"I ordered something (can't remember what) from Gourmet Depot a couple of years ago and remember being very pleased. So when they had the lowest price on a meat grinder I wanted, I ordered it from them right away. I received an order acknowledgment via email and my credit card was charged immediately. One week later, nothing. So I called. They couldn't even tell me whether my order had shipped, or if they even had the item in stock. They promised to let me know via email. Naturally, that email never came. So I called and canceled the order, and got my money back.
What happened to this company? They went from being great to being completely incompetent. I'll never order from them again. If you order from them, you'll just be wasting your time. Don't be fooled by their low prices, they don't even have the items they advertise. Go elsewhere."
"I made a purchase from The Gourmet Depot totaling $18.40 (including taxes and shipping). I received an order confirmation via email describing the product and total charges which I reviewed for accuracy. Everything looked good.
Two days later, I check my bank account to discover that The Gourmet Depot had charged my account $291!!!! I never authorized this amount!
I immediately contacted the company and was told that the price listed on the website was incorrect and that they had simply charge my card the correct price in order to fulfill the order. I ask why no one from customer service had contacted me to discuss the discrepancy and was told that I should have check the website for inaccuracies before placing my order!
I would never ever do business with this company and I'd avise all to stay away! It's going to take me days (if not longer) to wrestle my $300 back out of their greedy hands!

"On March 20, 2009 I ordered a refurbished Waring MBB518 blender. On April 7th I called to find out where my unit was. They said they just received a shipment from Waring and they would send one out to me immediately. I received in on Friday the 10th of April. When I opened the box the base unit had fingerprints all over it and the glass jar had water spots both inside and outside. The unit did not appear to be "refurbished" but just repacked and sent out a used unit. When I contacted The Gourmet Depot they said I could send the unit back on my dime. Ironically, they just called me (a day later) and said they would refund my money and send a return label. Something is seriously wrong with this whole scenario. I will absolutely not buy from them again."
"The number above is not an invoice number but an order number. One thing to say: DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! Also, was told by Gourmet Depot, when I ordered, that one piece was on backorder and would be in on the following Monday. I called back on Tuesday to check on that piece and it had not come in, The guy said they don't know when it would be in. I called another online place, thinking I might order from them and cancel with Gourmet Depot. They said the 6 pieces I wanted would not fit the processor I have. Gourmet Depot was going to sell them to me anyway! I canceled my order with Gourmet Depot and ordered from the other company. When I confronted Gourmet Depot about selling me things that would not work on my processor, the guy said it didn't matter because I had canceled my order. He couldn't have cared less! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! YOU'LL BE SORRY IF YOU DO! The card I used was a gift card and it was not charged yet. So now I have to hurry up and use that card in case Gourmet does get in the backordered part and tries to charge and ship my canceled order. I can't say enough bad things about them!"
"On 2-15-9 I ordered an electric heater from its website. Around March 12, after not having received my heater or hearing from them, I phoned them using their 800 number. I called during office hours. I stayed on the line for 15 minutes, but never got to talk to a human being. I had to listen to a 20-second recording that ran continuously with only a 10-second break between playbacks of the same recording. Of course, the recording started off by indicating that "someone will be with you shortly". After listening to that very annoying recording for about 15 mins., I finally left them my phone number, but they never returned my call. They also never responded to my emails. A few days later I tried phoning them using their 415-area code number. Someone answered right away. The woman researched my order and eventually informed me that the producer of the heater had informed Gourmet Depot that the product was no longer available. Even though over a month had passed since I ordered the item, Gourmet Depot never bothered to inform me of this."

"Absolutely terrible co. I ordered on 10 Dec 08 and received e-mail confirmation with my order #. Their website says that they don't send shipping info but will contact you if the item backorders. I finally called them on the 26th of Dec (keep in mind this was a Christmas present) and was told that the item was on backorder until the middle of Jan!! When asked why I wasn't contacted, they said I should have received and e-mail and a phone call....I didn't get either one. I will never order from this company again."

"Horrible! Placed an order with this company. After 6 days of not receiving item or shipping confirmation I emailed for status. No response. Called on the 7th day and was rudely informed that item ws on backorder. No apology, just rudeness! Rep didn't care about the week plus delayed, approach was that your credit card hasn't been charged, so what's the problem??"
