"Another company like Time Warner. Epic Fail !!! SCAM...What type of company does NOT send out billing statements? STAMPS.COM!!!
They've been billing my account the past NINE MONTHS and I recently got an email stating they weren't able to charge it for last month, because I changed my card not long ago. They stated they do notify us but dumb company only sent me an email when I first signed up. THEY DID NOT SEND ME EMAIL CONFIRMATION FOR PAYMENTS MADE EACH MONTH. Why? I bet 50%-70% of their revenue comes from non-authorized charges on the card. "
"SCAM ALERT! Don't peruse their site, and definitely don't give them one scrap of information, unless you want to see a $15.99 charge hidden on your credit card bill. Customer service will turn a deaf ear on your complaint when it happens, too."
"$15.99 a MONTH? And you get $5 free postage? What a ripoff! I didn't even get a email saying they were going to charge me I NEVER EVEN used there service and they all of a sudden charge me!!! I signed up once to see if they were a good alternative and turned around a said nope and I canceled my account and they charged me anyways!!!!! I have the email saying that my account was canceled and then they charge me and the only way to dispute it is to do it through my bank? What is that about a bunch of crap if you ask me!"
"15.99 a month for what a crappy app that prints postage. You can do that for free on the official USPS site!"
"The product Stamps.com offers for a monthly fee is free from the U.S.P.S. They make it difficult to close an account showing that Stamps.com knows the product is sub-par and overpriced. The items Stamps.com advertises as “free” are not free, they require payment (you can buy a scale for a great deal less than this “free” one).
Do not waste your time loading the software or giving them you payment information. I will never recommend Stamps.com to anyone."
"SCAM!
Watch out for the monthly service fees that will start showing up on your credit card bill.
Only way to cancel is to call their 800-number and play the cat-and-mouse game of trying to cancel.
Had to get increasingly hostile and stern until I got a refund and cancellation.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!"
"I have subscribed because I thought it was free. I ended up not using their services but I was charged 15.99$ for 12 month. They never sent me any notifications nor does it appear in my account info. I tryd to explain that this is a special case. Told them that I don't live in the U.S, that it was not clear that there is a fee, that I thought its a free service. they just didn't care.
They wouldn't agree to refund me.
So I end up paying 180$ for nothing.
Stay Away from them!!!"
"Locked into recurring billing with no way to cancel service online. You can sign up for a paid monthly service but the only way to cancel recurring billing is through a rigorous game via their customer service number. Many transfers, holds, and upsells. In comparison it's worth noting that any other shipping service such as Fedex and UPS are "on-demand" billing which means you only pay for what you use without a recurring billing plan."
"The worst company I have dealt with in years.
2x I have tried them and had "
"DO NOT USE...TOTAL SCAM. If you need shipping service go elsewhere without all the monthly service charge."
"This is a total scam. I was tired of never having stamps at home so I checked out stamps.com to see how it worked. It seemed that you would be able to print out stamps at home. Something I thought would be very convenient. So I went on their web page to get more information and to sign up. After I entered some information it prompted me to download software, but it got stuck doing so. I finally just closed my browser and did not think more of it. There was never a message that it would cost a monthly fee and if I had seen the price I would never have signed up for an account. Since I had closed the program in the middle of the download I did of course not think I had actually signed up for anything until I got a package in my mail and later I saw a charge of $15.99 on my credit card bill. I called them and told them to close my account right away and they then told me they would charge me another $15.99! They finally agreed to waive the additonal $15.99 but would not refund the other $15.99. I never used their service and never will."
"Similar to many other people, I was not aware of the $16 per month charge when I signed up an account on their website. Only find it out after they charged twice on my credit card. I never used their service at all. Called customer service, they refuse to refund my money. The money they scammed is probably their major income source. A fraud website."
"Stamps' tried to cheat me. They are scammy. Their offer is for a 'free' startup package. Turns out it costs tens of Dollars. Then, when I elected not to continue, they sneaked $15 off my credit card without notifying me of anything. Horrible! Well I'm setting that straight through my credit card company. Stamps' tried to cheat me. They are scammy."
"It was not clear that simply open an account would begin charging you $15.99/month. I opened an account and NEVER used it but still had to pay. By the time I noticed this reoccurring charge, they agreed to only refund me two months worth. There was no email stating I was going to be charged - apparently it was on one screen during the sign up process. Unhappy camper - will NEVER go to Stamps.com again."
"Had a $5 credit, but they didn't make it clear that you could only use the $5 with a product that you had to buy from them. Called to cancel the order, but they said they couldn't do it. I had to pay to return it for a refund. Tried to cancel my acct, but they gave me hell about that too and ended up charging me an arm n a leg for subscription. Worst company ever."
