"My experience has been very similar to all these others.
Unanswered emails, excuses about How/Why my order was not shipped. I finally did get it, but the hassle was not worth it. This guy offers nothing that you can not get from a better business like KEH.
good luck"
"I bought an item from David Wombacher from his site. After nearly a month, I filed a Paypal claim, then 5 days later, I escalated it into a Paypal dispute. A few hours after the claim was escalated, David Wombacher finally sent the item I purchased. It would have been nice if this hassle could be avoided. I advise you to avoid this seller at all costs. I only received the item today on July 25 more than a month after my order, and the item was shipped finally on July 23 a month and a day after my order. He did not respond to any phone calls from the customer service phone number listed in his Paypal: ***-***-**** or the original Paypal claim which I assume is directed to his customer service email listed in his Paypal receipt: ****@****. This incredibly poor service is not acceptable, and I recommend that you find the items you are looking for elsewhere. His Amazon reviews are better, but don't be deceived, his service on his web store is very poor."
"I have now joined the long list of dissatisfied customers who never received their goods. Placed an order on 27th of may 2012, debit card was charged, pro invoice sent to me, and a week and a half later, no items, no response from the Camera Hunter, nothing. Luckily Wells Fargo is who my debit card is through and it was a simple few steps to dispute the payment and get my money back. I will now be adding my name to the BBB of that area which has fifteen claims against the Camera Hunter for similar reasons. Hopefully its enough to get them shut down. "
"I ordered a lens mount adaptor from this bum and 3 weeks later I still have no product, but my card was charged right away. I should have read the reviews first am sorry I didn't. I will be contacting the Tacoma Washington police dept. as I would advise everyone who has been ripped off to do. Maybe this no-good can be arrested, fined, and hopefully put out of business. Church going, lovely wife, beautiful children my ass!!! He's a scam stay away."
"Unfortunately, I did not lookup this merchant (The Camera Hunter) before placing an order with them. I was referred to them Via Amazon and I think Amazon even processed the payment.
Anyway, I just ordered a lens cap. In my case, I did receive a lens cap but it was the wrong size (not even close).
There is no option on thecamerahunter.com website to process a return so I sent 2 emails and called the phone number that was listed on the site and left a voicemail. No way to directly talk to anyone.
I have received no replies regarding my issue and I have no way to return this item.
So what I just did, and I would recommend this for anyone else having a problem with this merchant, is to comtact the CREDIT CARD COMPANY for the card that you used for your order and dispute the charge.
After contacting the credit card company, they are putting the charge on hold and trying to help to resolve the issue.
It is not resolved yet, but if enough people file disputes with the credit card companies, I believe that they will revoke his credit card capability.

"I ordered a $10 item from The Camera Hunter which never arrived. The only contact I received was the initial automatic order confirmation email, and my credit card was charged immediately. I emailed several times and also telephoned and left a voicemail message, but never got any response.
I would discourage anyone from ordering from The Camera Hunter. From his website, David Wombacher makes himself appear to be an upstanding reputable person. Actually, I think he preys on the fact that he can defraud customers of small amounts of money by not shipping the item ordered, and the customer's credit card company won't do a chargeback for such a small amount (at least mine wouldn't).
I would encourage anyone who has had a similar experience with The Camera Hunter to submit complaints to the Consumer Resource Center of the Washington State Office of the Attorney General , the Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Consumer Protection , the Internet Crime Complaint Center and anywhere else you think would be useful, as well as leave feedback on sites such as ResellerRatings.com.
In case you need it for your complaint, here is the contact information for The Camera Hunter:

"Merchandise never arrived over 1+ month, nor response to mail.
Could anybody give me the real email address can reach this guy? It's worst merchant in the world. Is there anyway to ban his site (Google perhaps?) to prevent more victim?"
"Placed the order on Friday..received it on Tuesday. This was
during the Labor Day weekend
You can't beat that!

"This is what I eventually wrote after waiting patiently only to receive the wrong item. Note the sarcastic tone of his response:
Dear David Wombacher-
Below is a photo of the cord that you sent to me alongside of the Metz 60CT-4. As you can see, the cord that you sent to me will not fit.
The contact portion of your cord is about 0.830 inches, but the receptacle for the contact cord on the Metz 60CT-4 is only 0.660 inches.
The number of contacts on your cord is 16, 8 on each side, but the receptacle on the Metz 60CT-4 has only 12, 6 on each side.
Here’s the picture showing your cord and the receptacle on the Metz 60CT-4. As you can see, the cord that you sent me will not fit.
Since this is the 6th time I have contacted you (4 other e-mails and a phone call), I will make it the last one.
Also, unless you choose to finally respond, and do so within the next 24 hours, my next correspondence will be addressed to the folks at E-Bay who want to know about the quality of service rendered by E-bay sellers.
His reply:
I replied every time. [NOT TRUE]
If you cannot use it you can return it for a refund.
I do not stock metz cords. This was a one time purchase of new old stock.
You got what you paid for. [NOT TRUE]

"Never received the item I've paid. He's fast charging the money on the credit card, but the item will be not shipped. The mail address do not exists or is not operating.
Be aware !!"
"This guy is a rip off. Takes your money but doesn't send you the product. I wish I could get the word out to more people since he's been in business a number of years, but still rips people off. This is stealing and I would like to sue.

"Buyers Beware!
I usually check out a business before I buy from them. This is the one time I really should have done my homework. I ordered from Mr Wombacher a month ago. He charged my account immediately, but has not sent my order. He will not answer emails or phone calls. I later found MANY complaints about him on other sites. I will be trying to get my money back through my bank, but I wish someone would do something to make sure Mr Wombacher can't rip off anyone else. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE CAMERA HUNTER!!"
"No customer service and ignores correspondence. I bought a replacement cap for a camera and the piece did not fit right. I emailed, called and after 3 months of no return correspondence I mailed the cap back for a refund. Mr. Wombacher's website does state he offers 100% guarantee for his products, no questions asked. But based on my personal experience, and others I have now read, he has no integrity to back up his statements from his website. It's a shame good work ethics don't resolve with this business owner. Prevent the same thing happening to you by doing your homework prior to purchasing."
"This dealer advertises on ebay UK and offers a Snake Chain for a Leica camera. I was on the point of ordering when I remembered trying to purchase the same article back in April 2007. Upon checking Google I find that the Camera Hunter is one DAVID WOMBACHER, 4311 N. Orchard St., Tacoma, WA 98407 USA.
My original purchase never arrived. Follow up reminders went unanswered. I read the scam reports and even complained to the Tacoma Police Dept. This person pockets small purchases because he knows that it is not worth the Banks and Credit Card Companies sueing him for petty amounts.
I have complained to ebay who may ban him for a while, but the best course is to avoid this petty thief and scamster.

"I ordered two eyecups from the Camera Hunter. My card got charged right away. On September 21, I emailed him to find out about my order, NO ANSWER. I emailed him on October 12, I asked for my money back, NO ANSWER. I have called and left messages, NO RETURN CALL. AVOID THIS SCAM ARTIST!!"
