"I paid $117 for some boxwood plants , I got these tiny 2 inch long barely alive sticks in the mail... nothing like was in the picture or described... I could have bought these little things for $40 elsewhere... I emailed with my dissatisfaction and al they said was we do not take returns..."
"I bought an air plant on line from them. When I received the plant, not only was it the wrong air plant but also the plant was damaged or squished to death because the packaging was one of those yellow bubble wrap flimsy envelope! Any air plants I have ever received from other nurseries are always in a small box as to not get damaged! You can’t call them, all complaints are through email! So I emailed them along with pictures and a few days later they emailed me back telling me that I need to plant it in soil and insisting it is the same plant! I have bought many air plants in my life and for years and this is NOT the plant I bought! Nor does it go in soil!! Hence the name AIR PLANT! If they look at the pictures of the two they are totally different from each other! They told me to return so I am returning plant but I had to sink another $5 to return back to them. I’m never buying from them again! Let’s hope I get a full refund since this is not my fault!"
"The description given does not even come close to what I actually received.
The description states I would receive a variety of plants. I received 2 different kinds
The description states I would receive Lavender and Delphinium and Purple Coneflower and Black eyed Susan amoung others. It did not say you may receive It said you will receive
I received none of these.
It says you will receive plants that will grow in your zone.
I received plants that will not grow in my zone."
"I have a DEAD pink dogwood and e mail to the company will not go thru, I lost a tree and you lost customers"
"I got 100 ostrich ferns to put in a big rock bed with a Japanese maple. Can’t wait! "
"I ordered flowering plants on May 10. I was given a choice of May blooms or June. I chose May, because I want the flowers in the ground on May 29 for my sister's service. 2 days ago, the Shop tracking service informed me that my order was delivered. I panicked, because it never arrived. I contacted customer service. They said my order has not shipped and won't until the last week of May. Their Shop tracking service made a mistake. In addition, I had no idea that May blooms might not even get to me in May, or I never would have ordered them. Customer service said orders go out the last week of the month. Where does it say that? Yesterday I requested expedited shipping. I'll pay extra. Nope. All they keep saying is, "orders will go out the last week". So I asked them to tell me if they think I'll get the plants by May 29. They won't say, so I said if I'm not going to get them by Memorial Day then I need to cancel. Well, they're going to charge me a 20% fee. PLUS, they might not even let me cancel if the plants are at the fulfillment center. A good customer service rep would find out where my plants are, and when they will be shipped. Not all this vagueness. I'll certainly never order anything from these people again."
"1st time buyer of bare root bamboo I don't know what they were supposed to look like but I planted them and I forgot the plant Or species could you send me the name of them please thanks"
"I watered everyday for a week and couple more after and except for 2 of tge small ones all are dead or on the brink. 2 bigger ones (Muskogee), can't tell if they're dead or not since they are still brown (the way they came)."
"This is my 2nd purchase of trees. Excellent service and product."

"I ordered my 100 trees on February 23. Shipping was supposed to be March 5. That gave me time to dig 100 holes one weekend and plant the trees the next... except ---- the trees arrived on Feb. 25 instead. So, I had to actually dig the holes and plant the trees over the next two days. It was a long two days, but I did get them all in the ground on the 25th and the 26th. The trees were much smaller than I expected. The 8 Nikko Blue Hydrangeas were like 3 - 6 inches above the ground. They were not even close to the 12 - 18" that they claimed to be. The 70 Green Giant Arborvitae were supposed to be 6-12", and they absolutely were with 6" above ground and 6" of roots below ground. I still cannot tell if they are growing or not, but I feel good about them. Fingers crossed. I also ordered 4 Pink Weigela, 4 Red Hibiscus, 4 Forsythia Shrubs, 4 Blue Lilacs, 4 Blue Wisteria, 2 Redbud trees, and 2 Tulip Trees. Most of those were supposed to be 2-3' or 3-4'. Needless to say, they were all closer to the 2' to 3' range. If TWN gives a height range, they definitely send trees closer to the bottom of that range. Most importantly, 100 trees were put in the ground and have been watered and cared for as directed. I do feel pretty good that the majority of them survived the Transplant Shock and will be okay. It was an expensive purchase, but considering TN Wholesale Nursery has a one year guarantee, I think it will work out. What I am hoping will happen though is that if some of them are still not okay within the next couple months, that they will send replacements right away. It'll be easy to know that because I bought several of each kind of tree or bush. Currently 2 Forsythia shrubs have lots of beautiful green buds, but the other two have absolutely none. So, it seems unlikely that they will just randomly grow differently than the two with buds. I have not ever dealt with TN Wholesale's customer service since this is the first time I have shopped with them, but hopefully they will be responsive about trees that didn't seem to have made the trip from their home with TN W N to mine. For now, I am a satisfied customer and feel hopeful to see their progress over the next couple of seasons."

Ahhhhhh! sigh of relief, got the deal!!!"

"I purchased 9 Liatris "live plants" from this company and they sent old, dormant bulbs in a bag of dirt!! How can they claim to send live plants when that's not what you get?? I asked for my money back and they refused. I decided to plant them anyway and NONE of them grew! Not ONE. I asked for my money back again - under warranty this time - and they still refused! This company is very deceitful and does not honor their own warranty. Buyer beware! I will never order anything from them again."

"I never leave reviews and have never contacted the BBB - until I dealt with TN Nursery. Please trust the negative reviews and their F rating on BBB. This is the most dishonest and unethical company I've had the displeasure to deal with.
I ordered 2 trees during a sale in April, ‘22. They arrived quickly, but that’s the only positive thing I can say about this company. My 1st clue that they are unethical is when I opened the box and the trees were dead…not dormant, dead. There were broken pieces in the box and the top of one tree was snapped off. Hoping for the best, I followed the directions for reviving the trees and planted them the following day. Fast-forward 2 weeks, and there were no signs of life, so I contacted the company and, per their warranty, sent them pictures.
My 2nd clue should’ve been in the response I received. “Following verification, we will ship the replacement plants to you. We will be able to deliver them by November 2022.” They should've been able to ship them to me immediately, but I thought they were an honest company and agreed that receiving them by Nov. would be fine.
Out-of-the-blue, in August, and past the date I could dispute the charge on my credit card, I got an email stating that they’d issued an in-store credit to me. I asked why I got a credit instead of replacement trees. They responded: “The Management decided to issue you a store credit equivalent to the value of your purchase so that we can swiftly address your issues with the plants that you purchased. The credit do not have an expiration date so that you can use it in buying your preferred plants anytime. Hoping for your understanding on this matter.”
They could’ve ‘swiftly addressed my issues’ by sending me the replacement trees like they said they would. I responded that I did NOT understand because I was told that the trees would be replaced with no further action on my end. Furthermore, the credit didn’t cover shipping, and it wouldn’t even cover the cost of one tree of the same size that I’d originally ordered. Asking how that honored the warranty, I got this response: “Please understand that the warranty does not include the shipping fee that is why it is not included in the store credit. Hoping for your understanding on this matter.” At this point, I contacted the BBB. TNNurs never bothered to respond. They must get so many at this point that they probably go straight to their trash.
I specifically remembered the warranty stating that they would replace the trees for free if there was anything wrong. It was the reason why I decided to take a chance on ordering from TNNurs in the first place. So I decided to look into what the warranty said. Lo and behold, it had been changed! At the time of my purchase, the warranty on trees stated: “We guarantee you great plants. . . If they do not produce leaves two weeks after your other plants have greened out, call us. **We will replace them at no cost to you.** We do ask for pictures as proof they are dead and if it's in the dormant season also a scratch test.”
I responded with a screenshot of the warranty and asked, “Are you saying that you will no longer honor the warranty that was valid at the time of purchase and to which you agreed on May 16th, 2022 guaranteed a replacement of the plants I ordered?” Suddenly, their tune changed. I got: “Just a quick update. Our operations unit said that to avoid confusion, we will ship your replacement plants this fall. Kindly disregard the store credit issued.” There was NO confusion. I was told the trees would be replaced, and then TNNurs wasted my time trying to BS their way out of honoring their own warranty.
I’ve just received and planted the replacement trees, and though they look better than the originals, I won’t count on them living and won’t spend any more time arguing over a $40 purchase. I’ll just count myself lucky that I didn’t waste more and hope that my review will save someone else time, money, and the headaches that come with fighting with a dishonest operation. *Hoping for your understanding on this negative review.*
Edited to respond to TN Nursery's comment below: Most companies would learn and grow from the feedback they receive. TN Nursery does not. Please read their responses to dissatisfied customers. They take no responsibility for their own actions. Instead of apologizing for their lousy customer service, they will say that they are sorry customers feel the way that they do. That should tell you right there that this is not a company you want to order from."
“I am sorry that you feel that way. As you can see from your own account of the facts, we did not keep you in the dark about any changes to our warranty, from replacement to store credit, as we seek to better serve our valued customers - every time you email us about your concern, you can always expect a response. We did not leave you with nothing; We honored our warranty. According to your review, you have received the replacement plants.
Although all businesses go through shifts in their policies at some point, what ultimately matters is that we honored our warranty. In a nutshell, we delivered, and you now have your replacement plants.
Please email address us at customerservice@tennesseewholesalenursery.com if you have any questions or further concerns.
