"On 3 Jan 2008 I placed an order for two USB cables for my motherboard. I received a confirmation letter that my order had been fulfilled and is in the mail. After about three weeks...nothing. I called four times and four times I spoke with Will and expressed my frustration and promised he would call/email me back with some info. Still nothing, so I contacted the fraud department of my CC and they got my money back. I CAN NOT IN THE STRONGEST TERMS POSSIBLE RECOMMEND THIS STORE FRONT. THE CS IS TERRIBLE AND THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION IS WORSE."
"I ordered and HMDI cable back at the end of Decemeber. As of this date i have yet to recieve it. After numerous unanswered calls, messages and e-mails, I finally got a hold of "Will" (the only person who seems to work there)after about 2 weeks of trying. It turns out the cable was out of stock when I ordered it and they forgot to notify me. After regular daily calls the item finally came in last week. I live within 1 day of shipping form thier warehouse...I have yet to get my cable. I've been calling and every day I'm told that the cable shipped the previous day, contracdicting what they told me the day before. I will never order anything from them ever again. (Adversly I ordered cables from monoprice out of CA, they came in less time than what they stated on thier bill and the cables were amazing quality and a better price)"
"I am totally dissatisfied with my mycableshop.ca (Canadian arm of the US-based mycableshop.com) purchasing experience. My original order was placed on December 2, 2006 and I received an order confirmation the same day. On December 8, I sent an email to sales stating that I had not received a shipment tracking number and asked if there was a problem with my order. No response from the company so I phoned. Apparently my credit card payment was rejected by Mastercard. I asked them to try again because the card information they had was correct. On Dec 12 the order went through.
Once again, no tracking number, and no response to my email on January 10, 2007. I called and spoke to Will on January 15. He said the HDMI cables had still not come in. I told him to cancel the order, the whole order, and put through a credit immediately. I had been charged for the complete order on December 13th even though all of the items were not available. I asked if it was their policy to charge a card when the order was received even though they could not ship the product. He replied that it was their policy to charge the order immediately.
On January 18, I read an email from FedEx (dated January 16th) that my order had shipped (this after canceling the order the day before it shipped). I called mycableshop.ca and spoke to Will again. He was surprised that the order had shipped. He remembered that I had called and canceled the order. He asked me to refuse the package when it arrived (unfortunately, earlier that morning my wife had accepted the package from FedEX after I went to work). I called FedEx and asked them to pick up the unopened package and return it. They came back and wouldn't take the package unless I paid to have it shipped back (the driver said there was no shipper account information on the package). I didn't want to pay to have the package returned because I was already out the $147 I paid for the items, and so the package sits by my front door...unopened.
From that point on (January 18th) I have not been able to reach anyone at mycableshop.ca and I have tried on numerous occasions. I have sent emails. I have left voicemail.
Other than my original, automated email order confirmation response, I have never received a company initiated email or phone call from the company.
Buyer beware!
Well, I finally got my refund from Mycableshop, it took me 4.5 months. I don't think the BBB was much help. They spent 12 weeks on the case and were ignored for the first 11 weeks. I don't think it was a coincidence that the company issued a refund the day after they were contacted by my credit card company. But they did have my money for all that time, I'm sure they made good use of it. As an aside, the principals in the company are the same people who went bankrupt with Stupid Computers in Toronto just over 5 years ago."
"Terribly expensive and slow shipping. $5 and 13+ days (still waiting) to ship a piece of hardware that is smaller than a credit card. Item is comming from USA but I was still charged PST + GST (reported this to IRS as well as Canada Customs and Revenue)."
"My company produces customized computer application boxes, which are designed to do one custom application, well. The end result is that we need to get strange lengths and designs of cables, but we need them at a realistic price. And we need it quickly.
I want to thank the guys at Mycableshop for being able to help us with the laptop style hard drive cables which we needed made to run our application. They were able to suggest a furthur customization which made they work even better - by rounding the cables at nominal extra charge, the cooling systems in the computers worked even better.
If I had one thing to suggest, it would be to include possible customization options on your website - the site does allow us to quote our own custom cables, but not those features.
Delivery time was reasonable, though they use Fedex (we much prefer UPS - but each to his own) we got the cables intact. There were a few defective units, and replacement were expressed out for those.
In summary, we as a small company appreciate vendors who go the extra mile, and make our product launches go smoothers. Kudos."

They didn't have the right combination of parts I needed, gave a quick call, got a real person after a minute or two on the hold line. They were able to locate the keystones and wallplates I needed, required a small backorder wait. IT guys, this place is well recommended, you'll be suprised with the stuff you'll find."

He spent the time to figure out what i need and accutally recommended the cheaper product. This took me by suprise as i am used to people trying to upsell. It ends up that the cables i bought for my Laptop to connect to my TV and Stereo are the perfect ones for me.

"I submitted an order on the 27th of September and was billed on the 28th. To this day I still have yet to receive a tracking number though I have contacted them eight times asking for one. The first time via email was ignored. Each time after that the excuse as to why they could not provide me with one over the phone differed slightly. I was told multiple times that they were going to ship one but New York didn't have any so some warehouse in California was going to ship one yet were out-of-stock and failed to notify the New York store. I was also told on numerous calls that they were getting them in "tomorrow" and would ship one right away. On the eighth time calling I was again told that they were going to ship one tomorrow but they could not provide me with a tracking number.
I am left only to conclude that I have been lied to, on multiple occasions, by this company and unfortunately they have wasted two and a half business weeks worth of time.
I asked to have my order cancelled and was told that I would be refunded within 72 hrs. Hopefully I won't have to get my credit card company involved.
I wanted so much to give these guys a chance for a good review... but sadly this happened. Buyer beware, turn to Ebay for your "hard-to-find" cables. Stay away."
"A six month rating over 9 points? Is everyone else dealing with the same company I am?
This is a nightmare vendor, plain and simple. My order shipped incomplete and there is no indication that the remainder will ever ship. They do not seem to answer the phone, so I have been leaving phone messages and e-mail. Unfortunately, to date, they have never responded to a single voice mail or e-mail, not even once. (And I know that they are receiving my e-mail inquiries because I keep getting back the return receipts.)
I have been very persistent and always polite (more flies with sugar, I always say) but it has now been over a month with no response, and I can only assume that they are going to keep ignoring me -- and keep my money. I don't see any way out of this except to dispute my charge with Visa, which is a monumental pain.
I sure wish I was having the same sort of positive experience that everyone else is having! I can't even get a human being on the phone there -- and I have been trying for weeks now.
I just can't believe others are having positive experiences with this company. I'm not even sure how they are getting people to pick up the phone for them!
