"I received a defective replacement device and was not offered acknowledgement or compensation for the time I spent at the cell phone store setting up my new phone. This has not been an efficient replacement process. "
"Great time frame getting new phone."
"Protectcell was very helpful and friendly when I broke my phone and needed a new one. My new phone had gotten put on backorder, but they were nice enough to let me know. Plus, when I asked if there had been an estimated delivery date a couple weeks later, they were quick to respond."
"DO NOT USE PROTECTCELL
I sent my S3 back in for the $150 refund that I was promised when I signed up. They looked at my phone and determined that it would not charge (even though it was charging the day before I sent it in). I refused to take the $75 they offered me because I found out that it was an software issue when the S3 upgraded (found in a Verizon forum), all they had to do to fix was factory reset. Upon telling them this, they refused to factory reset my phone and said that they would send it back for me to do the factory reset. I said that was a waste of time, but sure I can do that. They called back (voicemail) a couple days later and said I had a day to accept the $75 offer. Confused I called again, this time I wanted to speak with a manager since it appeared the rude customer rep had no idea what was going on. The rep promised one would call me within 2 business days, waited 4 days and chatted with them again where they said "So sorry they will call tomorrow". Waited another 3 days and chatted. This person said a manager would not be calling and if they sent the phone back I could not participate in the buyback program anymore (the only reason I bought this stupid plan). I had to take the $75 instead of the $150 since I doubt I could get much more for an S3. THIS IS THEFT. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. LIARS. Very rude customer service who do not care about you or their promises."
"The service was okay but I was disappointed with the length of time it took to get my phone. When I called the autoattendant recording urged me to go on-line to file a claim, which I did. I received an email the next day telling me I needed to call in to make payment arrangements! The phone was delivered by Fed EX and they left it way down by the road next to my mailbox where anyone could have picked it up. It was anything but a secure delivery. All in all, glad I had the insurance to replace the phone."
"Hassel free, this is the second time I have used Protectcell and had no issues at all. Product delivered as was told and no issues with activation of either phones. Great job and will continue to use them."
"Fast replacement as well as an efficient and friendly service agent. If only the deductable was a little lower the process would be perfect!"
"WHAT A CROC OF BS. WHEN I PURCHASED MY PHONE I HAD MY CARRIER PUT FULL COVERAGE PROTECTCELL PLAN BECAUSE THEY SAID IF ANYTHING HAPPENED THEY WOULD SHIP ME OUT A NEW PHONE IN TWO DAYS.
SO WHEN MY PHONE GOT LOST I CALLED AND MADE A CLAIM AT WHICH TIME I WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A NEW PHONE BY TUESDAY BECAUSE IT WAS FRIDAY AND A WEEKEND.
BUT INSTEAD OF A PHONE I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL TELLING ME MY PHONE WAS BACK ORDERED WITH A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL IF I HAD QUESTIONS. SO ON WEDNESDAY (NOW 6 DAYS WITH OUT A PHONE) I CALLED TO FIND OUT STATUS AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE STILL IN BACK ORDER BUT THEY WOULD LOOK INTO AND SEND IT UP TO THEIR SUPERVISOR TO SEE IF THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEND A NEWER VERSION OF THE SAME PHONE AND THAT THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING EITHER THAT DAY OR THE NEXT MORNING. THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME SO ON THURSDAY (7TH DAY) I CALLED AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD FAST TRACK GETTING A SUPERVISOR TO CONTACT FIRST THING FRIDAY. AGAIN DID NOT HEAR FROM THEM SO I CALLED AGAIN (8TH DAY) COMPLAINING AND FINALLY GOT A SUPERVISOR. ONLY TO BE OFFERED A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PHONE (A DOWNGRADE WHICH I DECLINED BECAUSE I NEEDED MY NOTE II W/THE LARGER SCREEN BECAUSE OF DISABILITIES). AT THAT TIME BECAUSE MY NOTE II WAS STILL BACK ORDERED AND THEY HAD NO IDEA WHEN IT WOULD COME IN AND WAS TOLD IT COULD BE 1 OR MAYBE 2 WEEK FOR ALL THEY KNEW.
I AGAIN ASKED FOR THE NOTE III (NEWER BUT SAME MODEL W/LARGER SCREEN) TO COMPENSATE FOR ALL THE HASSLE I HAVE HAD TO GO THRU.
AT THAT POINT EVELYN SAID RUDELY "IF I DIDN'T WANT WHAT THEY WERE OFFERING THEN I COULD JUST WAIT TILL WHEN EVER THEY GOT MY PHONE". (EVEN IF THEY HAD IT AT VERY LEAST I WOULDN'T GET IT TILL TUESDAY WHICH WOULD BE 12 DAYS). SO I ASKED TO TALK TO HERE SUPERVISOR. SHE SAID SHE WAS THE SUPERVISOR SO I ASKED FOR WHO SHE ANSWERS TO. HE REPLY WAS NO ONE WAS THERE AT THIS TIME, SO I ASKED FOR HIS CONTACT INFOR AND SHE SAID OK AND GAVE ME A NUMBER WHICH WAS NOTHING MORE THAN THE SAME NUMBER YOU CALL FOR THE MAIN SWITCHBOARD.
I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE SIGNING UP TO PROTECTCELL. ALL THEY HAVE DONE SO FAR WAS GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND. "
"Easy to use claim service. Quick shipping of new phone. No hassles, no questions. Well worth the investment. "
"After having my new phone for a year without any accidents, I was questioning if the ProtectCell plan I bought was worth it. But when when my phone mysteriously vanished I couldn't be happier. With a year left before my upgrade this was the cheapest option, and can't see myself buying a smartphone without buying the ProtectCell plan too. The process of getting the new phone was cumbersome for me though, as I had no phone to call, but finally made it through and they were able to ship one out nice and fast. "
"I was unsure about buying insurance for my Galaxy S4 a year ago, but ultimately decided it was a good idea. Fortunate for me because within a week of owning my brand new phone it was slightly damaged, but enough to own a phone with a screen that doesn't turn on. I was able to pay my deductible (which was explained to me when I bought the plan) and received a replacement overnight. Call it bad luck, but a year later that phone was stolen and I assumed it wasn't going to be covered by the plan. SURE ENOUGH it was! Again I had to pay a moderate deductible, but it was better than shelling out $500 for a new phone or taking my chances on eBay or Craigslist. I received my new replacement phone within a couple days and I'm connected to the world once again. ProtectCell came through for me when I really needed it. "
"They send out broke merchandise and trying to get ahold of them to get a working phone is near impossible. I would only recommend them if you want to pay for a broken phone and not have available customer service."
"Terrible service, impossible to talk to anyone without being on hold for 30 minutes. Sent me a replacement iphone with no sim card and an "administrative" fee of $150 plus the 199 plan cost. In my opinion, not worth the headache or money."
"When my cell phone was damaged by water, I called ProtectCell to request a replacement phone. It was my first experience using this service. I was disappointed to find out that I had to pay $125 fee for the replacement phone, after already paying something like $120 last year for the ProtectCell plan. This was especially so, since the phone I damaged was only $49.99 with the 2 year contract I signed with Verizon.
The customer service rep was courteous on the phone when I stated both the premium and the fee was high, and offered to waive the $30 expedited 2 day shipping charge (standard shipping would have taken 5 days to get to me). For whatever reason, the replacement phone still took 5 days to get to me. I turned it on last night and there is something wrong with the phone. It locks up and powers down every few minutes. So it looks like I will have to call back and again request a new one."
"You guys sent me the wrong phone after I clearly told you which phone I have. What a disappointment!!"
