"Believe the negative reviews!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM Digital Hunter!!! I ordered a lens and experienced the same shady upsale/bait and switch. Also, I never received my order.

I was told time and time again that the order should be here by end of the week...Next week, same thing.

I asked where the info was regarding the shipping (when did it ship, what is the tracking #, ect). Finally, a rep admitted that the item NEVER SHIPPED!!! Seriously?!

He offered a refund, but it could not be processed by him , but a customer service rep. He said customer service wasn't available until after 12PM, then I called afternoon and then they were out for the weekend (@ 1PM on a friday for MLK monday - - yea right!).

They just continued to give me the run-around until I threatened legal action. I demanded an email stating that I would receive a full refund (the guy said he didn't have email with the company?!). Fine. I would reverse the charge with my CC company.

While I was on the phone with the bank, I received an email from DH stating my order was being refunded.

I am not holding my breathe though. If it is not back in my account at the end of next week, I am submitting a claim with my back. I am also going to submit a complaint with the BBB.

DO NOT ORDER FROM Digital Hunter!!!

"Everything went fine, and they have really good phone attention but:

1. I didn't like the fact that I had to call to get the promotions and the prices I was given by phone were higher than the prices in their website.

2. After they got my payment they never replied my emails again.

3. I ordered a 32gb flash memory card (even the check list says it's a 32 gb) and they sent me 2 of 16gb

4. By phone (and it was promoted on the webpage: 2x1 batteries and memory cards) the young man taking my order told me I was getting a 5 hours duration battery instead of 2 batteries of around 2 hours echa I got only one battery.

5. And final one: the free tripod and camera case are of a really poor quality

The Sales Rep (Rick) was more than helpful with this request He is a very knowledgeable, and made recommendations based on his experience. "First time purchase. Called to verify order. I had ordered wrong product. The rep directed me to another product. Very helpful but a little to high pressure. No experience with the product but will give it a chance when it arrives since they have a 60 day return/exchange. I would use again but be better prepared for what I believe I am ordering."

"biggest rip off in the world. First they sent me a cheaper lens that I paid for. Wouldn't refund my money. So had to send them
$400 more than they originaly quoted asked for the lens I was supposed to get. Then they sent me a used lens for the price I paid for a new one,they said they would refund me #150 for the used one but I called and called and they would not send the refund..

"Last night I read their reviews and worried about the order I have just submotted, now just hang off the phone with them, exactly like everyone here says: do not buy from them.
They offer $469 for T3i and 60D on their websites and emailed me for the order confirmation and call them back today, after holding for 20 mins, a guy picked up the call, after checking my order ID, says "Did you just canceld that order?" , I said No, he said this is an oversea model will you take it? I said it says on your website every camera has US warrenty, he came back yelling "where is it?? can you show it to me?? ", at this point I know that I got screwed, I was hoping mabye only those unlucky ones left the complain mesaages, now that hope went away.

My advise, do not deal with them, I am very surprised that they can still be around.

"I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered a lens from this so called company. I ordered a lens in Nov. and never received it. Spent lots of time on hold, felt like I've been lied to by very nasty customer service people and supervisor. Now reading these other reviews I should be glad I did not receive it because the last person I spoke to said the one I ordered was plastic. I would say DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

"I had the exact same experience as all the negative reviewers. I suspect the positive reports are ALL plants. These guys are nothing more than bait and switch artists. First the $439.00 D5100 that becaue it has Japanese writing has to be upgraded to the "American" D5100 for $579.00 - well still a good deal. Then three weeks later comes the "you cancelled your order" which I did not - so ok, we no longer have that deal but you can still have it for $609.00, a "small increase". That is where I caught on to them (after waiting 20 minutes on hold for the third time) and I said "you guys are a buch of theives, aren't you?" He got hot under the collar with his poorly hidden Jersey accent and pretended to be affronted - still a thief in my mind - BUYER BEWARE! "

"This place is a scam. I ordered a Nikon SB-900 and received an email to call so as to authenticate my information. The guy asked me what camera I had, and I said D-200. He feigned surprise stating that the particular SB-900 was for 35mm cameras and not digital cameras. Did I want one for a digital camera. I told him I then knew this was a scam (as there is no such thing as a flash for 35mm vs. digital and the SB-900 model is a single version) and asked him to cancel my order and send me an email confiorming this. He did so, and I will be checking my credit card statements to see if there is an fraud committed. Stay away!"

"-- The bait: Nikon D90 Digital SLR Camera Body and 28-300 Nikkor lens -- Quoted price from The Digital Hunter: $1,276.20 After placing an order via the web site (www.thedigitalhunter.com) a salesman called me to upgrade and change the price. After I requested to cancel the order the company charged my VISA account $1,706.99. This company's activities are scandalous if not outright fraudulent. The technique is a classic bait and switch operation. Lured in by a great price on a camera or lens (the bait) the merchant then sends a low-cost budget item attempting to pass it off as a high-end upgrade (the switch). An element of the scam is to claim the item is a "gray market" model without warranty and / or everything is written on the item in Japanese (Nikon technical services, for one, disavows their being such products) and that you should upgrade. This might not be disclosed to the buyer at the time of purchase, but will handed off in the guise that, for example, a rapid charger and battery will be included in the sale (meaning the switch is being made to the higher cost "domestic" model). No mention may be made at all of there being a price differential."
