"After waiting a couple of weeks for a new computer that was listed as "instock" on the website when I order it, I decided to cancel as it was still listed as "not yet shipped".

I called Tigerdirect.ca to cancel the order, it took 3/4's of an hour of arguing before a supervisor finally agreed to stop the shipment. I was told it would take two to three days to refund the shipping that had already been charged to my paypal.

After a few days I noticed the trasaction was still pending on paypal so I called again and was reassured by the agent the item would be returned to the manufacturer and I'd receive notice that the order was cancelled in "two to three days".

A few days later I received a shipping notice that the order had been sent. I checked my paypal and not only was my shipping not returned but they had completed the entire transaction.

I called again and was told that nothing could be done and that I'd have to return the item after accepting shipment. The terms of the sale clearly state no returns on the item. I was strongly urged not to refuse shipment as the order would be held up for months in customs.

At the moment I don't feel I can trust the information given to me by the "customer service" agents. I can't say at this point what action I'll take next.

"This was the worst experiance I had with TigerDirect. I purchased a Phillips monitor that was currently on sale. For what I was getting the price was unbeatable, shipping was free as well.
The original product recieved was the wrong model, so in order to speed things up I needed to purchase a new one (doubling the charges on my credit card) and return the old and wait for a credit. Wasn't a big deal, just really annoying (they wanted me to pay for postage in the begining but I quickly made my point, and it was "waived").
Second time around, the product had a nice big fat dead pixel in the middle of the screen. Called, was proimised a return once again, except this time I needed to fill out a sheet explaining the reasons for a return, and fax it back. The agent once again advised that i purchase a new one, in order to speed up the whole return process..and wait for my credit. Weeks had passed since I had faxed the return sheet, No response, not only did I fax it a second time but i obtained an e-mail address and sent it there too. After numerous calls back, and being told to wait 3-4 business days each time, I finally was told my return was REFUSED, because the product came from another warehouse and they didn’t accept that one dead pixel warranted a return. However Philipps clearly states that they have a zero tolerance to dead pixels…one of the few company’s that do that. Meanwhile I had finally recievd the new working monitor, and now was stuck with the dead pixel on the other.
Explaing the situation to the agent, he said he would alert his manager of this problem, that I was “absolutly right,” and my product would be refunded, all I had to do was WAIT another 3-4 business days for an email containing a UPS packaging slip. 3,4,5,6…10 business days went by. No answer, this continued on for about a month and a half in total, trying to reach agents who dealt with me, speaking to new agents, was always told the same thing. Feeling completely helpless because all this was taking place over a phone with no physical loaction anywhere even close to me. I have no idea how I had not given up, but eventually I recived a packaging slip after talking to an agent who claimed he was a manager.( During my many calls, I had asked for managers often, and had gotten some too, none helped me.) This was finally ALL resolved after a whopping 2 months!
I have orded from tigerdirect.ca before and I had only an issue a couple of times…those times were both faults of packaging, literally only some brown paper covering my items, no bubble wrap or another other material. BUT the items were replaced without a hassle, so it made up for the incovenice.

I know this was long, but I hope this influences your decision, or rather makes you more aware of what kind of company your dealing with. The bottom line is, when it says that “this item is coming from a 3rd party warehouse” or something to that effect, AVOID it. Your are taking a huge risk, because if there is any error with the order you are almost guaranteed to go through something similar.

"The price of the product and the processing time is OK. However, Tigerdirect should consider free shipping (at least for the purchase over $100).
Also, the return process is complicated. Why we cannot just go to the shop for returning the product?

"Tiger Diresct is my first choice for online computer gear. Delivery is quick and the prices are good.

My only negative thought is that when I did have a problem (the Samsung 104 Laser Toner cartridge that i bought did not fir the printer it was intended for-- I did order the correct part, by the way--Customer service did not help much when I asked question.

Overall I would rate Tiger direct about 8 out of 10.
