"I placed the order on their website and recieved an automatic email from them asking me to call. I called and sat on hold for about 15 minutes. A guy comes on the phone and after taking my order number tells me that the laptop I ordered had 'just sold out'."
"Truly awful company with the usual deal: camera on back order after declining oppurtunity to purchase unecessary extras. Finally cancelled order and dealt with a more reputable company.
Funny how the three posts below mine are all raving about PCVideo - anyone smell a hint of "fraud"? I though RR had automated detection for that, I'd say it's not working."
"Placed order on internet 8/29/03. Called to confirm order 9/2/03. Called 9/5 because web site stated "please call". They stated computer just had not updated yet. Called 9/9 to get tracking no.- order had not shipped. Promised to mail out next day and proceeded to sell accessories. I declined. Called 9/11 for tracking no.- order had not shipped. They asked me to call credit card co. to see if they had charged my card yet! I knew this had to be a terrible, disorganized co.and I wanted nothing more to do with them. I cancelled order immediately."
"--- Do NOT buy from this company! Warning!! ---
These guys are completely rude and their order
tracking is horrific. I ordered a camera from
them with overnight shipping and specific billing
instructions. The first problem is that they
make you call no matter what you order, so even
when you order something it's not really ordered yet.
Ok, so I call and confirm my little $600.00 order
and also confirm with the sales rep that the
billing notice is there and will be handled. The
guy says no prob, thanks (after trying to sell me
a load of crap I didnt need). Three days pass and
no camera so when I call the guy says there's no
billing instructions (WTF??) and they havent
shipped it yet. Thanks to this company's very
unprofessional practices, I have NO camera for my
vacation. Thanks guys! I hope everyone that buys
from you see's what a horrible seller you are
and spends their money elsewhere. "
"I had a horrific experience with pcvideoonline.com. I placed ordered for a camcorder with them. They never bother to send me any e-mail confirmation about the status of my order. They never replied to the emails I sent to them enquiring about the status of my order. After sending the e-mails repeatedly, I got a short (and irritating) e-mail asking me to call on their customer service telephone number, without even mentioning the name of the person who sent the e-mail (and not mentioning anything about my enquiry). Whenever I called on their customer service phone number, it took an average of 20 to 30 minutes to end the call because they kept my call on hold in between for a long time (this happened everytime i called them). In one incident, the sales executive said he will transfer the line to the manager, and i waited for 15 minutes on-line and finally hung up the phone. They never informed me the details of the shipment.
When i called them again to enquire about the shipment, the sales girl told me that she will get back to me on my phone with the "tracking number" and she never called me back.(When i asked her to e-mail me the shipment details, she told me that it is difficult). The sales executives are extremely unfriendly. The sales executive promised me to ship the product within 2 days and they shipped the item on the 9th day and i got the item on the 11th day thanks to UPS. They didn't send me a proper invoice. I will never go back to them for any buy."
"Giving them a try, will folowup on results.
Who knows."
"This place is a scam. I called to order a Sony DCR-IP5 on two seperate occasions and neither time was my order fulfilled. They push every upgrade imaginable and if you do not take them the camera is on back order forever. The first order I placed was conveniently cancelled without notification so I assumed it was an honest mistake and reordered. The sales rep assured me it was in stock and even checked twice. After I refused any of the extras he tells me that it may not ship for a week. He then tells me it may be 2 weeks and by the end of the conversation I should have it in hand in less than a month. Customer service can be describe as nothing short of pathetic. This boiler room type operation placed me on hold more than 5 times every time I called and I was disconnected repeatedly. I will never buy from this company I will tell every person that I talk to what a hideous company this is."
"I decided to order a Canon EOS 10D digital camera and I found that PCVideo had one of the best prices on the camera. Before ordering, I called them to verify that the camera was not a gray market or refurbished. The salesman told me that the camera was new and it had the full warranty. I placed the order online and received an E-mail advising me to call them to complete the order. I called the number and as expected they tried to get me to buy additional items including an extended warranty and a camera lens. I refused both and told them I only wanted the Camera body. I was advised that delivery would take 3 or 4 weeks. Well I waited 3 weeks and decided to check on my order. After being placed on hold five different times, I was told that there was a delay in shipping the camera because they were waiting for the lens to come in. After advising the supervisor that I did not order the lens, I was then told that the delay was because they were waiting for the camera to be shipped from Japan, but he was kind enough to offer to sell me a U.S. version of the same camera for $300.00 more. He then went on to explain to me that the camera that I ordered would have to be shipped to Japan for warranty service. It did not seem to matter to him when I said that I was led to believe that I had ordered the US model and I was never told that I could not have it serviced in the U.S.
The conversation ended with me canceling the order.
This was the worst online purchasing experience of my life.

"Attempted to purchase a Sony digital camera, followed up on order and was told it shipped. Three weeks later after it didn't arrive, called customer service and was informed that the camera was backordered and could not be shipped for at least another month. Customer service was poor, left on hold for long periods of time, customer service representatives were rude and misrepresented order status on two different occasions. Based on my experience, I would advise against ordering anything from this vendor."
"Their customer service is absolutely horrible. Their reps were very rude to me each time I called and acted like I was bothering them by inquiring about my order. And that's *when* they bother answering the phone. I was hung up on at least 7 times after being placed on hold on their customer service line. That's completely ridiculous. I spent over $1,000 with their company and was treated like dirt over the phone. They sent my camcorder without the extras that I had ordered without notifying me that there would be a delay (in contradiction to their stated policy on the website.) Then they promised that I would receive a package with the accessories yesterday but of course nothing arrived. I'm very disappointed with the lack of customer service and respect that this vendor displays. Lying outright to your customers is no way to run a business. I would *highly* recommend taking your business to a more respectable vendor.
As if this isn't bad enough, they had also been deliberately misleading customers by stating that they were 'Gold' elite members of Resellerratings.com for 4 years running. One look at their ratings and you know this is simply more lying & deceit from PCVideo. I notified RR.com and they had the false award banner removed from PCVideo's website.
UPDATE - After being lied to two more times, by the sales rep and a supervisor, I was finally able to cancel the extra part of my order and am awaiting a refund of the money. The final nail in the coffin occurred when the sales rep told me that the rest of my order had been shipped 'yesterday' & told that it would arrive Tuesday and the supervisor confirmed that this was 'true', asking me to call back later in the day for a tracking number. I called back and was told that 'Oh, the package was accidentally sent yesterday with ground shipping but I've changed it to air delivery so it will still arrive on Tuesday.' After dealing with the company for a week and a half, it was pretty easy to see through this little facade and realize that they had not shipped a thing until I called and complained yet again. Nice to see their supervisors covering for the incompetence of their sales staff. When my package arrived on Tuesday (with no evidence of a changed shipping method, or it having been sent on the day they promised it was), it was, of course, incomplete and missing a promised part AGAIN. At that point, I was so sick of yelling at the company that I gave up and asked for the refund."
"This is the worse company i have ever delt with!! I brough a camcorder from them a month ago on May 19th and the camcorder didnt arrive until mid June. I first tried to order the camcorder online but was instructed to call their office to place the order. This was all a plot to get me to buy more accessories for the camcorder. The sales man was rude and pushy trying to sell me all sort of accessories. After i said no, they told me that the order was placed and that the package will get to me within the next week or so. One week later, i still have not gotten the package. I called the store and got the run around. They told me that the package would be shipped the next day, again. Another week passes and still nothing. At this point i was ready to cancel my order and go with another vendor. I tried calling pcvideo online but another sales man try to sell me more accessories. They even try to sweeten the deal after i told them that i did not want the accessories for the last time with all sort of discounts and promotions. It was at that moment that I told them i wanted to cancel the order but the sales man told me that i places the order over three weeks ago and that i would be charged the 15% restocking fee if i was to cancel. After that conversation, they promised that the camcorder were going to be shipped to me overnite and that i would get it a few days later. Finally, my package arrived but when i opened it they sent me the extra kit and charged my credit card. I was so mad i called the store onces again but got the worse salesman on earth. They started to call me a liar and that i would have to send back the whole shipment if i wanted to cancel my order. On top of that, i would also have to pay for the restocking fee. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. THIS IS A WARNING TO OTHER CONSUMERS, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS STORE AS POSSIBLE!!!! "
"BUYER BEWARE--THIS COMPANY IS RAN BY RIP-OFF ARTISTS!! I called to order a digital camera on May 22 ,2003 with Tom (ext 188). I was also advised that I would receive a 1 hour rapid charger with my purchase for an add'l $74.95. I was advised that I would have my order by the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I rec'd my order on Wednesday May 29. I noticed that I was sent the wrong battery charger so I called and spoke with Tom. He gave me a RMA # and advised me that when his company received the other charger, the correct charger, would be sent out immediately. I went to the post office the following day, May 29, and spent over $9 to return the battery charger to their company. I called on Tuesday, June 3, to confirm that the battery charger had been received by the store. It was received and the person I spoke to in Customer Service advised that the correct battery would be sent out immediately. I called on Thursday June 5, and spoke to Jacob in Customer Service who advise that the charger had not yet been sent out but that he would send it out that day. I confirmed yet again that the Digipower DPS-5000 would be shipped. He said yes and that I would receive it in 3 days. I advised that since I spent $783 with their company and had received the wrong item and had to pay to send it back, that I thought that it should be sent out next day service. He advised that he would do this for me. I also spoke to Tom each time that I called about the battery charger but he always advised that I had to speak to someone in Customer Service but he promised me that this would be taken care of right away. I received the wrong item again on June 6. The item that I received is not even compatible with my camera--I was very upset. I wanted the correct item to be sent out to me immediately. I tried calling the store but received no answer so I called the number on the UPS package and spoke to a gentleman who was very rude that informed me that the store was closed that day because of a holiday. I asked what holiday and he advised that he did not know but that the store was closed. I wrote a note on the website asking that I be sent the correct item--the Digipower DPS-5000 or that my credit card be issued a credit in the amount of $74.95 that I was charged for this item when I placed my order with Tom. I rec'd an autoreply e-mail asking me to contact customer service the next business day. On June 8, I called back to speak to Tom at Ext 188(of course, as will all other calls I had to hold for several minutes!!)--he said that the item I rec'd this time around was BETTER than what I was charged for. I asked how since it was not even compatible with the camera that I had purchased from him!! He "passed the buck" saying that the shipping dept had made the mistake and that if I would call him back on Monday morning he would get it all straightened out. So, I called on Monday, June 9, spoke to Tom, he said that customer service was not in at that time but that if I gave him my number he would call me back in about an hour. Well, about TWO hours later and no call back, I called him again. He gave me a new order number and advised that I would have my charger the next day. Said that I could call back later in the day to get the tracking number. I called & held on the phone yet again for about 40 minutes--he finally came on the phone and advised me that he could not get the tracking number from customer service but assured me that I could have the item the next day. I tried to track the order with their link to UPS--but the order number he gave me would not pull up. Not really surprised at this point, but very upset. I called back the next day on June 10, to get a tracking number, I spoke to Jacob in customer service who advised me that UPS did not come by to pick up from them. He gave me a tracking number. On June 11, after not receiving my order by afternoon, I checked the UPS website and I was very disappointed to learn that the number I had was not a valid number. I called Tom--he said that the charger definitely shipped but that I must have written the number down wrong. Yeah right--I had confirmed it with Jacob the day before. I was switched over to Jersey in customer service who gave me a different number. She confirmed that I would have the item that day. I tracked the number on the website and found that a package from PC Video Online was actually coming my way!! I rec'd the package a few hours later. I was not sent a one hour charger like I had originally ordered on May 22--TWENTY DAYS EARLIER!!), but instead it was a two hour charger. At this point, I do not have any desire to further attempt a correction because I do not want to ever have to deal with these people again. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE THAT I AND OTHER PEOPLE HAVE MADE. "
"Place order for digital camera and it took them one week to process the order and they dont even give me the tracking number. I had to call to get tracking number. Biggest problem is time it takes to ship product. It took me almost two weeks to receive product from the time the order is placed."
"made me call to try and sell more items. then , when no addition items were bought - said it would be 7 -10 days at least even though I paid extra for 3 day shipping."
"I placed an order 4/8/03 and still have not recieved my camera. 5 weeks later after several calls to these people I have no idea if or when I will get this camera. They told me it was shipped then told me it was back ordered, then told me it was shipped. The dates they gave were not consistant and after the last call they told me they would put a mail trace on the camera. I used PC Video Online for their price and now they have the same camera for less, and several other online vendors have lower prices also. They required a phone call to confirm order which turned out to be a ploy to sell me accesories for this camera which I politely turned down. After more research on this company I have realized I have made a big mistake and I hope this review can save anyone else from making the same mistake. "
