"Bought new speakers for my truck, and was looking for the best price for the speakers I wanted. (Speakers I bought were "Pioneer Pioneer TS-D1702R" ($75) and "Pioneer Pioneer TS-A4675R" ($40) Both sets really great speakers!) Sonic Electronix had the speakers I wanted for half the price everyone else was selling them for. I will be using them again soon to purchase an amp, once I get the extra funds to do so, would defiantly recommend. "

"Given this was my first ever purchase with SonicElectronix unfortunately sets the impression as "tread carefully but with some confidence". I first came across Sonic and felt they were a legitimate site after many references to them in independent posts and recommendations to purchase audio equipment.

Given the price seemed about right and the ordering process was on par with other big internet resellers/marketplaces, I felt it was safe to proceed. The entire process was as expected. The payment went through, I received email notifications along the way (payment received, order shipped, tracking number, etc.).

It was only when I received the product (Alpine subwoofer) where things were a little amiss - but want to make note the product showed up at the expected time.

Un-boxing the product clearly indicated this product was used and not new even though I ordered a new item. In fact, the sub was dead on arrival. It did not work at all, had some nice gouges on the chassis and much of the packaging was missing. I really want to give SonicElectronix the benefit of the doubt that someone in the operations department simply messed up with receipt of a bad item and accidentally shipped it to me vs just trying to pass off a return to me as new....

After troubleshooting with customer service and convincing them the product was not working out of the box, they agreed to send me a RA (return authorization). Given I was expecting to have the product in hand so I could install over the weekend, put me in a precarious situation as they wanted to receive the item before sending out the replacement.

We decided an advanced return would be a suitable option - meaning I would pay another $99 for the new sub to be shipped the next day, and upon their receipt of the defective one (for which I sent back the same day), I would be refunded the original $99. Not ideal given I would now be out $198 with nothing to show for it - and putting all my trust in SonicElectronix to deliver in a few days time.

Fortunately I was able to speak with customer service in a timely manner and my second order was promptly shipped and arrived just before the weekend. After receipt of the new one, it was obvious something was messed up with the first order as the second sub was beautifully packaged and completely unopened aka new!

Am I satisfied that Sonic took care of the issue? Yes. Am I satisfied that I had to go through the process of getting a bad/used sub and then having to return it and have faith that putting out an extra amount for the second sub would be ok? Not really.

In the end it's a wash for me. I'm glad I got the new one, Sonic received the old one and said they will refund my money, which I expect they will (but TBD).

Again, my first experience with them. Had this been my 5th or even 2nd, maybe 4 stars. For now, just down the middle at 3. So the consolation prize is to feel good that if they mess up, they offer options to rectify.

yes i order xmas to get it over with plus labor sale prices that helps
so...
sometime afer 2016 it will be intsalled in my son 96 bronco and i hope things will
go smooth esp the sound of it..(right now it has cheap ass speakers that sound alright)

"The product was as described, but found later was overpriced. I paid $450 for the Viper VSS5x10. Only includes Dx10(main control module and canbus interface) and DSM350(cellular and gps module). A local Brick and Mortar store sells this same product INSTALLED for $500 incl. tax. Does not include detailed manual of all the pin ins and outs. Scoured the internet for days looking for diagrams and charts, but found very sketchy unintelligible information. Instructions require additional Relay Pack Module XpressKit MC501 to start vehicle. Overall, SonicElectronix's experience was better than average. Product arrived quickly and as described by retailer. Product itself is the worst for DIY-ers."

"I bought a Clarion VX404 In-Dash DVD Refurbished, and the unit arrived missing a 2nd wire harness, leaving the unit almost useless, also the included remote did not work and the unit had scratches all over... not what you call "Factory Refurbished". I have bought refurbished equipment in the past and they always looked flawless. then I found out they had an OPEN BOX Complete of the same model, and I guess customers don't really count as they could not exchanged for that unit, just because it was a bit more $.

I guess this will be the first and last purchase I make here. I want my business to valued as much as the customer who paid for the retail box. I think I deserved the same service.
