"Swiss Colony sent me a catalog last year offering me credit terms for ordering from them. I ordered around $300 worth of items for Christmas gifts. I paid my account off and the gifts were well received. I had some issues, but nothing major. This past year, I got the same offer. $400 credit and a free assorted chocolate tin. I placed an order.

I explained that I was a returning customer, that I had my previous account, and I was told, (quite rudely), to read the fine print. My order could be rejected for any reason or require a down payment or payment in full. Needless to say, I shopped elsewhere, got great quality and prices, free shipping and was treated with courtesy.

"I received a tin of mixed nuts for Xmas. They were the worst nuts I have ever tasted. Little to no flavor. The texture was too soft and chewy. What a shame someone spent good money for this horrible gift. "

"I orderded in time to receive for Christmas last year but was told it wasn't going to make it but then part of the order did. Not the Free part as it was my first order. My crackers were all crushed but the cheese dips were good. I complained to customer service and never got anywhere. This September I received a bill saying that I still owed for the order last December even though I had put on my credit card. My credit card never told me they declined payment and they cannot tell me which card it was. They still will not make any adjustment and have hounded and threatened with collection agency since October. Their system supposedly malfunctioned and that is why they are just now billing me. REALLY? I asked them to prove it wasn't paid and they are telling me I have to prove it was. I asked which card I needed to go back a year on and look for the payment and prove it went through..... I am not sure if it is even legal after 9 months to try to collect a bill if you haven't been billing every month. I will never order again. A bunch of crooks or lousy business people!"

I was guaranteed by associates it would be mailed before Christmas! Please don't fall for the $400 pre approved credit... They have lack of communication!"
"My experience is much like others here, sadly. I got the catalogue from swiss colony- "your pre approved for $400...etc.". Well, i 'ordered' on Dec 10th with what i thought was store credit, but only yesterday, did some digging and found it wasn't shipped (keep in mind, these are Christmas presents). I emailed them and got this reply:" Thank you for contacting Customer Service.
Your order is being held by our Credit Department pending receipt of a 100% down payment ($195.90). A letter is being sent to you regarding this. To protect your privacy, credit inquiries must be made via telephone. Please contact our Credit Department at ***-***-**** for assistance.

So, why would i apply for credit if i had the full amount to put down on the order?!? They never told me I wasn't approved for it, but as you see above, they are going to mail me a letter. Hey, that's great- that'll come just in time for Christmas- but what about the order!? I'll admit i waited a little too last minute to get presents (or try to order them anyway), but when a company touts that you can order by a certain date and have it there 'by Christmas', it makes it a easy to forget and wait til the last minute TO get the gifts.
So, needless to say, i'm not following through with this order. I WILL refute the credit pull and I will never order from swiss colony."

"They said i was approve $400 in credit and I place a order for christmas and was told i was approve for the $400 credit line and didn't need to do no down payments. Well they never call me to tell me that they had my order on hold for a full down payment. They ruin my christmas and I'm telling my whole family don't order from them because that was very deceitful to do that to a customer. If if your credit score is not a 650 or above don't order from here. They do put hard inquires on your credit report and won't give you service until you make a full down payment for your order. They won't call you or inform you that they got your order on hold because of your credit. I got fair credit! My credit score is a 588! Bad service and I will never have anything postive to say about this lying deceitful company. Don't buy from here if you got bad,poor or fair credit! "
