Order cancelled

"I took a chance ordering from a company I had never ordered from before, and needless to say the first experience left a sour taste in my mouth, so I likely won't order again. I attempted to order a pair of winter boots that were, per it's webpage, in stock. Several days later I get an email indicating that my order was cancelled due to low inventory-- really? Inventory should be updated as it's sold... I went back on the website and it indicated that they still had the exact same boots, in the same color and size that I had ordered in stock. A waste of my time ordering and then having to spend the next week looking at my online bank record to make sure I was credited the funds back."

Poor Inventory Control!!!!

"Ordered a FitBit for a Christmas gift for someone. I received an email 5 days later where the subject line of the email said: "Your sportschalet.com Order Has Been Cancelled" and the body of the email said: "Due to lack of inventory your order has been cancelled. We apologize for this inconvenience. Please contact our Customer Service team if you need further assistance" and that was it! I ended up having to print a page off the internet and wrap it as an IOU. Totally lame!!"

Sorry about the bad reviews!

"My daughter and I both ordered from the company. One order went without a hitch. The other had an invalid tracking number, but a quick call to the company rectified that. The second order took a few extra days to come in, but both orders were exactly as ordered, and customer service was eager to help track the second package. Sorry they have such bad reviews! Prices were great, too. Glad I ordered before reading the reviews!"

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!! I read the reviews before ordering an item, went as far as contacting the company to order it instead of making my purchase online. The rep assured me that the item was in stock and placed the order for me. A week later I received an email stating that the order was canceled due to being out of stock. THEY ARE FULL OF CRAP, I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS!!"

"I was nervous to order from this company based on all of the reviews, but the Kurt Kinetic fluid bike trainer I wanted was about $100 cheaper at Sport Chalet than anywhere else, so I decided to take the risk. I placed the order on October 4th and received the order confirmation, which said the package should arrive in 7-10 business days. On October 15th, I still hadn't received a shipping confirmation and decided I should probably call them to see what my order status was (and I assumed that my order would just be cancelled as soon as I called, based on all of the reviews I've seen). Low and behold, the package showed up at my apartment that evening! I was glad I happened to be home, since I never received a shipping confirmation and had no clue it was coming, but I breathed a big sigh of relief when I actually received the package."

"I will never shop at Sport Chalet again! I had a horrible experience trying to exchange one of their
items, which i have a warranty and receipt for. I went into the store, where the initial purchase was made. I requested an exchange, as I was entitled to do so because of the warranty terms. The manager was extremely rude and refused to process the exchange. I contacted Corporate regarding the matter, and they contacted the manager to approve the exchange. She declined to do so claiming that her district manager would not allow it. Does not make any sense to me! Isn't Corporate above any position? Now i'm stuck with an item I cannot use. I will make sure to spread the word about my terrible experience!

"Horrible company. I ordered a product from them and received a confirmation email from them however never received an email that the product was shipped. After about a week I decided to call the their amazing customer service department which left me more confused then before. After two days I received another email saying my order was cancelled..? I spent the next day trying to figure out why and why it took so long for them to notify me. They simply stated they were out of stock. Pretty unprofessional to advertise a product for sale when you don't even have it. "

"Looks like this re-seller has some issue with their inventory system, as I see pretty much all complaints relating to taking orders, and then cancelling them without much information/reason about the cancellation. Also, not sure about what the corporate department is, that every representative is happy to transfer a call to? Not sure if this is bait and switch or not, but definitely not doing any business with them again."

"Bait and Switch is still in effect! I ordered a coleman grill on the 6/24/15, I called 6/29/15 to get a status on my order and the customer service rep said it would be processed and shipped on 6/30/15. I guess he was talking about my money that would be shipped back to my account because low and behold I was issued a refund on 6/30. Don't do business with this company"

"I had a similar experience. I waited 5 business days and called the company to check on the order- this was a present for my son's birthday. They said it should ship today. 30 minutes later I got an email cancelling my order without any explanation. I'm really upset. This was an item that low inventory from other retailers and I bought from Sports Chalet in good faith- now I am having trouble finding the item. Really disappointed and poor customer service. I won't shop there again. "

"My order was cancelled without explanation. After calling the company and being transferred around, I leaned that it's because their website's inventory is not accurate. And, rather than send me what they do have, they cancelled the entire order.

The person I spoke with tried to explain to me that this is just how it is. While this may be true for this company, it's certainly not true for all companies.

"I was shocked when I found a brand/style/size of boots on this site which were sold out EVERYWHERE else. I placed my order and then was terrified to find poor reviews of the site. Due to the negative reviews, I anxiously awaited a shipping confirmation and then delivery of my order. I received my boots today, and I could not be happier! They are exactly what I wanted and my experience with Sport Chalet was very positive! I will definitely order from this company again!!"

"Found them via google shopping. I check resellerratings before I place an order from a new store . Google shopping does not have a good reputation because in past online con artists used it and tried to charge 20% restocking fee for products that they never had in their inventory.

Due to other reviews, I had no expectations however price was almost 50% less compared to amazon so it was worth a shot..I am glad I did!

Order placed on Sunday 5PM via Paypal. Monday 5PM they created the label. Order was delivered on Friday. From CA to OH.

I saved around $50 so I felt obligated to give them a review.

I'll definitely buy from them again in future.
