"In principle , I like saving the money online vs over the counter. However it was very non-user friendly when I tried to assure myself that I had the right Fender Liner for my Highlander Hybrid. Plus ordering the individual mounting parts was a chore because several parts showed not in inventory or unavailable and it was hard to find the replacement parts. One part is supposedly a valid part but it is not in the data base. So I will have to pay full retail for 5 items as opposed to the discounted price online."

I have 5 different Toyotas and for several years I had been buying all my parts from a dealer out of the Detroit area. After they botched about 5 orders in a row with damaged and/or wrong parts, I started looking for another place to buy from. I found Stevinson West via a Google search and decided to give them a try. After some smaller orders I tried to order rebuild parts for the rear differential on my 06 Tacoma, and I soon found out that their policy is to ship anything over $100 with a signature required. The parts were shipped and the FedEx refused to leave them at my door. The parts manager had to recall the parts and resend them via UPS with no signature required. This only added about 2 weeks to the time it took to actually get my parts, but he did throw in a free Yeti mug for my "inconvenience."
On my latest attempt, I ordered seals and snap rings for the front end on my 99 4Runner. (..because all of the after market offering have become made in China junk..) I even requested USPS shipping, thinking that the secured package compartment in my mailbox stand might reasonably suffice as secured delivery. It was not correct. USPS left a pink card on my door on Monday 1-13-20. I went online and scheduled a re-delivery for Tuesday 1-14-20, then signed the card and taped it to my front door. The Tuesday re-delivery did not happen. A Wednesday re-delivery did not happen. I went back to the website yesterday and requested another re-delivery for Thursday 1-16-20... It is now Thursday 1-16-20 and the USPS website says my parts are scheduled for re-delivery today, but the mail has already come and my parts are nowhere to be found.
I realize that a company policy which proudly reads "we ship all orders over $100 signature required" probably sounds really good to the marketing department or upper management, but when you are a weekend mechanic who is waiting on a parts delivery so that he can get the front end of his 4Runner put back together this policy absolutely bites. Am I supposed to stay home from work to wait and sign for a parts delivery?
I was hoping that Stevinson West was going to become the new "go to" for all of my parts. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way and now I will need to find another parts dealer."
