"went online, did extensive research& picked a Nikon D5000. spent another week checking Ebay, Amazon, etc. Found Primocameras under Nextag& other listings. Went on price, they were close to others only slightly lower, same freebies and same free shipping. Was not really in any hurry so 7-9days wasnt bad. THEN the trauma begins. "James" called on easter Sunday for the battery upsell. Got him down some on price&went with it. Said they were closed for passover 2days & saw postings on 4/7/10. went to my account nothing itemized pricewise but items listed individual &total on bottom. Tagged sent out for drop ship.
On 4/21/10 I saw nothing of UPS which was their shipper. Tried to call CS & got their endless loop of 20 min Que. Hung up after 20 mins. got home &started Emails, all bounced back undeliverable. E adress for looks only. Called salesman got voicemail. Next step was to call credit card ,file fraud complaint. Two days later got Email saying shipped FEDEX 4/23/10. Arrived next day,all items promised there. Battery was Zeikos not Nikon but was much higher AH. still not worth what charged. Relieved to get my correct order. Later went to Nikon to register product & found it was grey market ,not eligable for extended warrenty, which I never buy anyway. GOOD THING.
Save alot of grey hair &buy elsewhere "
"Placed a order with Primo Camera for a Sony HDR-CX110 camera April 12 and receiver it as described April 23. Very pleasant to deal with and very good prices. Would definitely purchase from them again."
"Well I ordered my camera on 4/09/10 and I got the free shipping which they say they deliver within 1-2 days after processing and then I would have to wait another 7-9 business days for the delivery. Well today is 04/26/10, so you do the math. I called them about my order and they keep giving me different shipping dates. Then when I asked to speak with the manager, he hangs up on me. This is a very unprofessional company, they did not even give me an order number or a shipping confirmation email. I really regret spending money with them and warn anyone who even considers. They have you think they are the cheapest and then they contact you 2 days after you placed your order to try to sell you more stuff. They told me the battery coming with the camera was a 30 min battery and had a limited warranty. So I ended up getting the 4 hr battery and warranty and by the time you do all that you are paying more for the camera then the original price. So go either to your local camera shop or buy from a more reputable company. They are very unprofessional and if you do not take my word for it, you will see for yourself."
"PLEASE READ THIS: If you are even considering buying anything from this company, I urge you to try and reach someone in their customer service department.
No matter the day or hour, you will only reach a recording saying "You have reached our customer service department. Unfortunately we are closed. Our regular business hours are m-th 11-5p, f 11-3p and we are closed saturday and sunday, thank you for calling" then it hangs up. That should have been MY FIRST CLUE these guys were scammer.
NOTE: This is a long (and ongoing) story - this is the condensed version of multiple phone calls and lies from PRIMO CAMERAS.
It all starts with an email about billing, then a phone call about "premium batteries" and from there, then they charged my credit card and said they were "sending my order" and too late to cancel without being charged the 15% restocking fee, 3 weeks later I still had no invoice and no camera but still out the $. Now I received a "shipping confirmation" and partial invoice for $100.99 more than our agreed upon price, with no invoice # on the email, and they won't respond to any emails - website contact forms I've filled out - or voice messages I've left.
--------------------
Here's a more expanded version with details I've left out in the above summary
--------------------
I originally ordered the 7d (and the website said in stock) then I got an email saying:
-----------------------------
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your purchase, because of the high value of your order, please contact us at 1-***-***-**** x358 to confirm your order before we ship it. We apologize for this inconvenience, but because of increasing concern over fraudulent online purchases, we find it necessary to confirm all high value purchases.
Please contact us at your earliest convenience so that we can process your order. Also, if you provided a shipping address that is different from your billing address, we may ask you to contact your credit card's bank (the phone number is listed on the back of your credit card) and add the shipping address as an "alternate shipping address". This is a simple procedure and we will be happy to provide more information about it if you call us.
We hope to hear from you soon and look forward to providing you with the quality products and service you deserve.
Sincerely
Ken

Please note that of the 3 times I called and entered that extension and asked for Ken, all three times I reached different people and they all said their names were "Ken".
_____________________________
I called and they informed me that "I had ordered the low capacity battery and that I need to upgrade". I politely declined the upgrade and that's when he said that "it looks like we are out of that camera and will be a few weeks until it comes in" also "we have to charge your credit card now and not when we actually ship the camera". I said NO. Then I asked about ordering the Canon T2i - but same issue. Unless I pay a super high price to "upgrade to the Canon High Capacity battery and charger" the camera was "out of stock". So then i asked about the Canon 50d. The website advertises $739 and since I already have a 30d and 5d (that use the same batteries) I absolutely wasn't going to pay for "premium" batteries. They said they had the camera and would send it out right away (takes a couple days for processing and 7-9 day shipping. -BUT- He would upgrade the shipping for free.
I asked for Ken to email me an invoice for my business records- he asked "why do you need one? It would just say the same thing I told you." I insisted- repeatedly and he finally said he would send me the invoice.
Since I hadn't received an invoice or order confirmation, I figured they hadn't done anything. However, I checked my credit card company and they had charged me not the stated 739 but actually 839. I called them up and their customer service line never reaches a real person. So I leave messages. I also fill out their "Contact Us" form on their site. I also email them.
I am really glad that I didn't pay with a debit card, because at least with my credit card I have more power to get my money back from these crooks.
I urge anyone who is contemplating buying from these people anything- DON'T!!! You won't get the camera you want for less money.
------------------------------
I'll update this post when I get my money back.
------------------------------
UPDATE April 26th, 2010
I receive an email saying the camera had JUST shipped! Problem? This is the first "invoice" like email and it says the $839.99 and not our agreed upon (website advertised) $739!
Here is a direct copy of a part of the email:
"If any changes are necessary you MUST contact us via PHONE website, If any changes are necessary you MUST contact us via PHONE ONLY, at 1-***-***-****"
Note: No matter the day or hour, you will only reach a recording saying "You have reached our customer service department. Unfortunately we are closed. Our regular business hours are m-th 11-5p, f 11-3p and we are closed saturday and sunday, thank you for calling" then it hangs up.
(apparently they would prefer overcharging customers like me rather than issue a refund like I asked...) "
"i ordered this and they said the order was on the way. Then they told me they had to have the order come dropped from there vender. They also went and took our money out of the account without having the item in stock and they told me the item was in the warehouse and it was shipped. This was on the 8th of april. I waited till tuesday and still had no tracking no. Then they told me it would be 2 weeks before they could get the item. At this point they said they could refund my money. This was on the following wednesday. They managed to hold on my money without the merchandice till april 19th. I received the money 3 days later into my account. This practice goes on a lot and i'm tired of getting trapped into this again."
"ALERT!!!! ALERT!!!! WHAT A SCAM THIS COMPANY IS RUNNING.>>>>THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR SHIPPING INS. 4%. IT'S A STATE LAW THE SALESMEN SAID???? THEY SAY FREE SHIPPING AND HANDLING ON THE WEB SITE!!!! DO NOT TRUST ANY OF THE GOOD REVIEWS???? I SPENT HOURS ON THE PHONE AND NEVER DID GET MY CAMERA!!!!!! SCAM SCAM"
"I placed this order and have asked several times from customer service for itemized invoice. They charged me $40 for "insurance", shipping was listed as "free" for ground 7-9 days. The order has not arrived as of this writing. I was told that the "insurance" was a mandatory charge, even though I said I did not want it. I still have not recieved an itemized invoice showing individual prices for the items ordered, which only totaled $619 plus a filter for $39 which I aslo said I did not want but was supposedly included for both camera and lens ordered at the "Special" price of $39. The price of the camera and lens was very good, however they had "hidden" charges that I feel are unfair. ToDay I recieved the Canon Camera and Lens. The lens was in a plain white cardboard box wrapped in small bubble plastic,no warranty card, Canon info, etc. When I called them they said it was a new lens, I asked to have it returned and replaced with a new lens in a Canon box, They refused and offered me to return it with an RA, That I would recieve this afternoon. I have recieved nothing. This company is very poor at delivery as advertised and Customer Service is terrible."

"I placed an order for Canon T2i body only with Primo Cameras on April 9, 2010. A few days later I received an email from Ken asking to call him for the confirmation of the order. During our conversation Ken told me that the battery that was coming with the camera was only 30 minute and I needed to upgrade it by paying $80 to get a retail package. I was very surprised that the package on the website was not the retail. The price after additional $80 would be higher than what other retailers offered. I told Ken that I also wanted to buy Canon 18-135mm lens which he quoted for $50 above the price listed on their website. I told him that the price on the website was $295 with the cleaning kit. By the end of the discussion he sold me the "Executive Package" which included Canon t2i, Canon 18-135 lens, 4G High Speed card, High resolution filter and a few other accessories for $1,285. The price was OK, so I accepted the offer. My credit card was immediately charged for the whole amount.
A few days passed and I never heard back about the shipment information such as a tracking code. I was getting worried. I read a few reviews about them which were mixed. I thought there could be contamination of the reviews with the selection bias (i.e. people with the bad experience tend to complain more) so I decided to call them.
I talked to Mike who referred me to Kevin. They both assured me that I would receive the package after the weekend. Again, because they dropped the package at the post office, they said that they did not have the tracking code.
A week later, today, I called them again. I was again assured that the package would arrive by the end of this week, April 22nd the latest. I promised Kevin that if I do not receive the package in full by the end of this week I will cancel the order with my credit card, complain to BBB, leave them nasty reviews everywhere I can, and do whatever it takes to stop other purchasers from buying from Primo Cameras. On the other hand, if I do get the package I will leave them good reviews and remain their long-term customer.
Please stay tuned,
---------------------------------
I got a call today from Kevin. He told me that there were some problems with the ground shipping and that Primo Cameras will send me my package with Fedex. Kevin apologized a few times and was nice over the phone.
A few moments late Thomas called and gave me the tracking code for Fedex. Thomas also apologized and was nice over the phone.
Later this evening I checked the tracking code. The package should arrive tomorrow, April 22nd.
I hope I will receive everything that was in the order.
Please stay tuned as I will update this post after I receive my camera, lens and other accessories.
---------------------------------------
Final Update
I received my camera today via Fedex. All items were in place. Camera's box looked like it has been opened before, but the contents were new. I was not impressed by the quality of the accessories; cleaning kit, mini tripod, camera bag are very generic and I would suggest that you do not buy them with your camera purchase.
Other than the quality of accessories that came with the camera I am happy with my purchase and I would recommend Primo Cameras.
Here are a few advices for future buyers:
- know exactly what you want to purchase and do not order additional accessories that you will not need
- get Fedex shipping so that you can track your order shipment
- call Kevin if you encounter any problem, he is great
I hope my post was helpful,
Novruz"
"SCAM! DO NOT ORDER!!! Ordered Canon T2i camera April 7. Received e-mail from Ken acknowledging my order with a note for me to call him to confirm. I did so. At which point he told me I needed an upgrade for the camera to receive software and a better battery. The total cost went up by $120. I told Ken to forget it. Then he said he could give it to me for $859.99. I cancelled the order! When I looked at my CC statement I had been billed for that amount. I called and was transferred 3 times until I spoke to Thomas Carpenter. I told him I wanted the $ back in my account asap. He said the camera had already been drop shipped. I told him I had never rec'd a confirmation. He said he would call me back with confirmation #. He did. I looked it up on USPS - no such number! They are a bunch of Yankees! Don't know when/if I will get my $ back!!!"
"Getting quite the runaround. It is April 14th and I still have no TV. I ordered a Panasonic 58" plasma TV on March 27th. The money was extracted from my bank account almost immediately. I was told today that the TV was damaged and being returned to the store. Then I will get a refund a week later. I have doubts about if the TV was ever shipped because I never was notified that the TV was shipped. It should be illegal to tie my money up for a month."
"When I ordered my Panasonic DSC-ZS7 I did so because the price was considerably lower than any other site and offered a case, tripod and other goodies. I also purchased a 3-year service warranty with the promise of a second battery. I placed my order on the night of April 1st and requested 3 day shipping, paying extra for it. Finally several days past my expected delivery date I received an email with a Fedex Tracking number. When the order came after 8 days, it did not have the extra battery or the additional promotional items. At the end of two weeks, I called customer service and found the representative very helpful. He placed a refund request on my credit card for the shipping charges and since the batttery was back ordered, he credited me with the additional cost of the battery. He also placed a re-send order on the promo package, since I had not received it. Though I was initially dissatisfied when my order did not arrive on time, the customer service representative was helpful and did all that was required to satisfy me and make the purchase successful. I will re-use Primo Cameras for my next camera purchase."
"Primo does not stock items it lists as "available" on the internet. The sales and customer service reps will say items are in stock when they have to order them in. Don't bother with EMail to check on items. The don't answer. I ordered a Video Camera and a week later it was still backordered. When I finally got to customer (no) service, they explained they had "oversold" and it would be 2-3 weeks getting the camera. I cancelled the order. "
"I never write any review before because the purchases that I made in the past are either good or OK. This is my first because this is the worst merchant that I ever have to deal with.
Like some other customers, I chose PrimoCameras (www.primocameras.com) because their price was the lowest and I was hoping that I can receive the product within a reasonable time.
They stated in their web, ship item in 7-9 business days but they didn't. I ordered my camcorder on March 2, 2010, they charged my credit card the next day. So I expected that I will receive
it in about 7-9 business days after they charged my card. But as of today, 1 month already past. I tried to contact them on emails or phone, never received any response.
I finally have to call my credit card to refuse the charge because I never received it. Don't take chances, if the item they sell is cheaper than the other, they'll never send it to you.
"
"DON`T TRUST THEM! Initially I chose PrimoCameras (www.primocameras.com) because their price was the lowest and that they listed the camera (Nikon D90) as in stock + free delivery in 7 to 9 days. However, it took them more than 1 month to deliver. During that time I called them numerous times and each time they said something like “You will have it in a couple of days”.
I realized from their customer service that they actually didn´t have the camera “In Stock” - even though they list it as such. Furthermore, the 7 to 9 days are from the date they are finished processing your order at their office which apparently can take weeks (again according to their call center). I never received any e-mails from them e.g. that the order was shipped etc. - just the first order confirmation.
Don´t believe when their website states that they have 100% positive ratings from Nextag, Amazon etc. A quick google search will prove differently. I give them 1 star because they actually did deliver at the promised price, but I will never buy from them again and cannot recommend them to anyone (they use wrongful info to make you buy)."
