If TEquipment was more upfront about how they work, and their Customer Service were slightly more versed in their processes, they would likely have NO negative reviews.
Of that I'm sure, because I got what I ordered, shipment was fast (10 days to Alberta Canada, & I ordered on a Sunday morning), and I saved a LOAD of cash.
I WAS concerned when my order didn't show up on my online account immediately after ordering like with some other sites, but I guess TEQ just has a more hands on process, and it was a few hours later that it was processed and visible to me.
Surprisingly, Customer Service DID respond to my Sunday morning concern before noon that day. It wouldn't take much to let first time buyers know about this PRIOR to purchase. "There are no orders in your account", is kinda disconcerting when you've JUST handed your CC info online.
As well, it was a bit confusing that my shipping address had changed to Illinois in the Shipping Confirmation email. I did an internet search on the address and discovered it was a logistics center, and I put 2 and 2 together. Again, if there had been ANY information on the Shipping Confirmation telling me what was happening, I wouldn't have been concerned in the first place.
After items shipped, there WAS an internal glitch that was discovered to be a simple entry error that confused the 2 shipments' tracking numbers, but that essentially was a non-issue as I got what I ordered and within days of each other.
It's little things like this that this review isn't 5 stars. A company that prides themselves on using PEOPLE to do things instead of automated programs should really be using people to iron out these very simple things, instead of using them to fix issues after the fact. Managing customer expectations is an essential part of good Customer Service.
If I didn't already have an employed level of experience and solid understanding of shipping logistics , I may have been more concerned, and may not have been able to communicate my issue with Customer Service as well. THEY had a hard enough time trying to understand the issue as it was, I had to repeat myself nervous times as they fed me back the wrong information, second guessing my words as fact. Telling me item 'A' was being shipped tommorow, after I had explicity just said I was physically holding item 'A' in my hands, was kind of frustrating.
I did contact TEQ by email about the first concern, and by online chat about the second, and was ultimately satisfied by both agents who helped me... after some hand holding on my part.
In spite of the slightly stressful moments, the bottom line is that I saved over $300 on the [not discontinued] Siglent Power Supply and GW Instek Digital Oscilloscope I ordered, and had faster availability/ delivery times compared to ANY other sites for my specific items. TEquipment must be doing something right!
Reviews claiming fraud are simply outlandish, and do NOT reflect the experience I had. I am ultimately very happy I clicked on their ad.
TEquipment WILL comfortably be in my top 5 stops on future purchases.
