"I have been going to the same location for all of my vehicles for years. They have always been able to take care of me. This visit was because I could smell gas when stopping at traffic lights. Kevin Baker was able to get me right way when I called. They were able to fix my problem that day at a reasonable price. I will continue to go there for all of my car needs. "
"Prompt, polite, did not push for me to buy extras."
"Appointment was on time and work completed in a reasonable time"
"I had my brakes done and I was satisfied with the service. Anthony was willing to work with me without being pushy or the hassle of getting everything done as once. Looking forward to getting my tires next. "
"I have been a loyal customer at this site #722 for many years. Rick is the new Manager and he is very professional and trustworthy. He and his team of mechanics are working with me to prolong the life of my current vehicle with the goal of attaining 300,000 miles. They perform preventive maintenance checks every time I bring my car for a basic oil and oil filter change and provide me with a sticker on my windshield to remind me the mileage my car should be bought back in for that service. The Drive card credit card gives you extra discounts and is so worth having. I highly recommend this Mr Tire!"
"I went to Mr. tire for tires, that was it, 4 tires on a 98 Honda CRV. Now the car had been making some noise in the steering column for a bit and when they asked me if there was anything else I was concerned with I mentioned it. They told me it sounds like a power steering leak and they would check it out, they were also to check to see if the car needed an alignment. This was supposed to take one hour, we returned approximately an hour and half later to find the car still up on a lift. When I went inside to see what was going on they told me they couldn’t do the alignment due to the power steering fluid leak that they had found, and I needed to replace the rack and pinion. I asked if that’s what the squeaking noise was we had been hearing in the steering column and they assured me it was. So, I told them to go ahead and do it as I was going to have to deal with it eventually anyway and the car was there. This was the biggest mistake I could have made.
I was told the repair would only take about 5 hours and they would start first thing the next day. The next day I called around lunch time and they said they had gotten behind but it should be ready around 6. Around 6 we headed out to get the car, I hadn’t received a call or anything, but they never called the day before to tell us anything had gone wrong either, so I wasn’t waiting for a call. Plus, Rocky had told me it should be ready by 6 so I figured if I showed up around 6:30, no big deal, should be ready…wrong! When we arrived, the car was exactly where it had been the day before I had already called again as I left work at 4 that day and Rocky had assured me it was going to be ready by 6 they just had to finish up one thing and get it on the alignment rack. At 6:30 P.M. the car was literally exactly where it was the night before when we were supposed to get it back in one hour. Hood up, in the air, still no tires on it. Rocky said it would be ready in about an hour, I was angry, so I left but we stayed in the area and got a coffee and sat in their parking lot for a min intending to wait the hour and take the car but as we sat there we saw the mechanics still not touching the car but talking and standing around tossing tools and pieces from peoples vehicles around just sort of hanging out. After about 30 min of watching this I went home.
The next day I called on my lunch break and they were still having trouble with the car, they had stretched an O2 sensor too far and broken it putting in the rack and had to replace that then get it on the alignment rack (which was supposed to happen the night before) but he assured me it would be ready by the time I got off work at 4…I finally got the car back I noticed driving it home that around 60 mph the car was shaking pretty violently mainly in the steering column. I took the car home intending to contact Mr. Tire the next day. The next day we got up and found puddles of power steering fluid in the driveway. Now we were told the rack and pinion needed to be replaced because of a power steering leak which was causing the squeaking noise in the steering column. I had never seen a drip or drop of anything under that car until this point. I thought it was odd they found a leak I had never seen a drip of in my driveway, but they made it make sense using the squeaking in the steering column.
So, I called them up and let them know it was leaking something and shaking at 60 mph they told me to bring it back in. I brought the car back and they said the “new” rack they had put in was bad….and the gaskets in it were all shot…literally every single one. That’s why it was leaking, so they put in a second rack. The shaking they found to be due to a poor alignment on their part so they re aligned it as well. Again, this process took far longer than it was supposed, and I had zero updates on what was going on or when to come get the car and again two days went by until we were able to get the car again, but at least they didn’t try to charge me. I picked the car up and as I’m driving it home I can hear a strange noise in the area where the front tires are, and the car is bouncing around a lot. It seemed pretty minor though and the next day was thanksgiving and I was relieved to have the car back. The day after thanksgiving my wife drove the car to work. She said she felt like the wheels were going to fall off every time she hit a bump and she’s hearing a weird noise somewhere around the front tires. I drove the car around our neighborhood and noticed the same. It was doing what it had been doing the day I picked it up but much worse. With the holiday weekend I choose to not drive the car and I’d call Mr. Tire Monday and see what’s going on.
I called and was told to bring the car back again, which I did on my lunch break. They had the car for approximately two hours and when I returned after work to get it they said they could find nothing wrong and maybe the struts were getting ready to go bad. I drove around with one of their mechanics to try to show him what we were talking about and the noise in the front tires was very faint, but it was bouncing much worse. He couldn’t explain what the problem was and explained away all my concerns, so I took him back to their shop and proceeded to run by the grocery store, I went over a speed bump in the grocery store parking lot, the first large obstacle the car had encountered, and it felt like I had slammed into a curb. Absolutely no cushioning in the front tires, just a hard hit like metal on metal. I immediately turned around and went back….again……and told them there is definitely something very wrong. The mechanic rode with me again and I took him over the speed bump and he instantly said the struts are dead.
We took the car back and I made it very clear that this was their problem, the cars struts failed while the car was in their possession after installing two racks doing three alignments everything else they did. The car only needed tires when I went in…..about $1700 dollars later it now has dead struts has had two racks and pinions installed three alignments, I assume two power steering flushes as they told me the first go round you absolutely have to do a power steering flush if you change the rack, replaced an O2 sensor and had 4 tires put on that they quoted me at $101 per tire but I recently noticed actually charged me $110 per tire. Rocky then refused to repair the struts unless I paid for it. I refused to pay for it as they caused the damage. I filed a formal complaint with their customer service department on Nov 28th. I was told someone would contact me the next day. I called multiple times the next day to try to speak to someone as I had to get a rental car for my wife, so she could get to work at this point. Rocky finally agreed to split the repair with me, which would have cost me $350 and god knows what else would have been broken when I got it back. I refused and told him all I would accept was a full refund for everything at this point and for Mr. Tire to cover the cost of me having a different shop fix what they broke. He refused, I’ve called the customer service line every day since filing the initial complaint, sometimes multiple times a day, because I now have a broken-down vehicle and I’m paying for a rental. I left the car in Mr. Tires lot for two days and after not hearing from anyone I decided to go get the car and get it fixed elsewhere.
DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO ANY MR TIRE OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATES THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH ANY COMPANY BUT NOT MY FIRST BAD EXPERIENCE WITH MR TIRE I DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE AND IM PAYING IN THE THOUSANDS!
