If there is actually a back order, reach out to the customer explaining what is actually on back order. In my case, it was just a washer that was back ordered and would not stop the repair, as I still have the old one. If I had not requested an order update 8 days after the order, I wonder if I would have received a status update? Also, the reply email - to my request stated the part was back ordered into July! Everything is good but maybe a follow-up on orders on your end would be better than waiting for the customer to reach out."
