"Heinous. I used the Name Your Own Price service for a 3.5 star hotel. Upon reading the reviews, I learned that the hotel is full of outdated furniture, worn carpets, dirty carpets, bugs in the room, stains on the sheets, and moldy bathrooms. Priceline refuses to do anything for me, insisting that they are "confident" the hotel will meet or exceed my expectations. I expect a clean, safe room, and this does not sound clean or safe at all."
"Got TOTALLY SCAMMED BY PRICELINE.. They set me up in the ONLY hotel at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport that does not allow pets.
Discount.. THINK AGAIN.. lowest online price is $126 per night.. lowest price per phone is $110 per night..
What did I get from Priceline ?? $120 per night (that's right I savea whopping $6 per night) AND.. I can't even stay at the hotel because that 1 particular hotel does not allow pets !! The other 5 hotels in the area all allow pets.
Priceline WILL NOT get me another hotel OR refund me my money and blames the hotel !! The hotel states that ONLY Priceline can fix the problem...
DO NOT deal with Priceline as there are many other better websites for travel.
FOUND OUT 1 day before departure that the hotel will not allow me to register as I have pets..... NICE GOING PRICELINE !!! "
"It was horrible. I used the name your own price function. The hotel I won was supposed to have certain features according to Priceline's own rating system, but it in fact did not. Spent forever on the telephone with them and they admit that the hotel does not have the amenities that they say it should have. What they offered meant I either had to stay at an inferior hotel, or lose money on the deal. Not fair or right. I would warn others to stay away from name your own price because the hotels apparently don't even have the amenities that Priceline say they will have."
"I got the best deal using my negotiating skills!!! My bid of 33 dollars a night for 5 nights, less than 200 bucks for the Extended Stay in Anaheim at Disneyland. For some reason it's only a 1 star hotel yet it has a full kitchen. Thank you Priceline!!!!"
"Horrible experience with Priceline.com. Use it with care and at own risk. You must understand that there is zero customer service after they get your money and no refunds under any circumstances. The hotel room was not acceptable. "3 stars" --NOT!! We stayed five minutes, checked out and went down the street. And of course there are no refunds with priceline.com so we lost the cost of the priceline.com purchase and then had to pay for the other hotel room. Never again will we use priceline.com!"
"Get amazing deals on priceline all the time. Don't be afraid to lowball it!"
"I love Priceline! The site is so eaasy to use, and streamlined so that I can find what I am looking for quickly and easily. I have a busy schedule, so that faster I can find good deals and book the trip the better. I dont feel the need to shop around (waste of my time) with Priceline, as I know their deals are always the best!"
"We used priceline to book two hotels. We loved it. This website gives you great deals when you “name your own priceâ€. Both hotels were very clean and very nice. However I know longer use Priceline which is unfortunate because when you “name your own price†you can’t pick pet friendly hotels, or the type of room (two queen beds, etc). I wish Priceline would fix this so I could go back to naming my own price, which saves lots of money."
"This was such a horrible experience. My boyfriend and I made reservations for a room for 1 night. When I made the reservation I assumed if our plans had changed it would be no big deal, it was a Thursday, there would be no reason they would be booked or anything. I was wrong.
I called customer service to see if we could switch days, the woman refused to let me speak to a supervisor and refused to allow us to switch days.
I called the hotel to see if it would be an issue to switch nights, and they explained that if it were up to them it wouldn't be an issue, however since we went through priceline we had to deal with them in order to switch nights, but they were not booked.
I called priceline again and they still would not allow me to switch nights. I exchanged words with the customer service woman.
Horrible experience, it was an awful day. It ruined our vacation. Don't use them."
"NEVER use Priceline. Once they have your charge card number/account number you are at their mercy.
I booked a stay at a Knights Inn for three days through Priceline four weeks in advance. Well, when I told my friends that I was going to visit where I had booked, they went ballistic. This motel was being used to house transients and homeless through a county contract and was, in their opinion, the most dangerous place in a 50 mile radius to stay. Immediately contacted Knights Inn and Priceline to cancel (THREE WEEKS IN ADVANCE).
Despite Priceline's policy of no charges for cancellation and Knight's Inn corporate policy of 72 hour no penalty cancellation policy, Priceline still charged me the ENTIRE AMOUNT, even though I cancelled weeks in advance.
Had a smiliar situation with Orbitz, changing dates, etc. and there was no problem. Will always deal with Orbitz in the future, great customer service.
I contacted my bank about the charge and even though Priceline credited the money back into my account initially, they turned around and recharged me. Still fighting this."
