"I’ve been buying and driving Toyotas since 1982. This was my second purchase from Toyota of Greenville. I use them for service and parts as well. Unfortunately, this will be my last time using this dealership. I purchased a Highlander last week. We love the vehicle; however, the salesperson Mercedes was terrible. The customer service ended the second I signed the last sales document. The finance guy Malek spends too much time trying to sell extended warranties and talk you out of outside financing. This is even after we told Mercedes that we weren’t interested in either. All this to increase their commission. They left my wife and I in the parking lot in 94-degree heat trying to install the temporary license plate with screws that were too big. After 30 minutes, we saw another employee pacing the parking lot. My wife approached him and asked if he could help us due to Mercedes being missing in action. He asked who our salesperson was and then walked back to the office. After 15 more minutes of no one helping us, I went back into the office and found the missing Mercedes. She was with another family closing another deal and that’s why she refused to come back. The look of utter disgust on her face when she saw me said it all. She handed me 3 more mix matched screws from a tool drawer containing approximately 100 screws and said, “try these I don’t know what to tell you.” Only one of the screws fit so after 45 minutes in the hot S.C. sun soaked in sweat, I waved the white flag of surrender and drove with the temporary tag dangling by one screw back to Anderson. In retrospect, maybe I should have bought Malek’s $2000 extended warranty. It probably would have saved me the trip to Ralph Hayes Toyota for the second license plate screw. I have no idea how you stay in business! "
