"I placed an order for a Toshiba remote control listed on their web site on Nov 1, 2008 - so you assume they have ready access to said remote.
Two weeks later I contacted their service dept. to follow-up. I had a sense after that call that I was not going to see that remote, as the only thing they offered to do was cancell the order - and as it turned out nearly two months later I was right.
They never followed up on the order unless I asked, and never passed along any info once they claimed to have it, unless I called. I made 3 calls over a 7 week period, finally cancelling the order today 12/22/08. I know cancelling the order (which they were only too happy to do) was probably a mute point - that remote was never going to appear anyway.
Buyer beware if you attempt order from this this website."
"New Remotes, Inc. did not notify me that the OEM tv remote I ordered was unavailable but instead shipped a less expensive generic and did not decrease the $$ amount of my order. I returned the generic but was not initially refunded the outbound shipping\handing cost. After notifying NRI of this and that I had posted a complaint on Resellers it did issue a credit for the outbound shipping\handing cost.
While I am OK with this disposition, I think NRI should have notified me the OEM remote was unavailable and offered a reduced price for the generic. I would have accepted this. Switching remotes without offering a reduced price is bad business.
On a positive side, RMI was prompt in both order receipt, shipping, and resolution.
