"Shades emporium had the best price on these frames. They arrived promptly and were well packaged. I bought them to replace a pair my boyfriend lost while sailing. He said they came in better condition than the frames he got from the store he normally goes to for glasses. The only thing I would have liked to have been different was when ordering, I put in my address as the billing address and forgot to put his as the shipping address. I couldnt navigate on the website how to modify my order, but it wasn't a big deal."

"I purchased a pair of sunglasses and they arrived quickly and I was really impressed with how well they were packaged. Unfortuantely I had to exchange them because I didn't like them as much when they arrived. The exchange was hassle free, and other than some confusion with the associate in regards to me wanting to "upgrade" my shipping it would have been prefect! Overall I'm very satisfied and would definately recommend to others"

"I will never order from this company again. I ordered a pair of Oakleys for my birthday from here and said that the glasses I ordered were in stock. The next day I receive an e-mail from Shades telling me that the sunglasses they were about to ship me had a blemish and they were going to order me a new pair. They said it should take no more than 5-10 business days. LIES! after 13 days of waiting, I contact them and they proceed to tell me it will be another 2-3 weeks. I cancelled my order. I have never dealt with a business that handled customer service so poorly. I will gladly pay an extra $10-15 for good customer service next time. "

"The world looks like a better place through my Costa 580 G lenses. Shades had by far the best price online and great customer service when I had a question on shipping. They even responded to my question by email when I had to get off of the phone. I was a little skeptical ordering, because of website design and self promotion on the toll free number, but both inhibitions proved unfounded. The glasses arrived as promised and I have neither the sun nor a sour experience to make me squint. "

"I received my eyeglass frames which had a defective hinge. Returned them (at my own cost) for a refund. Company insists on charging me a 20% restocking fee for returning a defective product.
Terrible business ethics.
In my opinion, you should not be charging a fee when you send out an inferior product. You should accept it back with an apology and give the customer a full refund.

"I found a pair of sunglasses on the website that I had been trying to find for months. The site said they had 5 available, so I placed my order, entered my credit card number, and got a confirmation email saying it was all set. The next day I got an email saying my item was back ordered, and that my order had been canceled. So I went back to the site to see if it said the item was back ordered, but it still said that there were 5 available. Seems suspicious. Had I known the item was back ordered, I never would have entered my credit card information. ALSO, instead of just canceling my order, I would have preferred them to offer to put my order on "hold" or something so that when a new shipment of the item arrived I would have first dibs on them. I don't know, that just seems logical. I wish the site would mention that an item was back ordered before ordering it. It seems very suspicious and I don't think I'll order from this site again. "

"I placed an order with Shades Emporium yesterday. I checked my bank statement this morning, and they have put in the charge authorization 2 times (my product cost $123.00, and they put in 2 authorization holds, totalling $246.00).

I called them to raise this issue. The woman insisted there were no problems, and that they did not actually charge my account - it was only an authorization. That is fine, but I kept trying to explain to her that they double-authorized me. She told me there was nothing I could do and told me to call the bank.

My bank was able to remove the 2nd authorization.

EXTREMELY UNFRIENDLY, RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have no idea when my product will come because they have not provided me yet with a delivery date, and have not fulfilled my order. I just hope my product comes on time.

I have sent them an email at ****@**** telling them about this issue.

Save yourself the hassle and shop somewhere else. This company offers prices 25% less, and you can find some additional $10.00 coupons online. But you will have the worst customer service experience.

"I am fustrated. I ordered a pair of glasses on 12/24. Waited 2 weeks and was told that my item was on backorder for 1-3 weeks and my order had been cancelled. They even gave me a $10 off for my next order because of the mix up. At first i thought this was nice, but why cancell my order? Why not keep it open and send me my glasses when they come in 1-3 weeks later? Well, I just checke dthe website and the exact same glasses are now $54 dollars more!"

"They are a scam. I ordered a pair of sunglasses on 12/24 with 1 day shipping expecting them to be at my home in NY (they are based out of Glendale, NY) by the following Thursday. Today, 12/27 I emailed them asking what the hold up was, and they said they weren't going to be shipped in time. Then, I tried to cancel the order and they charged a large cancellation fee without apologies. Their cancellation policies are very vague and poorly worded. They refused to not charge me a fee. Horrible company! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!"

"Stay away from these guys! i ordered sunglasses on Dec 11th for my husband's Christmas present. Was told these were "in stock"... then I was sent a subsequent email estimating that they would arrive on Dec 17th. On Dec 24th, I called & emailed them... only to find out (after I'd chased them down) that these were on back order till Dec. 30th. No one notified me - I had to go looking for that info. Apparently, their cancellation policies, require that an order be cancelled within 4 hours of being placed. If not, you are charged a $35 fee. So, I have no Christmas present for hubby... no time to do anything else about it... and for that privilege, I get to pay $35?? If you order from them... be prepared to receive your order a month or so later, you'll have false notification that it's "on it's way"... and can't cancel w/o that fee being assessed. "

"Stay away from these guys. They sat on my order for over a week at which point I cancelled the order and then got whacked with a $35 charge in accordance with their “Policies” that orders must be cancelled within 4 hours to avoid surcharges. "
