of certain products in your country but that title doesn't mean anything.
You have proven here that you are not a good reseller with a real customer service able to deliver what you promise.

Since I will not get the package before I leave, I just hope the item will be working. It's already been a very unpleasant experience and a complete waste of my time dealing with you.

- - UPDATE OF MY REVIEW - -
Following review posted here I was immediately contacted by phone.
I was explained internal issues and offered to receive the item directly to my personal address abroad.
As promised, item has been shipped and received here in Europe within 3 days.
At his own initiative, Sylvester has tested in advance the device to ensure proper use.

As said over the phone, this situation has been over time consuming. However I am glad that in the end we've settle this matter rather than leave it the way it was and I'm grateful for the commercial gesture offered.

"I ordered and received a genuine PS3Key from this company. If you are receiving one without a serial number to confirm it's authenticity, do not worry, it was an issue with the original shipper not applying the stickers. Simply contact the support e-mail and they will help you quickly and and respectfully. Sylvester G. was able to get back to me within a few hours of my original request and I was able to confirm the authenticity of the device. Good store, (relatively) fast shipping to the US, and friendly support. I would recommend them to anyone asking."

"I purchased a wode jukebox 2.0 Wii mod (costs me US$89,95 (modchip) + US$15,95 (shipping) ). The payment was made through VISA credit card and at the same day I received a email from seller with the invoice.

After wait for 20 days, I sent a message to site asking for the tracking number and only on 07/20/10 I received a email from Mr Sylvester G. explaining the shipping costs was wrong and I need to pay the difference of US$29.00 or ask to cancel the order and make a refund.

I found something wrong was happening, because I received a message only 27 days after the order was made. The seller said he tried to make contact before, and that´s also strange, because I got more than 300 points on eBay and usually acquire eletronic gadgets around the world without any problem to made contact with another sellers.

So I request to cancel this order and make a full refund of the payment, but until now I don´t received no more messages or contacts. I will open a claim on my VISA credit card, asking to cancel this payment.

Seller refunded the payment after I write this review. The problem was solved.

"Excellent service, in spite of major site changes!

I happened to be unfortunate enough to order the evening before Modchipcentral went down for most of a day, in order to switch over to new hosting. In spite of this major technical undertaking, I received a polite and quick response from them when I asked if my order would be delayed, and it shipped out in the first business day since I placed my order. Shipping/customs was prompt, and I got my product the following day (with next-day saver shipping).

I realize there are some negative reviews out there for this company floating around, and I expect that it's simply that because it is a relatively small company, when something major happens (for instance, I remember reading that they lost a full day of orders), it can take a long time for an extremely small staff to pick up the pieces. This small company does an incredible amount of business every day, so I expect that most of the reviews posted are the result of a few off-days, not some continuing trend.

"Excellent, excellent service. I would recommend Modchip Central to anyone without hesitation.

I ordered a PS2 modchip, which took a long time to arrive. It turned out to have been seized by customs and all I received was a letter saying my modchip had been seized and destroyed. I sent a copy of the letter to the manager of Modchip Central, and within the hour he had provided me with a new tracking number and stated he had re-shipped me the modchip. I was especially impressed, as I never asked (or expected) for another chip to be sent. The second one made it here fine and works great. I will definitely do business with this site in the future.

"Awesome store, great products. Ordered an Acekard over the weekend, billing went through on the Monday and got the Acekard on Wednesday, super fast shipping! Needed some minor support with the Acekard so I emailed modchipcentral support and got a reply quickly that solved my problem. Great team, great support, and great products. "Great store, worked to satisfy my problems and needs. Patience is key here and research. This is a store but they don't have info for every type of system out there and thus whether or not a chip will work on your system. Turns out my particular system wouldn't work with the drivekey, fried 2 of them within hours before I researched again and went with the Wasabi DX.

Email response was fast, within a day, just make sure you keep all correspondence. Honestly, considering the nature of the product, I hadn't expected any replacement, communication so I am very happy and would buy from them again.
