First time purchaser, tried figureing out how to use the e-cash, was expecting at least $40 "gift Certificate". And by the time I figure it out, the coupon had expired (Good for only 5-days form original purchase)! My coupon had expired before I even received my order! "I ordered the 1/16th Traxxas slash 4x4 through Tower Hobbies. I used Tower Hobbies because of their easy pay setup, ordering was fast and easy to do. The product was $210 which is the exact price on Traxxas.com so Tower Hobbies don't over charge. Plus they had a coupon code for $22 off my order so my total was $187 and some change. I picked the free shipping and got my RC in 5 days. Thanks Tower Hobbies I'll continue to do business with you. "
"I have been ordering from Towerhobbies for about 5 years now, and never had a problem that could be attributed to Towerhobbies itself. There was one time when I ordered something that turned out to be out of stock, but they emailed me promptly and gave me the option to back order the item. I have found the site easy to use and I always get my orders within the date range they are promised, even during the holidays.
That said, this is just my experience. I'm not discrediting anyone else's negative review because that is the wrong thing to do. I just wanted to share my positive experience in the hope that others in the future won't have any problems."
"Their customer service is horrible. I have spent thousands with them and have had a package get lost in the warehouse. If my package is delayed and i call in to make sure everything is ok they give me grief and attitude. They are a bunch of low class employees who hate working there, it shows in their tone of voice's. Once the $$ is spent they have no care, before the $$ is spent you are golden to them...

In one of the checkout screens they automatically enroll you in a subscription service scheme. You have to catch it and manually opt out!!
This is a very unethical business practice IMHO. They should give you the option to opt in only.

"I am writing this because it seems that this is way too low of a rating for a great business such as tower hobbies. I've been a loyal customer of theres for going on 3 years now. Let me tell you, who ever is giving poor ratings, obviously is either ignorant or a bad consumer. The only complaint Ive had was there parts express shipping sometimes took over a week to get what I ordered. And one more instance where the part that came was for a different model, which they gave me the right one free of ahipping and told me I could keep the part sent in error. I also called and had my account marked for UPS ground only, so now once it shows it shipped i have it next day. They are also Hobbicos's biggest retailer, and I speculate that they are Hobbico's storefront. So who better to deal with than the manufacturer itself when making purchases?"
"Tower hobbies has a fraudulent "hassle free" return policy. If you purchase items from tower hobbies, and the item does not perform as described, you are stuck with the item! You cannot return anything that has been "more than looked at"! Also, back order items will NOT be shipped on date stated! Buyer beware of this company! I won't be purchasing from them again! Customer services is very poor as well, and after conversing with a "supervisor" he hung up on me????"
"On my twelfth (and probably final) order in the past two months, I received a motor that had been pretty badly beaten up in packaging. It didn't look physically bad, so I gave it a shot.
This is by no means the first time something from Tower Hobbies has arrived to my door damaged (yet somehow, Amazon and A Main Hobbies have figured out how to ship me things unscathed), but it's certainly the most expensive.
As soon as power was applied, magic blue smoke. So I called up Tower Hobbies, and got a really dismissive woman who (and I'm paraphrasing here) basically said "Once you touch it, it's yours."
So, my $250 motor and ESC that haven't moved a single wheel get to be traded in for refurb junk from the manufacturer.
Way to treat a repeat customer. Or any customer.
Not to mention the number of times common items have been backordered, and the backorders have taken 6+ weeks to ship.
