I have really severe allergies to corn and so i need to call companies to make sure that their products aren't going to cause me health issues upon use or consumption; Every time that I have called them they have - without a doubt been some of the most friendly and willing to go the extra mile of nearly any company that I have called - and trust me when I say that I have called a lot because of my allergie. "I used to order large orders up to 4 times a year with Mountain Rose FOR 5 YEARS. Never claimed a loss package. Never returned a package. My address is international. In 2012, out of nowhere they sent an email out announcing the end of all international orders. No exceptions. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY! "I ordered the rosehip seed oil. It comes in a large quantity, for a really affordable price. I should have known something was up by the cheap price of the product. Rose hip oil can cost as much as $14.99 for .5fl oz. This stuff looks and smells like sesame oil. I smell like a bowl of dan dan noodles when I apply it. This is a really bad practice. I was really hoping for a good quality product. "

"i dont normally go and write reviews but i had to for this. I ordered from MRH for the first time 5 lbs of bulk spices for near $100 they say they ship within two days ha, its been more then a week and they haven't even responded to my emails i sent, im beginning to wonder if i was just scammed out completely. my most recent email today is asking for them to make good on their quick shipping guarantee. well let you know if they do that or what whenever they get around to responding."

"I was a ongoing customer who spent hundreds of dollars with Mountain Rose Herbs, but as soon as I had my one and only return, boy was that a different story. I got a smelly, metallic batch of Avocado oil that actually kept me from going to a very important show with my all natural lotions as I couldn't make my batch due to this oil that smelt like a bad case of body odor. When I contacted Mountain Rose Herbs to let them know about this batch, wowza did I meet with some heavy duty resistance. They could look at my order history and know that I was a loyal customer with no other returns and that I had purchased this oil in smaller batches many, many times before and that I wasn't trying to "pull something over" on them. They checked the batch and emailed me back (forget about trying to get a phone call from them) stating that the batch was fine to them, but that they were going to switch suppliers... hmmmmm? So they told me to send the Gallon jug back to them and I emailed back that I would only be sending enough back in the gallon so they could test and I wouldn't have to pay exorbitant shipping costs TWICE on this bad product. So they have received my return weeks ago (I sent it with tracking as that's the only way I would have known) and I called MRH customer service and they told me they had received it. But after transfers and numerous messages left for the "returns" department... not one single person has called me back or emailed me and I have been forced to pursue this was SO much extra time that just should not be necessary for a good company that believes in backing their products. I just wanted to give other consumers a heads up about my experience and hope it saves others some much valued time."

"I have been ordering organic herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs for a number of years and for the most part their products were of good quality and the orders did not take too long to arrive. But the last time I ordered herbs from this company, the Hawthorn Berry Powder smelled like it was rotten and moldy. Well things like this happen so I emailed the company expecting to get a replacement but instead was told basicially that I would have to send back the Hawthorn Berry powder at my own expense and wait to get it tested and then pay shipping for a new pound of the herb. I have never returned any of their products so I would expect that they would honor a request for a new shipment of herbs. I would have been glad to send them a sample of the herbs for them to test but to ask me to send the entire pound at my expense and then refuse to pay shipping...that sucks. And I will not be ordering from them again.."

"I've only ordered from MRH twice, but my experiences have been good. They ship promptly and their products are very high quality. Their prices are sometimes higher than other places but I find that they offer a large variety of herbs, oils, and hydrosols that I'm unable to find elsewhere. On top of their large variety they also have each herb/spice in many different forms and many different sizes which I really like. That way you can get a small size and try something if your not sure it was the exact thing you wanted or buy a huge quantity if you know you love it. I also really like that they also sell supplies (glass jars and dropper bottles, tea strainers and pots, etc.). They're usually a one stop shop for me when I need herbs or aromatherapy supplies. They are good about sending you an email right away confirming the order then sending you a tracking number when the order ships. I will definitely shop here again. "

"This is the perfect example on how a company degrades as it grows, having ordered a couple of times in the past, and being amazed by the quality displayed by this company, I decided to place another order about a month ago.

After having a hard time locating the products I needed on their site, it's complicated to navigate, I placed my order and everything went fine up to the point where I never received the tracking number.

I waited a few days and on the 20th (the order was place on nov 17) I started sending message to customer service inquiring for the status of my order, I never got a single reply so I quickly proceed to open a BBB case on the 24th and decided to send messages from 3 different address and see what happens.

I finally got a reply where they apologized for the silence, and then they started calling me a liar at the BBB case, etc...

And then I received the package, to my dismay, gone are the mountain rose markings on the box that clearly identified where did you made your purchase, I received a plain and simple box as if I had made my purchase for an obscure backyard dealer.

I open the box and find me the smallest size L white sage smudges and a bag of cedar tips that looked like if it was packed in a hurry.

But I got new for ya, prices are still as high as ever, the trademark of a growing business, as the prices go up, the quality goes down.

The only thing I can rate high about this store is the prices, the have abandoned the rest of the equation, high quality products, high quality services.

It makes me sad because back then it was so good that it almost made you run to knock at their door and ask to be allowed to be part of it.

"Delivery was slower than expected, but can tell from tracking that this was due to routing problem with UPS, and that store did ship promptly. Service from the store was excellent ... customer service called same day as order to advise that due to product weight, shipping cost would be higher than standard and gave me the option of cancelling the order. Product itself (glass jars) arrived intact, well-packaged, and exactly what I was expecting. Good value for the price. I would order from them again without hesitation."
