"I purchased a Refurbished HP Pavilion from OnSale.com, received the item in a couple of days. Everything looked good.
Tried to turn the computer on, nothing the computer wouldn't even POST. I called customer service and they told me I had to call HP. So I called HP and HP customer service said I had to call OnSale that it was there issue. So I again called OnSale and was finally able to speak to a technical representative.
I told the guy that I had tried 2 different monitors, tried using the onboard video instead of the Radeon card, even tried disconnecting the HD just to get some output to the monitor. I couldn't even get the bios screen to come up. His response to me was can I go into safe mode! WTF how long have you been working on computers? You can't go into safe mode if the freakin OS doesn't load! So then the genius tells me to open the case, but doesn't know what to tell me to look for in the case. I've been an IT guy for over 15 years, so I was able to go through the components and tell him if everything looked in place, what if this wasn't a computer person calling for help they would be screwed..
Anyway after staying on the phone for 30 min's with this so called tech support he says that I have to ship it back to them, and I'll get a refund when they receive the computer. I asked him why I couldn't get a replacement and he just said that's their policy. Frustrated I asked to speak to his manager, after explaing my frustrations to the manger he said he would authorize an exchange this one time for me. All I had to do was call them back when the broken pc was dropped off to UPS, once they could verify it was in the system they would ship me another out right away.
Guess what happened after I called back after dropping off the pc today... The customer service rep who wouldn't stop her labored breathing into the phone said she had no record of this and couldn't find her manager to escalate the issue! The mangaer has to call me back... Needless to say I will never buy anything from OnSale.com. Their prices might be good but their customer service is absolutely horrible and their technical knowledge is ridiculous!
Update, the manager never called so I called customer service back. The rep "Gene x34475" immediately saw that I was supposed to get an exchange. So I asked Gene what was the other rep looking at? He didn't know. I asked him if the female rep who was breathing heavily into the phone added any updates to my ticket or anything about the manager supposedly calling me he said no. I wish I knew her name because she was the last straw that caused me to just ask for my money back and will never do business with OnSale.com again!"

"Sales based on false promises! Papa John's $10 gift card, which I purchased from OnSale.com on Oct 30th, and promised to be sent within 5 to 7 days still has not arrived (it is now day 21). I see that I am not alone on this issue, as many customers are also complaining of non-delivery of OnSale.com "products". Note to Onsale.com: If you do not have something physically in stock, then please do not advertise it for sale on your website!"
