"I have purchased from TV Store Online twice. The first time earlier in 2011, the transaction was smooth, parcel arrived fairly promptly in Australia. The second time I placed the order at the beginning of September 2011 and paid for international Fedex 2-3 day shipping. It is now the end of October and I am still waiting for my parcel. I have sent 6 - 7 emails (no response) and also made an international phone call. Still waiting for the parcel. I will never buy from them again and would not recommend them to anybody! They state on their website that they are all about customer service but where's the service when they can't even respond to an email. All I want are the tracking details so that my local post office can attempt to track the item."
"WARNING, WARNING when ordering from this company. Their customer service is un-responsive thus poor service. An order was placed on the 17 th of november. I received the confirmation email that the order was shipped on the 18th. I received the USPS postal tracking number which has been useless it states that on the 19th that they received electronic notification for a package but not picked it up. This is where it stalled still not tracking. No response from the merchant after several emails to there supposed customer service and good luck getting them on the phone. The items were for my sons Halloween outfit but now he will not be getting the items in time. But they sure took the money I gave them the day I ordered it. The order was placed well before there cut off time to receive by Halloween. If you like throwing away money order something from them. I cannot stand to be ignored or ripped off. "
"I can't believe the bad reviews I'm reading. I had absolutely no problems with TV Store Online. I ordered a shirt and it was delivered faster than I expected! I would definitely recommend this site for retro junkies alike!"
"WOW!!! I placed an order from TV Store Online on October 3,2011 and received my order today October 6,2011. Great items and super fast shipping. Not only fast but I received free shipping due to my order total. I will definitely buy from again."
"I ordered from TvStore online in august 2010. I did not receive them until MARCH 2011!!! I made numerous attempts to contact them, always quoting my purchase number and items. I did this through email, with the email of the 'contact us page'. a private message on Facebook, and a message on their wall on Facebook (which was quickly removed and i heard no reply). I got no reply to any of these attempts. Until eventually i got a reply saying they had no history of me contacting me, or my purchases. I gave them my order number, and they said they had no record of it. They asked if i still wanted my purchases of a refund? I asked for my purchases, and if they needed my address, but somehow that was still on file?! Finally by February I got an email saying My products were shipped. However i did not receive them until March 18th. About two weeks after the first email saying they had been shipped I emailed asking when they would arrive. I got no reply, but only then did i get a confirmation that my purhcases were shipped. Conveniently from the same page of my original order, with my original order number. also when i received my items, one of them had broken, not beyond fixing, but still added to the dissatisfaction. TERRIBLE customer care, feedback and general service. I will NEVER order from them again."
"DO NOT PURCHASE FROM TVSTOREONLINE!
Ordered a Big Bang Theory T-shirt in a small as a gift. It didn't fit my friend so I emailed them for an exchange. They said it was okay so I sent back the tshirt. I waited over a month for the replacement but it never came. I contacted them again asking them for a refund and they totally ignored me. Good thing I purchased it through Amazon because Amazon got my money back. What a waste of time. This company is a joke."
"I placed an order on October 18 for Napolean Dynamite moon boot covers and a "Vote for Pedro" t shirt for my son's Halloween costume. The website indicated that the items were in stock. After a week, the shipping status on the website showed nothing, so I called for an update. When I finally got someone to answer the phone, I was told that the shirt was in, but the boots would arrive on Monday (10/25) and that both items would be overnighted to me. When Tuesday came and went, I emailed and called dozens of times- no response. The lines were either busy or went straight to voicemail, leading me to suspect that all employees just gave up and abandoned ship in the wake of the pressures of Halloween delivery. The result: I had to spend an entire day checking about 10 local costume shops to find the items for my son to wear to school on Friday. I would not have minded as much if this company had had the professionalism and courtesy to call or email me and tell me that the item (why didn't they just send me the tshirt, at least?) would not be in in time so that I could have ordered it elsewhere. This irresponsible and unprofessional conduct is inexcusable in ecommerce today- DO NOT BUY FROM THIS MERCHANT. "
"What a solid find: TVStoreOnline.com
If you're after for what these guys are selling, i.e., licensed merchandise/quality swag, you often have to hit up a number of official sites just to get what you want, and any savings will always depend on some flimsy or ephemeral discount.
What's worse is when you're gouged for shipping (sometimes tax) when the item is very small, or very heavy. NBC/Universal alleviates this on occasion with frequent discounts (not always much of a "savings", though they have way more in stock than most others--considering the stations and affiliates), but others such as FOX, HBO, and Showtime don't mind upping the costs in an incremental fashion--usually if setup via SeenOn.com. You wind up either spending more time doing research for a deal, or you make the buy when it's found nowhere else. (Items of this nature do have a tendency to resurface in other venues after years, or being thought discontinued, so perpetual research seems inevitable if you're a dogged collector.)
With TVStoreOnline, they have a flat rate shipping of $5.95 (in the US) for everything up to $59.99, and free shipping for everything over $60. (FTR, CBS has an interesting/puzzling $4.95 flat rate for *everything* and also implements SeenOn.com.) Nevertheless, it makes perfect sense when most of what they have in-stock is in the vein of licensed tees, but for those items that aren't... the flat rate/free shipping is superb. Clever, too, in that they'll get you to buy more to justify costs.
I was looking everywhere for an item that was not going to be simple to ship, and TVStoreOnline had the lowest price available. They accept Paypal, and offer USPS Priority Mail and FedEx; you don't get to choose, and you also don't get a tracking number. (FedEx was used for my order, and there was a tracking number on the box... for them apparently.) And the total emails received added up to two: order confirmation and order shipping.
After several days of waiting in the dark, the item arrived in excellent condition; the packing materials used would normally add much more to the cost, but with the flat rate fee and fast delivery via FedEx, it was easy to forgive the total lack of tracking info.
If there is another complaint with TVStoreOnline, it's that they don't have enough non-tee item variety. Can't say much about the "costumes", but the shirt selections are not entirely unique to them, and appear to be the core of their revenue model, so branching out will take a certain amount of financial security, and focused impetus. It's no small undertaking when there are plenty of other companies out there establishing themselves in a niche capacity--especially for tee(s)/designs--and then some. Poking around the site revealed that TVStoreOnline has a section for custom designs/printing, but as of this post, there's nothing to see apart from a single, vague statement and quoted fee.
Whether or not this company expands or survives the long haul has yet to be seen, but updates to this entry will happen when there's a second purchase.
