"WARNING DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SOYO.
I Purchased two motherboards from Soyo and specified next day shipping. After not receiving the shipment for three days, I called Soyo's customer support. They told me the product was out of stock and that they had cancelled my order. They did not notify me of the cancelation, just cancelled it. It has now been 4 days since the call to customer service, I still have not received a credit on my credit card for the cancelled order. "
"Soyo with cooperation with Tigerdirect.com screwed me and two buddies of mine big time. The too familiar story: rebates promising you the world for buying Soyo, and then nothing at all. Bunch of BS emails back and forth and still nothing. I almost gave up when I found Washma's information on contacting California Attorney General. Thank you! Fortunately I kept the copies of all rebate submission materials for almost two years and now am sending them to the right place for a long-overdue refund.
The details: $62.99 mail-in rebate for Soyo SY-P4VGA mobo purchased at Tigerdirect in March 2004. Two of my friends did the same with the same results - no rebates no nothing form Soyo if you don't count numerous emails that your rebate check is almost there.
As for me and my household it is the end of business with Soyo and end of business with Tigerdirect for dealing with shady partners and not willing to intervene on behalf of the crewed customers.
Before buying anything from companies unknown to me I will check resellerratings.com. You rule and you rock!

"Soyo Sucks. Plain and Simple.
Here is the answer to get your owed rebate money.
Goto this link and file a complaint with the California Attorney General.
http://ag.ca.gov/consumers/mailform.htm
Once you have done this wait (unfortunately) until they get back with you. They should send you a form asking for you to fill in your complaint and supply any documentation to backup your claim.
Once they get this infomation they should send Soyo a letter. Your check will arrive within 2 weeks after that (give or take)
For this to work you need to have made backup copies of your receipt and UPC's. If you did not do this you can only blame yourself and you should in the future start doing so.
I would say it took the Attoney General about 6 months to reply to my online submittal. But once they did the whole process was over within 3 weeks and I had a check in my hand.
Best of Luck in getting your monies. Please tell everyone you know NEVER buy SOYO. Period.

"I recieved the product promptly and accurately. I'd buy from them again."
"I too was scammed by SOYO. I purchased motherboards from both NewEgg and ZipZoomFly with rebates. NewEgg sent emails to all SOYO board purchasers to ensure that they received their rebates, one way or another. ZipZoomFly, after failing to respond to my emails at least twice, simply pulled the SOYO boards from their website. Soyo answers your emails every time, with BS.
I wish that I could say only their customer service is bad however, one board died after only one month of service. I wasn't willing to call them long distance to get an RMA, especially after reading on their website that there is a $5 handling fee for warranty replacements!
No rebate as promised, motherboard DOA after one month, and $5 to replace it AFTER a long distance phone call to SOYO tech support. Stick with Asus.
I encourage everyone to do as I did, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. It's online and easy. Simply go to www.ftc.gov and click on the "File a Complaint" link located near the top of the home page.

"Great deal! Very easy to order from, pleasent site to the eye and simple, but secure, ordering. Good follow up with emails, questions about order, when the BIOS was shipped, and even got next day shipping. Now where can you get this without paying extra? The web site also maintains the quality that SOYO is know for. Thank You"
"I purchased a case with p/s on April/05. P/S is DOA, I contacted Soyo's customer service and spoke with their tech support. I followed with troubleshooting from the link he sent me. I reply with detail result through e-mail. Tech then stated that I must call long distance to troubleshoot it with their tech over the phone before I can get a RMA# for replacement. First they wasted my time telling them the result over e-mail. Then required me to call them to do it again with their techsupport over long distance which I stated in the very beginning that I don't want to call long distance to trouble shoot the problem.(Which can turn out to be a very expensive phone bill for something that worth only $30 most) I have deal with many merchants online before, and done returns/exchanges with them. None of them require a phone troubleshooting. I am a technician myself, and have been working with computer/server/high end working station for over 10 years. I tried 2 completely different setup of the systems with the power supply. And tried a good power supply. Everything I have done tells me it is the problem with the power supply. I can not see how much better a tech over the phone can do. And I had explained to the tech in detail steps what I have done to determine that. Anyway, a power supply is not worth all the trouble since I have brought myself a $100 replacement. Good luck to others, just don't expect them to change their rules for you when you need services. Because their customer service/tech support can't help you much outside of their policy. Which is UNFORTUNATE for soyo, and for me as I was told by the tech. Great product needs great service to back it up. "
"This is more about Soyo, not just the store.
I am a home builder with a long list of people who depend on me to upgrade their systems. I am not a 'pro', I don't work on friends' systems for money. I used to reccommend Soyo products, but I will no longer. Soyo claims that service is the lifeblood of the company. If they really believe this, all I can say is, Soyo is morally, ethically and physically dead.
All efforts on my part to have this resolved have met with frustration. The company claims to have no record of my rebate application, to send them the documents and they will process my claim. They wanted originals, and that is what I sent. How can I send the originals a 2nd time? About all I can do now to prove I bought the mobo is take a picture of the box showing the clipped out bar code and the date/place I purchased.
If somebody from Soyo is about to type in 'I will help you with this, please contact me', forget it. I have had enough bs and runaround from Soyo. Here's my e-mail: ****@****
Contact me, I will give you a mailing address, and you can send the check for US$75.00 that I was promised. If you are not going to do this, then don't bother contacting me."
"I was another one of those customers scammed. Soyo was offering two rebates on their 865PE SY-P4I865PE 1.0+ motherboard equaling $75 total. Before sending in my paperwork, I verified with a Soyo customer service rep whether to send them in separate or together.
I sent the paperwork in via USPS with Delivery Confirmation. USPS records show that it was received by Soyo on September 15, 2004 at 9:58am (DC number is 0303 2460 0002 9132 6960), yet they repeatedly claim not to have any records of my paperwork.
Like Ricksickle below and hundreds of others, I will never see these rebates nor will I ever use, recommend, purchase, or have anything positive to say about Soyo ever again. I am extremely disatisfied with how they treat their customers and the runaround many of us have received."
"Soyo scammed myself and hundreds of other customers on a rebate scam. Bounces around emails, generic replies, refuses to resolved this issue. I will never again buy from this company, nor will I recommend any of there products ever again. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with."
"This actually was bought from Zipzoomfly.com, but this is a complaint about the SOYO online store & support. Here's a summary of what happened:
1) After 8mo, no mail in rebate
2) Mobo has no working mic port or USB
3) Soyo officially changed motto to "SOYO: Bend over."
I first called to inquire about my rebate, to which the reply was it was still being processed. From there, it got worse. After 5 emails and 1 to their rebate verification center, i gave up hope. I had been reamed by SOYO."
"me and my friend got this soyo k7vme barebone with $70 rebate promise. I have e-mailed them after the specified period and told me that they had difficulties and they would reorganise their rebate system on oct 1st. I contacted them after oct 1st and they said my rebate was approved and I sould allow 2-3 weeks. Now it is January 20th and nothing yet. They do not answer emails anymore. No listed 800 either."
"In August my sister and I both purchased the following from Tiger Direct;
Soyo K7VME Socket A Barebone w/ 52x,Key,Mouse,Spk (S450-3200 )
with promise of 90.00 in combined rebates from Soyo. To this day neither of us still have not recieved one cent from Soyo.
Both of us sent a email to Soyo requesting the status of the rebates, one went unanswered and the other was. They stated i sent in the wrong UPC numbers. (Yeah right)
I still have the originals here from the box,and sent them copies which made no difference apparently. I do believe neither of us will ever see the money,as it is now January of 2005. I will take it as a lesson learned, and continue to warn people like you reading this to never purchase a thing from Soyo, and I would also recommend avoiding Tiger Direct too. They will brush you off and tell you it is Soyos problem.
For this I will give both Tiger Direct and Soyo both flat zeros on their ratings.
Thanks for reading."
"In May I went to TigerDirect.com and purchased a SOYO Pen drive for $40 and did all the necessary paper work to receive a $40 rebate from SOYO. After a few weeks I emailed the company and was eventually contacted and told the rebate would take a couple more weeks to arrive. After that I emailed them again and was told the rebate would be sent on the first of October. I sent them an email last week which has gone unanswered.

"I ordered a SY-P4IS2 motherboard for $30... shipping was a bit expensive at $8. Order was missing the I/O back plate so I called, they sent it out, and I got it a week later. If this had been a rush order for one of my customers, I would have gone insane on Soyo. But it wasn't so I'll cut them a break.
