Bought a laptop over the weekend from Transparent, they took the money then on monday I got a short email telling me there was a pricing error and so I’m not getting my laptop. I needed the laptop this week, not happening now and I missed out on other deals because I went with these guys. They made no offer to compensate me for the inconvenience. "
"I bought a cable from them, not a big deal you would think and it turns out it was the wrong one. There is no obvious way of returning products on the website and after several weeks of not hearing anything from the several emails I sent, they contacted me to say that they wouldn't offer a refund and that the cable I needed they didn't stock. I'm not sure this is even legal. No idea what kind of set up this is but I wouldn't go near them again, it feels highly dodgy. Looking at the other reviews I feel lucky I got away with only buying a cable - which has cost me money I can ill afford. "
"Wow incredibly poor customer service! Was looking for a new supplier of IT equipment thought I'd try this local company and bought a few screens to start with turns out they came with no stands. Contacted Transparent-UK.co.uk and wouldn't replace or compensate me with stands as it didn't say on their poorly designed website that it was a just a monitor and no stand. The owner tried to defend the site saying it is on there as saying no stand.... yeah in the small print at the bottom of the page!! I'll be surprised if they stay in business as it looks like I'm not the only one to have problems with them. I'll happily take my business elsewhere. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE - AVOID!"

"I've been a customer of Transparent before and they have usually been ok when accepting my custom until I needed to send something back that is. I made the silly mistake of buying a 17" Laptop case when I needed a 15" and only realized that when I placed the Laptop in the case. I thought no big deal I'll just swap it for the right size but according to Richard Warwick from Transparent the act of placing my Laptop in the bag renders it a used product and therefore "they won't be processing an exchange".
Apparently, when buying online you have "less rights as a consumer" and consequently "the responsibility falls on [you and I] the customer to be more vigilant when buying over the internet". I guess they don't take the 'The Consumer Contract Regulations (formally Distant Seller Regulations)' to seriously. On top of that I found them a little aggressive too. They had that defensive approach to dealing with the problem; one of those companies that are great when you don't have an issue and not so great when you do. After reviewing some for the negative feedback I can see that the latter statement sums them up pretty well. "

I had to telephone the company after FedEx mis-sorted my parcel so the delivery was delayed from what had been expected (not due to Transparent, just human error at the FedEx sorting office) but they were so helpful and offered to take over communications with FedEx to make sure I wasn't inconvenienced.

"Since writing this review I have received an email from Transparent Communications, it was such a nice email I felt it was right to share it so I have copied and pasted it below:
I was disappointed to read you review of our company yesterday on Resellerratings and since we don’t pay £99 per month to subscribe to their service to be able to respond and resolve issues I wanted to email you directly.
I fully appreciate that the service you received in terms of response times to your enquiries fell short of where we would like to be and for that as at the time I can only apologise. If your review was to have stated this then I would fully accept this and work to try to ensure that other customers don’t have the same bad experience.
However, the review you have left almost makes it sound as though people should beware buying from us as we are dishonest and/have taken your money which isn’t the case.
In our industry profit margins are extremely tight. We make less than 10% on every single product we sell on the web-site, so when we receive orders for smaller items such as the one you ordered, there just isn’t the margin available for us to send the item via courier in the same way as we do with a projector, router or IP camera for instance and so we have to take a lower cost option of sending this through the post.
We feel that by doing this and saving a couple of pounds on delivery we can provide a lower cost product to customers.
Unfortunately, as with any type of deliveries there are occasions when these items get lost in transit and this element of the service is outside of our control and down to the carrier we use (in this case Royal Mail) to deliver the goods.
With courier deliveries where a tracking number is available this is far easier for us to demonstrate to a customer if this does happen – unfortunately, in your situation there wasn’t.
However, as far as your order went, we sent the item out and without Royal Mail losing the parcel you should have received this as planned within the time frame you requested.
Once we spoke and it was confirmed you hadn’t received it – we cancelled the order and refunded your card immediately – we didn’t even question the goods not arriving or request additional time (usually 14 working days with Royal Mail) to allow the item to arrive.
Whilst I appreciate the experience you had with us was not ideal and response times were slow I would always like to feel that we are an honest and hard working company and that we provide a generally good service to customers.
I would fully accept a poor review as ultimately you didn’t receive your goods and response times were slow – but I would ask if you would be willing to re-word your mail to highlight those issues rather than people being wary of buying from us which I think it ultimately unfair and misleading.

Be wary of this company! Ordered an iphone5 cover, they were showing 42 in stock with 1-3 days shipping. Order not received 2 weeks later, my emails were not answered and when I phoned they said they would ring back - they didn't - I rang again to be told it was lost in the post! Not impressed."
