"I was looking for a Samsung SH-S243N DVD burner, but no one seemed to carry it except for these guys. I normally do my shopping at Newegg or SuperBiiz, but it was listed as discontinued on both sites.

I had never heard of this company before so I decided to do a little background research. They had a picture of their location on their website, but Google Street View couldn't confirm it visually. ResellerRatings had a listing for these guys, but most reviews were really old and read like reviews meant to boost ratings.

I decided to take a chance anyway because the item was only ~$25 with shipping included. If a problem arose, I'd just do a charge back.

So I placed an order on 12/1 and waited. I received a shipping tracking number shortly, but every time I checked, it wasn't in the system. Another day went by and I still couldn't track it. So on the second day after I placed the order, I called up PC Direct, worrying about my package.

I was placed in touch with someone named Mike (x110) and he said he'd look into the issue. He put me on hold shortly and called the shipping area. They told him the package shipped out and that sometimes the USPS is slow at getting the tracking information online. He assured me that it was handed off to a USPS truck and that I should call back in the event that I didn't receive my package in a few days. Mike was very polite on the phone and patient with my request. He brought resolution to my concern very quickly.

Needless to say, I did receive my package in another day and the tracking information did eventually make its way to the USPS website.

The package showed no signs of mishandling or physical damage. The part worked as intended in a new computer that I built.

Overall, I had an excellent experience with PC Direct and I plan to do more business with them in the future."
