"Beware they use a bait and switch on the shipping. The website states "usually ships in 2-3 days" but when you call to check the status they tell you it has to be ordered from the manufacturer and the estimate is 2 weeks. I canceled my order after waiting 2 3 days."
"Toolbarn.com (also DBA Acetoolrepair.com and Tighton Fastener) are not just a bad seller, they are crooks. I ordered a part for a sander. The website said it was in stock and would ship the next day. Weeks went by. I emailed several times – nothing. After almost 2 months, I figured they were never going to send it and I gave up. Then I noticed that they had charged my credit card. I called and was hung up on more than once. No talk, just pick-up and hang-up. More emails – no response. I finally got through to a human after a few days and was told that the part was still on backorder – 2 months now – even though it still showed as “in stock” on the website. They also said that the charge was “just a pre-charge authorization” and not a real charge, so I should ignore it. I called my credit card company, who verified that it was a real charge. I contacted my State Attorney General, who wrote them. Eventually, I received a copy of toolbarn’s reply letter, which stated (in rather poor English) that I had been “made whole,” and that it was just human error. Was it “human error” to lie about it when I called? It is a pretty good scam – get an order, wait for the customer to forget about it, and then run the credit card. The worst that can happen is they will have to give some of the money back. This is just robbery. They should be in jail."
"Tool barn just lost all of my future business today. They sent me the wrong item. I looked at the box and saw something that looked like the right item so I put them on the shelf. three months later when I needed to use them I opened the box and found that the staples are the wrong ones. when I called to have them fix the situation the "customer service" guy told me it was my fault for not looking more closeley when I got them. after dealing with this guy for a few minutes I asked for his boss. His supervisor was just as much a jerk about as he was. they are telling me that it is my fault htat they sent me the wrong item because I did not catch it right away. Finally he said he would let me return them this time but that he would NEVER do it again! It wasn't so much that he will not do it again but rather the tone he took. They seem to say what kind of idiot are you that you did not even catch this.
Anyway I will never do business with them again. Not because I lost $20 to their stockman who is probably overworked. But because their "customer service" team is a bunc of a__ h___'s."
"I placed a $300 order (items on Sale, and shown as in stock) and after 2 weeks, I am the one who had to contact Toolbarn and ask where is my order? They replied back with, sorry these items are out of stock and we have no idea when they will be back in stock. I canceled my order and I am taking my business elsewhere, and will never do any business with
Toolbarn.com again.
Note: "A month later and these items still show as in stock and on Sale.""
"Ordered one $300 "in stock" item, 9 days after receiving a confirmation for my order I receive a "processing" notice that it might be shipped from their warehouse the next business day. I won't hold my breath on that one. Next time I will give my business to a more reputable shop. "
"I am very satisfied with
Tool Barn. Their customer service was fast and accurate. They also had the best price. Will bookmark them with my preferred vender's."
"Placed an order for 5 tools/accessories totaling $163. Kept checking my account, and saw that the order "was processing". After a week or so, I called, and the CSR confirmed that all items were on ordr from their supplier, and that they would ship in about a week. Got an email from Toolbarn today informing me that one item (the one I really needed) was no longer available--and wanted to know if they should ship the balance or cancel my order. The decision was easy--long wait for the order, only to find that items were not available. Will never do business with them again. "
"I ordered two items which were stated "In Stock." Twelve days later, I went to their site because I had not received anything .. the items, nor an email with tracking number. The site stated that the items weren't even in stock, nor had they been shipped. I sent them an email requesting information. No response. I then called their "866-" number. I was insulted by a very rude CSR who stated (and I quote exactly) "this item isn't stocked .. and we don't rob Peter to pay Paul." After I told him I didn't even know what he meant by that (insulting) remark, I told him that by PLACING an order with his store, I did not appreciate him insinuating that I wanted to "steal" an item from another customer (I STILL have NO idea what he was getting at .. but I am STILL seething at such an ignorant remark).
I finished the call by stating that when I ordered the product, the site stated that the item was in stock. Now, twelve days later the item hadn't even shipped. "What do I need to do to cancel this order so that I an order from another company," I said. He promptly replied (rudely again) "You just did."
I would recommend staying away from this company unless you want to (1) wait a long time for your product, (2) get no followups as to why the order is taking longer than any other online company you've ever dealt with, and (3) if you particularly like to be insulted and accused of stealing from other customers just because after twelve days (and counting) you dared to wonder where the item you paid over $100 for is!
.. and I STILL have no idea what his rude remark meant, but color me insulted!"
