"Troll and toad is the worst buylist website on the entire internet.
In case you don't know what a buylist is, it is a way for the consumer to send collectable trading cards to a company. The buylist is exactly how much the company will pay for each card.
The process is you submit your cards and ship them to the company. The company grades the card and pays you in cash or credit.
Currently in the market there are over 10 companies that have large buy lists.
Troll and toad is the worst for a variety of reasons.
1. They take a over a month to process your cards after recieved. Typical time period is 1-2 days.
2. They grade cards at significantly worse condition then they were sent in. They are the only buylist on the internet with a quick pay option to accept all condition grades they give to get paid faster. This is essentially a license to steal from the consumer.
3. Cards they don't accept are shipped haphazardly and often damaged.
4. It can take an additional month to get paid after, if they do pay you. You are going to have to harass the hell out of them to get paid. They figure the people that walk away is their gain.
5. Elusive and impossible to contact. They never return emails promptly and customer service is 100% the most unhelpful of all buylists.
This card fraud company puts a stain on Kentucky.

"NEVER BUY from this website : https://www.trollandtoad.com

"Troll and toad is a well known good site. Are these people paid to make bad reviews? I've bought from them before and have never had a single problem with them. Zero complaints so far, so 5 stars from me."
"EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I have sold to them, they have shorted me the total amount of payment I was supposed to receive. This last time it was 80 dollars. THEY STEAL! plain and simple. absolute thieves."
"Ordered a very expensive MTG card from them, fortunately had Amazon to create pressure with the seller to allow return of the item. Word to the wise, DON'T order from these folks. There are better mediums out there."
"Worst company I have had to deal with. Still waiting for product I order 3 weeks ago. I have no problem spending on the shipping and handling but for my product to still not be here is ridiculous and unacceptable. Just use amazon or eBay. Troll and Toad the worst company to buy cards off of."
"Ordered about 15 first gen pokemon cards from them. Shipping arrived earlier than first estimated and came packaged pretty well. All cards were singles and under the near mint condition on the website. All products came just as expected "near mint" only very slight damage on the edges if anything.
I did not order any complete blister packs but if you are looking for singles I would recommend 100% "
"I ordered 8 (their entire stock of) Unlimited print Team Rocket booster packs from them in hopes of filling out my collection. I understand this is not a large amount, and the 1 in 3 rule for pulling holos is more apparent in a larger sample set. But, after not pulling a single holo from 8 packs, I have to be suspicious... What are the odds that their entire stock of these packs did not have a single holo? Almost an entire third of a booster box, and not a single one?
Very disappointed."
"All new packs, was ripped off! I could’ve just went to Walmart for more packs. Scammer alert"
"Hello guys, 3- times customer of TrollandToad with over 800 USD in purchases.
I'd like to give some specifics of my experiences so far with this company.
Shipping and handling:
As many reviews previous to mine has stated, the shipping and handling time of the company is a bit long. All three of my orders took about 5 business days to proceed and shipping about a week and a half to Canada. Their contents are nicely packed and protected. So if you're a bit impatient with your cards and want it on the spot or within a few days, I would not advise choosing this company. However, if you're patient and can spend some time with their customer service team (which I will go into detail later), I recommend this company.
Card/booster pack condition:
I have NOT bought a full booster pack from these guys, so I cannot verify whether they have gone through their booster boxes or not prior to shipping.
However, I did purchase 20 COTD booster packs from them within one order. The pull rates were exactly as what I was expecting - I got 2 secret rares and 3 ultra rares from the 20 packs, which is about how many appear in an average box of 24 boxes. Booster packs look unopened and unsearched.
Their card conditions are AVERAGE. In most occasions that I order my cards, I receive it in the condition that is stated. So far I have not met up with any instances of receiving the wrong card. Near mint, cards are - well, near mint. I have not met up with any cards that I would consider a grade of PSA 10 - but generally, the scratches on the cards doesn't make it an LP condition. There was one instance where I ordered 10 random ultimate rare cards and got a LP condition card (damaged on one corner), but so far otherwise so good.
Btw, a note on the random secret rare/ultimate rare lots: don't expect to hit a jackpot with it. Their purchase prices strongly reflect the prices of the cards that you'll get. Also, secret rares can include gold secret rares.
Prices:
Great prices. Some cards are overpriced (such as Honest 1st edition ghost rare). I advise comparing eBay and TCGplayer to TrollandToad before selecting your collection. Around 8/10 times TrollandToad ended up with a cheaper card, with some cards largely below the market value ( such as Shooting Star Dragon 1st edition ghost rare).
Along with their 2.99 shipping to Canada and free USA shipping no matter how many cards you buy...I'd say that's a hell of a deal.
Note: the most current order of mine took a processing time of about 4 business days - this includes emailing times (which I get into at Customer services) and is given a UPS 2 day international shipping with tracking after selecting the 2.99 Canada option. This may be due to my order size.
Customer Service:
Okay, I put this for the last because this section of the company is probably what will want me to return shopping with them...despite the customs fees and conversions fees that I'll face as an international customer.
Note: this section is based off a 550 USD single purchase from them. I am not sure if it's because of this price tag that made their customer service much better.
Be polite and respectful to their service team, and they will treat you the same. I spent a few days contacting them on the condition of the cards of my order - particularly because I was purchasing ghost rares and scratches are VERY common in this rarity. Through the course of about 15 emails back and forth, they were able to have the warehouse team double check my card conditions, send some pictures, as well as giving the option to take cards that don't meet my requirements after placing my order.
Customer service hours are however a bit limited - they do not work on weekends, and you won't get any emails past 5 pm EST it seems... which is understandable for me since I expect them to be regular humans working 9-5.
I will be receiving my cards roughly tomorrow and will be updating this review on whether "the best condition cards pulled out from the lot" are actually, well, in at least decent condition.
I DO NOT HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH SELLING THEM CARDS.
Some improvements I'd like to see them do:
1. Add a card price fluctuation trendline for their cards like TCG player does.
2. The Google sign in for their website is total crap lol. Every time it tells me it's unsafe and needs me to verify a few things. GET YOURSELF VERIFIED.
3. Be more careful with shipping out cards. Even one damaged card or wrong rarity in an order of near mint cards can ruin the customer experience - AND IT HAS RUINED IT FOR MANY!
4. Do a weekly deal thing (if they haven't already)
5. Have a price match option
6. Generate auto-reply emails for the weekends.
7. Changing card information apparently takes me to the same page that is for check out. It's a bit confusing. MAKE A SEPARATE TAB FOR CHANGING ADDRESS AND CARD INFORMATION.
8. Add a enlarge option for cards once we enter the card specifics page.
9. BETTER SELL IN SERVICE??"
"As a gift my girlfriend asked me what cards I wanted and so we used the sites Toywiz.com and Troll and Toad. Troll and Toad had 2.99 for the shipping compared to 30 dollars from Toywiz. This is not including customs as I am in Alberta Canada. I read some reviews on Troll and Toad that scared me but wanted to give them a try as a show of good faith from the few small reviews. I had heard they sometimes gave you the wrong card or rarity so I wrote down each card and rarity to check when it would arrive. You can use Amazon pay with them which for people who have it set up makes the process of ordering more simple. I ordered Just over 100 Yugioh cards of various rarities from Troll and Toad and the stores they also front for. Upon inspection when arrived cards are the same standard across the sellers they use. Toywiz had my order in my town within two days, called to confirm everything over the phone and sent quality information with emails, everything was as advertised just encase you were wondering. Troll and Toad after order did send an email as well but it was not as clear. On your review order section of the site it says your tracking information is below but it is not there and this was confirmed by an email with me asking. I emailed after business hours at night and had a reply at 6am the following day informing me that my order did not have tracking. This isn't the biggest deal but would be good to know since they are known to take a while. The email did give me a date that if it wasnt't there by to contact them. The time was 40 days away from it being shipped as problem date amount. I ordered at 3:46 am on a Monday night and my order was declared shipped on January 16th. Past that no extra info was given. My toywiz order came after two days so waiting for this one was more difficult. My order arrived today February 6 which is 21 days away from the shipping time and 22 days away from the order. Most review tell you 2-3 week and for me this was accurate. Cards arrived in a small cardboard box. Their is a layer of airplus storo bags to protect from movement. The card singles were in three separate plastic bag material sealed by tape sleeves. This is inside a thing of bubble wrap each. Every card I ordered was accounted for as I eagerly crossed off the list. Cards all looked good with the Mints seeming brand new and the played having a few marks you would only notice if you were looking like a slight side mark. I'm happy with the product delivered. The information given to the customer could be slightly more clear but my expectations were met. Hope this review was helpful."
"I'll admit they're decent when you are making a purchase. However, their communication and customer service when trying to sell to them is awful. I sent in several items and choose web credit as my form of payment. I had hoped to use the bonus they offer to get some new merchandise. Yet when they arrived I received an email saying my offer had been lowered by about 5 dollars. I was disappointed and replied inquiring as to whether I would still receive the bonus for choosing web credit as my form of payment. I was told that since my order had dropped below 20 dollars, I was no longer eligible for web credit. When I called they told me I would still get web credit, but no bonus. However, when I choose to accept this offer (thinking the 25% off and the web credit bonus were different), my receipt informed me that my total was actually only About 15 dollars, and the 19 some they had told me it was included the bonus which I was told I would not receive. This meant that I wasn't getting paid at all for several of my items, and that was not communicated to me at all. I will NEVER sell to them again. And I may never buy from them either. "
"One word describes these people, Lazy. They don't get back to you with your order, they work banker hours so good luck reaching them if you have a 9-5 Monday to Friday job since they are off anytime after 5 and before 8 also off on weekends. Also, they have limited workers handling your cards as well. If anyone sees this post take some advice from me and never sell your cards to this company. My cards were in a binder never touched by hands for years and they have the nerve to tell me they are "less than near mint condition" no creases no folds no marks on any of the cards no loss in color ECT. I also spent hours of my time sorting these cards and printed a list for them as they instructed but it seems I have cards missing or wrong edition. I know the difference between my unlimited charizard and an limited one which I didn't have I'm not new to the Pokemon tcg. These are scammers and fools who only want to rip you off don't trust these guys with you cards!"
"This is a great site to buy and sell to. I've never had a issue with this site. I sold card to them in the past with no issues. If you put junk cards in your sell list and call them nm they will call you on it. Don't be an **** and try to get over on people. "
"will delay your shipment by sending it to the wrong address on USPS and then redirecting the package to one of their own warehouses.
I live in Michigan and they ship from Kentucky. Scum and **** sent the package from Kentucky to Colorado, Colorado to Michigan (just to shown it has been in the Michigan system), and finally from Michigan to Missouri (a private address).
I contacted them and said please sort it out if its accidental, or i will report to police for intentional fraud if they intentional did this; their response was "I'm sorry you feel that way, but good luck with that"
Buyers Beware"
