"I ordered a part on partsamerica.com and choose instore pickup in their Daly City Kragen store. I went there, and they could not find the product. The customer service at the Kragen store on was rude. No apologies, just we'll credit your card. Thanks for going above and beyond. As I was out the door one of the 2 younger employees were later dude then laughed. Poor customer service, poor inventory control.

"Ordered a few parts to get the free shipping. Everything was shipped within a couple days of order. Everything I received was in good condition."
"I placed an order for a starter rebuild kit, and on the website it showed a plunger assembly and terminal contacts. The description showed this as well. What I received was a plunger assembly without terminal contacts. I shot off an email to customer service, hoping they would just send out the contacts from another set to me, and send the missing set back to the manufacturer. The reply I got stated to drive out to the store, and exchange the product. THAT DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF ORDERING ONLINE!
With such rising gas prices ($4 a gallon), I decided that there should be an alternative method, and called the person that replied to my email directly. She stated that the manufacturer will only send new products out when they receive the old one, and it was up to me to get that done. Wait, what's the point in purchasing from a retailer now? Why am I giving my money to PartsAmerica -- shouldn't I just deal with the manufacturer from the start?
I stated that this was inadequate as I would be wasting my time and money (gas) going out to the store, and I would still have to wait a week to get the part! What a waste of my time. All this for a $17 part. Yes, $17. I will end up wasting $8 in gas, and over an hour of my time just because of these clowns. They didn't offer me any kind of incentive to make up for this, just "priority" shipping which just doesn't do it for me. I've spent hundreds at PartsAmerica stores (Kragen), and have gotten nothing but crap from them. All of my automotive costs will be going to other retailers now (RockAuto)."
"I just bought a OBD2 scanner from them. No problems, I had the scanner in hand within a week. The free shipping on this item was a nice plus too. The Innova 3100a code scanner works great also."
"I order an OBD2 scanner. Order was processed and shipped promptly. Received product within 2 days and it was exactly what I ordered. No problem at all with order or product. "
"Placed order online and got free shipping because the total was over $50. Items arrived on 3 separate days from 3 separate warehouses, in reasonable time and condition. Did receive one item that was the wrong part. This was an issue with the vendor, not PartsAmerica. P/A did send a duplicate shipment of this part, for which I was not charged. When I tried to return the items to an Advance Auto store, as allowed by the site, I was informed that the one person in the store who knew how to do internet returns wouldn't be in until the next day. Wound up spending $10 to ship items back, because the nearest store is a fair distance. "
"The site is best used as a research tool for parts price, and local availability. Then if you have a local Kragen, order, and go pickup."
"Purchased water pump. No problems. No need to contact merchant for problems."
"Ordered a set of front and rear brake rotors. First they cancelled the rear ones and substituted a set a front rotors. Great, so now I have 4 front rotors. I call them up and get the whole "Oh wow this has never happened before" speach and they re-added a new set of front rotors. Two days later they cancelled the new parts. I will never buy from these people ever again."
"Well I purchased auto parts to do a tune up on my car. Great prices and good selections. I had a small problem though, the website was glitchy so I had to call them to complete the order. Then I got an email confirming everything. A couple of days later, I got another email saying that the order had been delayed and will ship in a couple of days. Fine, no big deal. But finally when they did ship, I got another email with the order confirmation. Not all the stuff I ordered were on that confirmation and my credit card statement didn't match the price of the stuff I had ordered. It was less. I assumed that they accidently didn't get my complete order. So I bought the parts that weren't on the invoice somewhere else. It turns out, the reason they weren't on the invoice is because they shipped the things not on the invoice the same day they said my order had been delayed. They did not bother to tell me that they had partially shipped some of my items so I totally thought they just messed up the order. I guess what I am saying is, their method of letting customers know the status of their items sucks big time. I did receive all the items I had paid for. "
