"What can analytic skills do for me? What kinds of things are you researching in financial services? What's your favorite bank? What kind of analytical tools do you recommend to learn? After completing a 12-month work placement at American Bankers Association in 2015, I just got hired as a senior analyst at analytics company FinTech Data Solutions. I'll be doing financial research, developing databases and writing analytical reports on new payment products that help financial institutions and their customers. I'm constantly learning and improving my skills and capabilities. Here's how I earn money: Earners Banking: Financial institutions use my research to educate and inform their customers. The more finance consumers understand, the more finance they want to use. It's important for financial institutions to show off the benefits of their products. When consumers understand the finance they earn and how the process is working, they're more likely to pay for the service and buy the products. A good question to ask is "If I were a financial customer, how would I feel about using your product?" The data tells the story. Insurance: The insurance industry does a similar thing. They share the data and speak to customers about how they earned their money. They want consumers to know how they earn their money and how they benefit. "

He said that the equity markets have largely ignored private finance initiatives and infrastructure, which is a mistake, and the chart above shows why. "New Horizons: A Computer Forecast of Future Health Risk In 1991, NASA scientists launched a probe, which zipped by Pluto on July 14, 2015. Scientists monitored the New Horizons spacecraft until its most recent flyby. The mission ended when the probe was out of fuel to maneuver, but we are still busy learning what we can. Previously, scientists analyzed the data from the Hubble Space Telescope to estimate the composition of the atmosphere of Pluto, which revealed that it contains similar proportions of carbon monoxide, methane, nitrogen and hydrogen as Earth's atmosphere. In 2016, New Horizons showed that the atmosphere is almost devoid of hydrated minerals, unlike Earth, which has vast hydrological networks"

"Uber’s ride-sharing network has received a clean financial audit from a new credit agency for the first time, as the company aims to woo more finance companies to invest in its finances. Uber said it earned a “positive and consistent” cash flow from drivers in the first quarter of this year, and the company’s ride-sharing operations across the U.S. generate $11 per trip. One driver in Oregon earns over $1,400 a month in his Uber earnings, and 60 percent of drivers take home at least $500, a figure the company said was “approximately 10 percent higher than 2015.” Data from the analysis were based on financial reports provided by Uber. In 2016, Uber earned $2.66 billion in revenue from its ride-sharing network. That number was substantially lower than the $3.91 billion it netted in 2015. Uber was founded in 2009 and is now part of the leading ride-sharing industry, alongside services like Lyft and Sidecar. "We believe that Uber's efforts to make financial information more transparent to both regulators and the broader public make it better positioned to expand, innovate and serve customers better," Brian Tageson, CEO of Overbrook, a financial analytics firm that partnered with Uber, told Business Insider.
