"BUYERS BEWARE! My experience with RK Computers was downright awful. I bought a palm rest/touchpad panel from them to replace mine which was starting to fail. They sent me one that didn't work. It was the right part for my model which was verified with my serial number and it wasn't my doing because as soon as I plugged the old one back in, it worked. I tried to get a return, but since I bought it from their store and not Ebay, they wouldn't let me. They wanted me to send the part back to them for “testing” so I offered to send the whole laptop.
After it was shipped there, they told me that by the next Monday, they would look at it. That was a week after it got there and then they still took to Tuesday to look at it. All of sudden my “VGA was corrupt and there are parts rattling around inside”. The computer is five years old, but I babied the graphics card, never overclocked it, and always ran it on 2d clocks. They quickly tried to blame the shipping company. Somehow, the screen didn't break and the box was in perfect shape, but the graphics card had been damaged?
Communication with them was downright terrible, the guy, who never gave his name, told me that he only responded after business hours. At some point they took it apart. I'm not sure why, since they claimed it couldn't be fixed, but this meant they had to put it back together, taking even more time to get it back to me. It took almost 2 months to get back to me! That's ridiculous for a computer that they couldn't fix and the only reason I got it that soon was because I had to nag them to send it back. I also had to pay them for doing nothing. By the way, I got it back and there were no parts rattling around inside of it.
You decide if you want to trust this place. I wouldn't."

"I bought a power cord on a Saturday, and did expedited 2nd day air shipping hoping I'd get it by Tuesday, or at least by Wednesday since that's when I really needed it. But they have a 2-3 business day waiting period before they ship extra parts and I didn't get it until Friday. Odd policy that completely defeated the purpose of me paying extra for expedited shipping, but it is what it is. That said, the power cord works, perfectly fine."

"I ordered a custom made gaming laptop from RK computers, and it is absolutely fantastic, definitely worth the money. The customer service is second to none, I mean absolutely amazing.
I had a technical problem (completely my own fault, I accidentally unplugged the power and expected my video card to run the same, but with higher-end video card you will need to have your power plugged in for full performance, or something along those lines), and when I called customer service my call was answered immediately. NO AUTOMATED BS, no wait time, a real live person on the phone waiting to help me out. A few minutes later he even went through the trouble of calling me back to suggest more solutions.
So based off my experience, I love RK computers because it's reasonably priced (unlike Alienware which would is almost double the price for basically the same product). And because you feel like the employees there are actually wanting to help you and give you a better product as opposed to "just being there for a paycheck" like so many other companies.

"I was very pleased with RK Computers. This was my first purchase from them. I ordered a second generation Intel chip, the 2920, which is currently the most expensive and highest performing chip. They contacted me by email and asked why I needed the chip. They told me that it wears down the battery charge more quickly than the next lower chip and that most people don't need it. So even though it required a change to my order, and it means that the price of my laptop would be less than if they hadn't emailed me, they did it anyway. When the computer arrived, there were some Post-It notes on a software disc and on the computer to inform me about some things that needed to be done and why. This is the type of personal, customer-interested attention, that is rarely seen anymore. By the way, my new laptop is awesome. I would definitely do business with RK Computers again."

I was handed a bill for $43.50 "brokerage fee" from UPS, this is after I already paid $28.94 shipping. I wish I had known there would be this extra charge when the shipping costs were supplied. I would suggest in the future that you inform your customers from out of the country that UPS charges as much to deliver the part as the part itself costs."
"I broke a couple components on my MSI notebook. I needed a bottom-door assembly as well as an optical-drive bezel. RK had the bezel in stock and was able to special order the door from MSI. Since the door assembly was not part of the company's inventory, I had to place my order by phone. This was OK, except that I never received any sort of confirmation e-mail. The package arrived on time, but when I opened the box, it smelled like someone smoked a pack of cigarettes inside it. RK says it might be a result of the packing materials they use, and the smell went away after I aired out the parts for a few hours. The company promises they will look into this, and hopefully they will find a solution. Regardless, RK Computers delivered what they promised, and you can't ask for more."
