"This company could not possibly be any worse. They have owed me $575 from a warranty and have been making up lies for nearly 5 months about why I haven't received it. When you call, the customer service representatives sound as if they are half asleep and could not care any less about your inquiry. I have also left over 8 messages, NONE of which have been returned. George in accounting claims that the check was sent twice but was returned both times due to having the wrong address. After it was allegedly returned the first time, no one bothered to call me to confirm my address and just sent it back to the same wrong address (or so he says). Don't purchase a warranty from this company if you ever plan on getting your money!! "

"I originally posted a negative review about my experience with Repair Tech. Since that time I have been contacted by the owner of the company and am on a path to have my claim fullfilled. It hasn't been a great experience to say the least, but i am now getting the level of service I expected to begin with."

"BEWARE!!!!!!
I have a 5 year Platinum Service Contract with Repair Tech. (for about 1 yr now)
I sent my camera to RepairTech as it was not focusing correctly on 10-16-08 in the provided prepaid box.
After about 2 weeks I started to call to find out the status of my camera, they didn't have any clue.
I emailed and got a written response which disclosed that they had sent my camera to Precision Camera to be repaired.
When I contacted Precision Camera I found my camera was fixed and they were waiting for an authorization from Repair Tech, (apparently for payment)
I contacted RepairTech again and was told this was a "Manager Issue".
I next spoke to a Mgr (name-?)he said my camera would be sent right away.
A week later Precision Camera still has no approval... I then call RepairTech and speek to a manager named Iman who assured me that they were backed up due to the Jewish Holidays and that he would handle it himself and I would have my camera in 3 days. (that was 11-18-08)
Now it's 11-24-08 and Precision Camera tells me that they still don't have an approval from RepairTech.
Here's some "Good News" Precision Camera will send me my camera if I will pay for the repairs they made to my camera $164.13
Now I'm on hold to speak to Iman to inform him that I'm going to the court house and file suit to be reimbursed for my camera and contract cost and damages and filing fees. (due to high call volume there is a 25 minute wait)

"The first thing you need to know in dealing with this company is they do not actually do the repairs at the site you send the product (laptop in my case) to. They resend it to another vendor. They will be completely unable to tell you the status of your "repair". BTW, to be a repair site for them, just download the two page form and send it in. Apparently they'll then start sending you folk's stuff to repair.

My particular issue is that I sent my laptop on 10/20/08. The first week they denied they had it. For the last several weeks they have been unable to provide any status (see above which I learned today).

"FAILURE TO FULFILL CONTRACT. TERRRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased an overhead projector from ButterFly Photo in 2005 and they recommended that I also purchase a RepairTech warranty to cover the unit and also a bulb replacement plan from RepairTech. I haven't needed to use these services until recently when I needed to replace my bulb.

After having my projector repaired by the Optoma factory, they informed me that my bulb was failing (too dim, didn't meet specs) and I needed to replace it. I FedEx'd my bulb to RepairTech, where L. Melnick signed for it on 29 Oct (according to FedEx).

First off, trying to actually talk to someone who can do anything at RepairTech is ridiculous. I have made dozens of phone calls, and received dozens of promises that someone will call me back within 24 hours. It has been weeks and I have NEVER received a phone call from RepairTech. For instance, when I actually was able to talk to someone (George – Floor manager), on Monday afternoon, he told me that he would have to talk to a manager and he promised that he would call me the next morning. As of Thursday morning I still hadn’t heard from him (even after I tried to call him over ten different times). The operator will make up excuses why he isn’t returning your call or coming to the phone; for instance on Tuesday, Veterans day, (the day George promised to call me back) I called him late morning and the operator told me he was in a conference and couldn’t be reached. Second call that day I was told that George was out to lunch. Third call that day I was told George didn’t answer his page. Fourth call I was told that it was a Holiday and none of the managers were in.

Second, the first story I got from RepairTech was they didn’t receive my bulb. I had to send them FedEx signature verifying receipt. Then they told me my bulb had exploded and they don’t cover that. Luckily I had the report from the factory verifying the bulb was failing.

Now I just can’t get anyone to A) answer the phone, B) talk to me about this issue (all I get are promises that someone will return my call within 24 hours).

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Representatives LIE to me consistently.


10 dec 08 update: Discovered this from the Trenton, New Jersey BBB: "On November 25, 2008 this company's accreditation in BBB was revoked by BBB's Board of Directors due to failure to respond to one or more customer complaints filed with the BBB." I then filed a complaint with the New Jersey Attorney General's office (link at: http://www.nj.gov/oag/ca/ocp/ocpform.htm ).

This company has my property and hasn’t sent me ANY communication (mail, email, or phone) concerning my account or that they are going to do anything. They have failed to fulfill their service contract that I purchased with them.

"Repairtech has answered all my upfront questions satisfactorily and in a professional manner. I am confident that should I require their services in the future I will not be disappointed. I found out that their extended warranties are covered by another insurance company so that if they ever do go out of business my extended warranty will be worth more than the paper it's written on.

The truth is, I hope I wont need to use the warranty, but if I do I will definitely update this post to reflect my experience.

"Don't buy a RepairTech warranty! They claim that "impact damage" on any part of the camera voids warranty work on any other part of the camera. In our case, a small dent on the exterior of the flip-out LCD means they want $300 to replace the LCD before they'll fix a missing screw on the pull-out viewfinder. The warranty "terms and conditions" card does exclude impact damage, but does not explicitly state that it voids all warranty work."

"I registered my warranty shortly after receiving the card along with my LCD TV (early Jan) using your web site. My vendor was IBUYDIGITAL. After 30-45 days of so when I didn't hear from anyone, I attempted to re-register using the web site. When it didn't go through I assumed my first registration was successful.
After several more weeks went by I sent an email and received a reply from Stacy Weekes whom I thought was going to take care of it. She never told me there was a problem with IBUYDIGITAL.
In late June, I called again and spoke with "Jason." who told me there were "some problems with that vendor and we will have to re-enter your order." "If you will fax a copy of your order and warranty card, I'll take care of it."
After weeks of no response I called again today (8/7) to check and was told for the very first time the company was out of business and never paid for the warranty.
At NO TIME did anyone from your company ever tell me that my original registration was invalid and not accepted. As you are aware, had they told me in time (120 days) I could have disputed the charges thru Master Card and gotten my money back.
