The following is helpful info I received from Melissa at Tropical Traditions, for anyone like me, new to ordering from Tropical Traditions.
The shreds are more like a "meal" than a shred you would find in a grocery store band like "Kroger's shredded coconut" bag.
Not what you would use to make traditional American Macaroon cookie, but IF you need a finer particle size shred, more like a very coarse meal for say rolling homemade candy balls in, the shreds would be just what you want.
For making American macaroon cookies you would want the FLAKES!
Then the Coconut Chips would be better suited for a good trail mix to snack on!
I received a VERY prompt (& pleasant) reply from Melissa at Tropical Traditions, when I had commented on the different sizes needing to be better defined! MANY times I have spent close to $1,000.00 (coop orders w/friends)at a time at another webstore & had to fight with them to get a reply or help with a problem! They treated me better here with a $50.00 order than (can I say the name here...vitacost.com)does with my repeated business of the past 10 years!
