"I bought an S7 on swappa, 2 weeks later i had to send the phone to Samsung for repair because i found out that the person on the other side couldn't hear me even though the volume was set at maximum. I had to put on the speaker in order to communicate. I asked for a refund from the seller, Eddie from Hawaii refused to do it. Swappa didn't help until I told them that the phone was sent to Samsung only a month ago to replace the LCD screen and some components but the seller refused to disclose this fact. At that time they told me to contact Paypal. Paypal decided after 8 days that the seller was "sufficiently described the merchandise" despite the proofs that i sent them. Lesson learned, ebay and Amazon at least have 30 days warranty, not Swappa! Paypal? these people don't help much at all."
"I am very happy with Swappa. I got a used iPhone 6 Plus and I felt very comfortable with what I was buying, thanks to Swappa's verification (clean IMEI's, etc.). This removes the risk of a device that is bricked but Swappa also offers very reasonable and fair pricing. I also really liked that I could search for the exact model number (the one that is designed for European cellular networks), which saved me a lot of time and effort. I am very happy. "
"I purchased 2 phones on swappa. One from the seller Big Store Electronics (NUD336) it was almost perfect and exactly what I expected, actually more. It came in a box and it came with OEM battery, OEM charger, and OEM headphones.
The second phone was from a different seller (Abejo V. (ZCP153) on Swappa. It had mic issues, no charger no headphones and was not in a box, so I wanted a refund. The Seller and Swappa responded immediately. The seller said they will refund it no problem and Swappa confirmed. I have had issues getting to the post office to mail back and the seller seems to be very understanding, thankfully. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, if you do use Swappa or any other website to purchase things use PayPal or your credit card in case you need to charge it back. Do not use Debit Cards!Needless to say, I will use Swappa again with PayPal or credit card only, lol."

"I bought a phone from It's All Wireless Inc. on Swappa. The the mobile data wouldn't work. I spent 3 hours over 2 days at the Verizon Store while the CS people worked with the tech's trying to get it to work. They told me the phone was defective. I sent 3 emails and made 1 phone call to It's All Wireless Inc. about returning the phone. They never answered any of them. Spappa did get my money back for the phone when I emailed them. Their return policy is quite clear..........
"Here are our policies on covering the cost of return shipping:
When an item is to be returned either the buyer or seller will pay return shipping costs.
If an item is received in an unusable state (e.g. is blacklisted and/or cannot be activated) and must be returned, the seller is responsible for reimbursing return shipping costs to the buyer to remain in good standing.
If an item is returned due to a disagreement in the condition of a device (e.g. good vs. fair), the buyer is typically responsible for covering return shipping costs.
Returned items should be shipped with proper tracking and insurance for the buyer's protection. "

Swappa made it quite clear that I wasn't going to get my $12.50 shipping back even though the phone was defective. The thing that amazed me the most was It's All Wireless Inc doesn't answer anybody. They HAVE A "F" RATING WITH THE BBB.

My question is why does Swappa let companies like this sell on their web page? Be very careful buying on the Swappa page!!! They let anybody sell there and don't enforce their own rules when a company breaks them.

"Ordered a phone from a swappa listing, paid with pay pal. Lister did not fill order- no explanation or correspondence.
I did get notice from PayPal that $150 of $160 had been credited to account. Eventually Swappa refunded the additional $10.
Email to costomer service at swappa was prompt and concise, but the attempt to make a purchase on swappa site was just a waste of time and an ordeal. I'm not wanting to Flame this Vendor but my experience was below average."
"I'm pretty sure it's a scam. Every time you try and post they ask for additional personal information. As soon as you comply with one request they ask for another."
"I already contacted the seller TSG Wholesale for that transaction 3 weeks ago, because I am not satisfied with this order. I don't think the phone was actually new as stated on the add, because the plastic protections have been removed and put back in place several times. Plus the needle to insert the SIM card was missing from the package. I couldn't put my SIM in place and actually use the phone. The charger is too hot. I have no answer from the seller."
"I am currently dealing with a bad situation through SWAPPA. I bought a ZTE Boost Max N9520, that showed to be in good, shiny condition with an a/c charger. When I received the phone, it had a deep scratch on the face, the water indicator is red and there are signs of possible corrosion on the SD card tray. SWAPPA said they don't deal with disputes, to contest it with PayPal and if I send the phone back, they would refund my $10 buyer fee and told me not to dispute the buyer fee with PayPal. How do I know that the seller isn't going to state that they never got the phone returned? The seller already stated that he doesn't want it back and that it isn't the same phone he sent. Went so far as to say, he felt that HE was being scammed. All I want is the phone as described, where is there room for a scam in that?
I also did not receive an a/c charger with it, the seller said he wasn't selling it with one, even though it is clearly in black and white on the listing. The whole transaction started out with the seller stating he did not receive my payment and later back tracking, stating that he forgot he was selling the phone on SWAPPA and did get the money. The phone was shipped in a flimsy envelope with a very thin layer of bubble wrap around it. There did not appear to be any damage to the envelope or any dampness nor water stains on the envelope. When I tried to turn the phone on, the LED just glowed red, I tried to charge it and still red. I ended up having to do a hard reboot that I found on line and the phone finally turned on. I am still awaiting an outcome, so far a good result is not looking very promising."
"Terrible for buyers for the following reasons:
1. There's virtually no buyer protection from swappa for deadbeat sellers. Swappa tells buyers to deal with Paypal, but Paypal's protections are minimal if deadbeat sellers have no funds.
2. Unlike Ebay and Amazon, there is no meaningful seller feedback. Swappa's own seller feedback system is nearly meaningless.
3. The return policy is terrible. It's all at the discretion of the sellers.
4. Swappa has absolutely no clout with sellers when it comes to maintaining ethical selling standards.
As a buyer, I'd avoid this site like the plague. Ebay and Amazon has 100X the buyer protections and clout to maintain high standards for the sellers. I can't think of a single reason why a buyer would shop at this site.
"
"I sold three phones on swappa. Swappa do not support seller. Once buyer make a complain, they immediately ask you both to go on PayPal for dispute . All they are after is the $10 fee. the dispute ends up in buyer favor and seller is always left with nothing.
Numerous fraudulent buyers on swappa because the no good customer support. Too bad. I will never sell there . They make you go through stress before listing. They are just crap. Do not buyer or sell on swappa "
"I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S 4 cell phone from Swappa.com and 6 weeks after using it, the phone stopped working because it was blacklisted (blocked because it was reported as stolen). There is NOTHING I can do about it. My carrier, AT&T cannot unblock it, only the person who reported it can unblock it. The seller on Swappa and Swappa.com will not take responsibility for it since they checked the ESN number at the time of sale and it cleared. Swappa eventually refunded me $10 but the seller refuses and Swappa can't force them to. So I'm out $240 and a nice phone. I would NOT recommend buying a cell phone from Swappa.com or a similar site, since as I discovered a phone can be blacklisted at any time."
